Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Not only have the men been making the rounds on the red carpet at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival over the last few days, some have also not been in France whilst attending to other premieres and events.

Chris Pine: At the ‘Wonder Woman’ LA premiere, Chris dressed to impress in a hyper-traditional Giorgio Armani Made to Measure three-piece suit complete with a pocket watch chain.

Harry Styles: With a distinct nod to retro style, Harry had a throwback moment in a custom Gucci embroidered suit prior to his performance at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood. I actually love the casual ’70s flair of the look.

Will Smith
: Sleekly buttoned up, Will did the double-breasted suit thing in top form at the ‘Ismael’s Ghosts’ Cannes premiere.

Yara Shahidi In Gucci – Fossil Firsts Breakfast

When actress Yara Shahidi attended the Fossil Firsts Breakfast in New York City on Wednesday (May 10), she had two clear goals: Make a statement, but remain comfortable. And we think it’s safe to say she achieved both.

The youthful design, a bright red Gucci Pre-Fall 2017 tracksuit, isn’t just any old tracksuit.

What makes it such a standout piece is the fact that Gucci has paid close attention to the detailing: ruffled sleeves, embroidered flowers on the neckline and stripes along the sides of the trousers — making this the perfect combination of style and comfort, and proof that athleisure can look polished.

I love that Yara kept the overall feel of the look casual, choosing to accessorize with only a killer pair of studded heels.

Salma Hayek In Gucci – Kering Talks Women In Motion

Salma Hayek sported another perplexing outfit and wig choice when attending Kering Talks Women In Motion during Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday (May 23).

Her Gucci Fall 2017 dress almost seem too prim for Salma, yet the oversized pearl and crystallized bow keep me interested and prevent me from disliking the frock.

Seemingly inspired by the 1940’s, I would say the only thing missing from this look are glasses, then, Salma would be ready to take up her position as the Cannes librarian.

Monica Bellucci In Gucci – Cannes 70th Anniversary Dinner

As you know I wasn’t excited about Monica Bellucci’s Chanel red carpet look, but I was blow away by the Gucci gown she wore to the Cannes Film Festival 70th anniversary dinner last night (May 23).

That’s mostly because I don’t ever recall seeing Monica opt for so much detail.

Her gown which is emboldened with eye-catching butterfly and insect embroideries and rainbow sequin stripes is a huge break from the norm; and while I’m thoroughly intrigued, I do wish she done something different with her hair.

Not only because it would’ve made for a refreshing change, but also to show off that butterfly detail on the neckline.

The Gucci clutch might be too big for some peoples taste, but I think it ties the look nicely together.

Salma Hayek In Gucci – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

Salma Hayek attended the 70th anniversary celebration of Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 23).

While this isn’t Gucci Premiere, the Fall 2017 look was custom in her favour giving her both length and a nipped-in-waist to flatter her figure.

It would seem many of you are struggling to get on board with Salma and Gucci under the new Creative Director – and I have too – but the last few custom looks I believe have worked in her favour, especially this one.

I’m loving the range of wig she’s serving up too.

Isabelle Huppert In Gucci & Christian Dior Couture – ‘Happy End’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Flowy fashion statements have been Isabelle Huppert’s M.O. at the Cannes Film Festival, and that theme showed no sign of waning at the ‘Happy End’ photocall and premiere on Monday (May 22).

Photocall: I haven’t been impressed with Isabelle’s Cannes looks thus far, so this Gucci Pre-Fall 2017 gown was a welcome relief—not only for its vibrant print but also because it actually fit properly.

: Unfortunately, this Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture gown reversed the upward trend, as it was rather ill-conceived in its washed-out colour along with the age-inappropriate sheer skirt and silver platform pumps.
