Red Carpet Fashion Awards

BDOTW Nicole & Jessica

Nicole Kidman was your clear winner for Best Dressed this week, wearing a Valentino Couture gown during Cannes Film Festival.

It was just one of many gowns worn by the Australian actress which swept us off our feet during the 12-day festival.

My pick was Jessica Chastain in Givenchy Couture. It was such an unexpected, bold choice for the usually reserved star. On a post of mostly neutral-coloured gowns, she really stood out.

BDOTW Men Tom & Jeremy

When it comes to men, our choices also greatly differed. You opted for the charming Tom Hiddleston in Alexander McQueen, while I selected Jeremy Renner in Lanvin.

While there isn’t much between them, for me the satin lapels and white pocket square added that much more refinement to Jeremy’s look to help me with my choice.

Models @ amfar 1

Here is a round up of all the models who took to the red carpet on Thursday evening for the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala held at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France on Thursday evening before taking to the runway for the fashion show.

Karolina Kurkova: Cavalli created an uber hot black cut-out gown for the sensational Kurkova. This woman couldn’t look bad if she tried. Aside from the serpent bracelet, she let the gown do all the talking…and it’s sayin’ “don’t I look hot?”

Joan Smalls: The gorgeous model worked a Givenchy Fall 2013 floral sequin sheer gown with a sheer sweater with leather appliqués. I had expected Ciara to have worn one of these looks by now. I didn’t have high hopes for this portion of the collection, but it does translate rather nicely off the runway. I am intrigued to see the look sans sweater.

Karlie Kloss: Is she just not trying anymore? The model wore a Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2013 look which is uber chic, but just not enough for a gala event. She could’ve worn anything she wanted, so I wonder why she chose to wear this. Maybe she just wanted to be less obvious like many of her fellow models at this event.

Jessica Chastain In Givenchy Couture - ‘All Is Lost’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Jessica Chastain blew me away for the second time today while attending the ‘All Is Lost’ Cannes Film Festival premiere held at the Palais des Festivals in France in this evening.

At this point I have forgotten all about the absence of Nicole Kidman, as a worthy red carpet Cannes queen has taken her place.

The actress wore her second custom Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci gown in a row, going from soft and ethereal to making a huge statement in this purple embellished gown.

JLo and Beyonce are kicking themselves that they didn’t get their hands on this gown.

The elaborate embellishment decorating this dress is something we easily associate with those singers, so while this look is a shock for Jessica, it is a welcome one. Just what this event needed to shake it out of its sleepy slumber.

With so much bedazzlement, Elizabeth Taylor’s Bulgari jewels were kept in the vault tonight.

Li Yuchun In Givenchy Couture - ‘All Is Lost’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Li Yuchun attended the ‘All Is Lost’ Cannes Film Festival premiere held at the Palais des Festivals in France in this evening, giving us a third look at her red carpet style.

So the tulle ballgown never materialized; instead she worked a Givenchy Fall 2012 Couture look featuring a degrade gold-to-black fringed top with sparkling pants and thonged midi heels.

It another amazing look. She totally owns it, without it wearing her.

Li Yuchun is a big star in China, we can tell by the comments on her previous looks.

We’ve heard how great she is, so what do you think about tonight’s Givenchy outfit?

Jessica Chastain In Givenchy - Bulgari Hosts 'Cleopatra' Cocktail

Following her Best Dressed of The Day look in Versace Collection for the ‘Cleopatra’ Cannes Film Festival premiere, where she wore a stunning necklace from the Elizabeth Taylor Bulgari Collection, Jessica Chastain attended a party hosted by Bulgari at the Hotel Marriott in Cannes, France yesterday evening.

Opting for white once again, the beautiful actress wore a Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci Spring 2014 crepe-de-chine gown with satin cut-outs and a plunging neckline.

On this occasion her jewel choice was a subtle emerald ring which stands out against the white backdrop of her gorgeous gown, and an emerald brooch accenting her flame-coloured locks.

She is such a class act. I love how elegant she always looks. I hope one day she is on the jury for Cannes so we can get to see this kind of magic for 12 days straight.

Tisci really needed this after…well…you know.

Kesha In Givenchy S13 - 2013 Billboard Music Awards

I don’t really feature Kesha that much on the site because let’s face it, fashion-wise she’s a hot-mess.

On Sunday night I thought she’d finally turned the corner as she appeared to have scrubbed up well for the 2013 Billboard Awards held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas — that was until she turned to the side.

Her Givenchy Spring 2013 black tunic with a funnel neck, ruffle detailing to the shoulders and waist high side-slits was styled with a skirt on the runway, however the singer took to the red carpet sans skirt for a very revealing look.

What she gave with one hand, she snatched away with the other.

Why are celebs so proud to showcase that they don’t like to wear underpants?

Palladium rings and a ponytail completed her look.

First Kim Karadashian now this; Givenchy is not having a great month of May on the red carpet.
