Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Noomi Rapace In Givenchy - European Film Awards 2013

Following the Marrakesh Film Festival, Noomi Rapace headed to Berlin, Germany for the European Film Awards 2013 which took place on Saturday evening.

Joining Diane Kruger on the red carpet at this event, the Swedish actress selected a Givenchy Fall 2013 look consisting of a sheer embroidered sweater with flame-print sleeves, a signature star appliqué neckline, and a paisley-print maxi skirt.

While I appreciate the edgy, romantic nature of this look (which she notched up with a sleek bun and feline eyes) it doesn’t feel grand enough for an awards ceremony.

For something with less formality, this would’ve been a perfect way for her to showcase her alternative style.

Li Yuchun in GbRT - Look 4

Li Yuchun, aka Chris Lee, came to our attention during Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. She has a fan base which eclipses Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus combined, several times over.

So it was not a surprise that when her ‘Why Me’ concert was announced, tickets sold out instantly.

Having showcased her androgynous sartorial style in Cannes, Riccardo Tisci rose to the challenge of creating five customs for the singer, an honour which has also been recently bestowed upon Rihanna and Beyonce.

From bold flame prints to the haute couture organza cape and the hand-embroidered skirt worn over tuxedo pants, the looks all referenced Tisci’s most iconic collections for Givenchy.

The looks matched his long-term obsession with the masculine–feminine contrast, which is why it was so apt that he designed this wardrobe for Li Yuchun as she embodies that contrast perfectly.

Lily Collins In Givenchy - Flaunt Magazine En Garde! Issue Launch Party

Lily Collins attended the Flaunt Magazine En Garde! Issue launch party hosted at Hakkasan Restaurant in Beverly Hills, California yesterday evening.

While I’m delighted by the return of her bold lip, I can’t say that I’m too enamoured by her Givenchy Fall 2012 red-and-black silk-and-lace dress.

You may remember I was never particularly a fan of this collection. The only celebrity who tried to make it work off the runway was Amanda Seyfried. Tried and failed, not surprisingly.

There is nothing that could’ve made this look better – not her Jimmy Choo ‘Amika’ pumps and not her sexy bed hair.

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy - Harper's Bazaar Woman Of The Year Awards 2013

Oscar front-runner and the star of Woody Allen’s acclaimed film ‘Blue Jasmine’, Cate Blanchett, who also appears on the cover of the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar, was named International Actress of the Year at the Harper’s Bazaar Woman Of The Year Awards.

The Australian actress looked stunning at the event, which was held at Claridges in London yesterday evening, wearing a Givenchy Spring 2014 walnut-coloured crepe jersey dress with embroidered cuffs which, I will admit, didn’t have much red-carpet appeal on the runway, but the beauty of Cate is that everything she touches turns to red-carpet gold.

Keeping accessories to a bare minimum, she styled her look with nude Givenchy sandals and a gold necklace which cascaded down the open V-back of her dress.

Liv Tyler In Givenchy and Proenza Schouler - The Lunchbox Fund Fall Fete And Feedie App Launch

Liv Tyler attended The Lunchbox Fund Fall Fête held at Buddakan in New York City yesterday, where they launched the charity’s philanthropy app, Feedie.

Wearing pieces from her favoured brands Givenchy and Proenza Schouler, she donned a black Proenza Schouler longs-sleeve top with a sexy fitted Givenchy skirt with a kick-flare hem in shades of rich autumn greens.

Styling was kept uber-simple, with a Givenchy wristlet and black Manolo Blahnik pumps completing the look.

My wish is that the neckline was more open, like a scooped neckline, or that she had added a necklace. Nothing too ostentatious, as it was a charity event, but something to prevent the top half feeling so bare.
