2017 Billboard Music Awards Red Carpet Roundup

There were more looks that took to the red carpet at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 21) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Nicole Scherzinger: With an overt display of cleavage and ruffles, this Maria Lucia Hohan skin-tone gown was a bit of a dated eyeful.

Lorde: This red Givenchy design was a striking way to wear sheer without flashing the panties. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes completed the look.

Lea Michele: Despite its see-through mentality, this David Koma perforated dress conveyed chic, modern elegance on Lea, especially when styled with a twisted top knot and Cesare Paciotti shoes.

Cannes Fashion For Relief

The Fashion for Relief gala and runway show event was held during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (May 21), with attendees turning up the volume on their own fashion statements for the evening.

Naomi Campbell: Before gracing the runway at the event, the supermodel stunned in an Atelier Versace Spring 2017 gown with Santoni sandals and Bulgari jewels. The slithery, slit-to-there was Naomi’s version of a Grecian goddess look; I loved the movement of the diaphanous skirt and the shimmer of the knotted overlay that infused the look with an intriguing edge.

Uma Thurman: After her questionable last look, Uma redeemed herself a bit in this Atelier Versace embellished number styled with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals. However, am I alone in thinking the dress felt a bit dated?

Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan
: I have a feeling that this Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci dress was far more beautifully perceived in person with its tonal embroidery and lace underskirt. Its pristine-white polish is what kept me most interested.

Lewis Hamilton
: The British race car driver didn’t leave his sporty edge at home, bringing it to Cannes with this Gucci ‘Bee’ bomber jacket.

Annabelle Wallis In Givenchy & Emilio Pucci – ‘The Mummy’ Sydney Premiere

Cannes Film Festival isn’t the only place high fashion looks are gracing red carpet, as Annabelle Wallis proved this weekend while attending the Universal Celebration of ‘The Mummy Day’ on Saturday (May 20) in Hollywood, California, followed by the Sydney premiere earlier today.

Universal Celebration of ‘The Mummy Day’: Kick starting her promo tour in a blaze of colour, you don’t get more punchy than this piece from Givenchy’s Fall 2017 all-red collection. I love how the dress appears simple in design, however, the silk satin lace detailing sets it apart from most scoop-neck dresses. Givenchy red sandals completed the radiant look.

‘The Mummy’ Sydney Premiere: Floor-sweeping and worthy of stares, this sequin-showered gown from Emilio Pucci’s Fall 2017 collection is nothing short of striking. I love how the copper hues enhance the drama while cut-out adds to the fashion-forward appeal.

Jessica Chastain In Givenchy Couture – ‘Okja’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Taking her place on the red carpet for the ‘Okja’ Cannes Film Festival premiere this evening (May 19), Jessica Chastain looked resplendent.

Some of you felt a little let down by her opening ceremony look, but the actress has always fared well in Givenchy over the years at this event, and this lilac fringe Couture confection was no different.

If there was one look I wished to see in motion, this would be it.

From the glistening embellishments to the swaying fringe with a little Marilyn wiggle, this is would be a joy to watch.

Julianne Moore In Givenchy Couture – ‘Ismael’s Ghosts’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Julianne Moore attended the 2017 Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony and premiere of ‘Ismael’s Ghosts on Wednesday (May 17).

Taking a cue from the carpet itself, Julianne wore a Givenchy Couture gown in a deep red hue.

If Cannes isn’t about glamorous fashion moments that remain in our minds forever, I don’t know what event is, and Julianne certainly delivered with a look that is worth remembering!

I actually let out a little gasp when I saw this gown–the multiple types of feathering and the cape detailing off the shoulder make it an absolutely work of art.

A low-slung chignon and equally as artistic Chopard earrings complete a truly inspiring look.

2017 Met Gala After-Party

Katy Perry hosted the Met Gala after party at The Boom Boom at The Standard in New York City in the early hours of Tuesday morning (May 2).

Elle Fanning: The young actress donned her second Miu Miu look of the night. I love how the looks starts out minimal in hue and cut before gathering in pace below the waist with an explosion of multi-colour feathers and embellished Christian Louboutin ‘Body Strass’ pumps. I’m imagining this would’ve looked amazing as a gown for the main event.

Kate Bosworth: Since the majority of you disliked Kate’s Tory Burch red carpet look, I won’t be surprised if you wished she’d worn her Emilio Pucci Spring 2017 boldly hued frock to the main event. It certainly would’ve had a greater impact.

Katy Perry: It was Katy Perry’s party and she will dress as ridiculously as she wants too. My only surprise is that she didn’t wear Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2016 Couture look with the runway helmet.

Fan Bingbing In Givenchy & Monse – Givenchy Store Opening & 8th China Film Directors’ Guild Awards

Fan Bingbing attended the Givenchy Store Opening in China on Friday (April 21) before heading to the 8th China Film Directors’ Guild Awards the next day.

Givenchy Store Opening: The Givenchy Fall 2017 collection was done entirely in bright red, and Fan brilliantly showed off one of the pieces in this cross between a tuxedo jacket and a robe. She strikingly styled the loose, languid look with a lace camisole and gloves, hinting at boudoir elegance.

China Film Directors’ Guild Awards: Completing flipping the script on her next look, Fan served up a far different form of relaxed elegance. I love how she paired the intentionally unkempt quality of the oversized Monse Fall 2016 striped shirt with the structured tailoring of a prim pencil skirt. Opposites do really attract here. And, how happy are we to see this look styled without platform shoes.
