SXSW Film Festival Weekend Menswear Roundup

Ryan Gosling and Michael Fassbender joined co-stars Rooney Mara and Berenice Marlohe for the ‘Song To Song’ premiere during the 2017 SXSW Film Festival on Friday (March 10) in Austin, Texas.

Ryan Gosling: As stated previously, this film festival is more of a relaxed affair, but that didn’t persuade Ryan from stepping out of his Gucci-clad comfort-zone. He may have gone sans tie, but there was still a very formal feel about this red carpet outing, which I am not begrudging at all.

Michael Fassbender: The Irish actor nailed his look by seamlessly marrying informality and refinement; topped off with Tom Ford shades.

Beyonce Knowles In Gucci – ‘Beauty And The Beast’ LA Premiere

While Beyonce and Blue Ivy didn’t walk the red carpet at the ‘Beauty And The Beast’ LA premiere on Thursday (March 2), they were later spotted taking in the Disney movie.

Mother and daughter made for a precious match in their coordinating Gucci and Gucci Girl ensembles, each of them riffing on a look sent down the runway from the Fall 2016 collection.

Bey’s version of fairy-tale romance incorporated an embellished, plunge neckline and flowing, empire-waist silhouette to accommodate her burgeoning bump.

However, Blue Ivy really stole the show in her sporty princess look, styling those colourful ruffles with cool-girl sneakers.

Chong and Caroline were quick to remember that Lupita Nyong’o wore Beyonce’s gown during Cannes Film Festival.

2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Menswear Roundup

It was definitely ladies night at the 2017 Oscars parties, but a few men joined in on the sartorial parade of looks at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party and Elton John’s AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday (February 26).

Armie Hammer: Sleek and sophisticated, the actor dressed to impress in a Tom Ford tux styled with a Montblanc timepiece, but it was his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, who really put on the glitz in this berry-hued Monique Lhuillier Resort 2017 embellished gown.

Jared Leto: We can also rely on Jared to keep us on our toes, and he did just that with this Gucci Spring 2017 ensemble paired with Gucci black leather GG Marmont loafers. With the craziness of this spitfire look, he obviously wanted to stand out from the crowd—and that he did.

Dakota Johnson In Gucci – 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Dakota Johnson certainly didn’t shy away from fashion risks last night, and wore a Gucci gown and Gucci clutch for the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

While her ceremony look had major 80s throwback elements, this gown also speaks to the big bows and bold accoutrements of the decade.

However, while her unique ceremony look won me over with its editorial prowess, I just can’t get on board this time around.

That peach bow is just so prominent. And seemingly frozen in place to look like it has movement.

I just can’t. Can you?

2017 Oscars Menswear Roundup

A handsome handful of guys also took to the red carpet for the 2017 Oscars on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood, California.

David Oyelowo: The sharp suaveness of this Dolce & Gabbana tux, with its white dress jacket and contrast black labels, was undeniable. Christian Louboutin ‘Dada’ loafers capped off the look with a touch of polish.

Andrew Garfield: The classic black tuxedo received a slim-line, slightly cropped proportion in this Tom Ford number.

Riz Ahmed: Our third rendition of the tux came courtesy of Riz, who took his to more colourful territory in a blue Ermenegildo Zegna Couture suit accented with Montblanc studs and cufflinks and Christian Louboutin ‘Alpha Male’ shoes. For a couture piece, I would have expected a slightly more precise fit.

Dakota Johnson In Gucci – 2017 Oscars

Dakota Johnson attended the 2017 Oscars on Sunday night (February 26).

The actress and style chameleon wore a golden Gucci gown from the Fall 2017 collection with Cartier jewels.

This gown is definitely an editorial statement, and a huge departure from most of the gowns seen tonight, and I’m completely on board with it!

The shoulder pads, front pleating and peplum-esque bow make this a serious nod to the 80s, and while I know it may be polarizing, I’m eating it up, and Dakota is the perfect actress to be serving it!

2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards Red Carpet Roundup

More stars were also in attendance at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (February 25) in Santa Monica, California.

Danielle Brooks: The ‘OITNB’ actress took the plunge in an Urban Zen by Donna Karan wrap jersey tunic and pant, complemented by a body chain—as if enough attention wasn’t already directed to the girls.

Natasha Lyonne: The actress took a custom Creatures of The Wind rose and green floral dresses out for a spin. The pleated frock held promise, but I couldn’t see the forest for the trees given the clunky, distracting styling with the oversized white clutch and ivory boots.
