Best Dressed Of The Week – Diane Kruger In Donna Karan Atelier & Rosamund Pike In Givenchy Couture

BDOTW 2 march

Red was the colour of the week as the majority of our favourites donned the colour on Oscar night.

Emma Stone’s 100% record of winning best dressed polls was finally broken by the one and only Diane Kruger, who took our breath away in a crimson Donna Karan Atelier jumpsuit.

After a truly lacklustre awards season, Rosamund Pike finally gave us something to smile about on Oscar night, wearing a stunning Givenchy Couture gown. Had she been an Olympic hurdler, this would’ve been her jumping the final hurdle before crossing the finishing line having knocked over all of the previous hurdles.

With Eddie Redmayne suppressing his love for colour and patterns this awards season, my favourite by far was David Oyelowo for standing out in his bold red Dolce & Gabbana, while you went for the classic elegance of the dashing Chris Pine.

2015 Oscars & Vanity Fair Party Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Oscar men

The men were out in force at the 2015 Oscars and the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where there was plenty of handsome inspiration to go around from a fine group of fellows.

Jared Leto: Getting the evening started on a non-traditional note, the actor and musician was every bit the unorthodox Academy Awards dresser in his baby-blue Givenchy tux, accented by a white bowtie and white lug sole shoes. He let his hair down literally and made no excuses for it, saying that the Oscars was his going-away party for his locks. I wonder if the beard was also included in that party. While no one could pull this off like Jared, between the mane and the male pastels, this was verging on almost too much too handle.

Chris Pine: A stark contrast to Jared, Chris went for the all-out traditionally classic route and suited up in a Giorgio Armani black double-breasted peak-lapel tuxedo. It was impeccable and goes to show what transformative power a well-tailored tux can have.

David Oyelowo: Looking as if he was inspired by the red carpet itself, the ‘Selma’ actor dressed to impress in a crimson Dolce & Gabbana three-piece tuxedo word with #TackleEbola handcrafted pin by Jason of Beverly Hills. He does a great job pulling off this colour, yet I’m not completely sold on the satiny look of the vest and bowtie underneath.

Jessica Chastain In Givenchy Couture – 2015 Oscars

Jessica Chastain In Givenchy - 2015 Oscars

Jessica Chastain walked red carpet on Sunday (February 22) at the 2015 Oscars, hosted at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

Clad in Givenchy, the ‘Interstellar’ star and presenter for the evening looked radiant in gem-toned navy.

The hourglass figure-hugging gown was a combination of elegance and sex appeal with a thigh-high slit and modest train. The sparkly bodice was softened with a contrasting sweeping sash of fabric.

Her fiery locks were glossy and straight and makeup neutral with a cat eye, both which allowed her gown to take center stage.

Rosamund Pike In Givenchy Couture – 2015 Oscars

Rosamund Pike In Givenchy - 2015 Oscars

Rosamund Pike was another lady in red at the 2015 Oscars, hosted at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 22) in Hollywood, California.

I was delighted to see that the ‘Gone Girl’ Best Actress nominee continued her rise back to the top that we first saw at Friday’s Women in Film pre-Oscar party.

This vivacious crimson Givenchy Couture number created a visual spark on the red carpet with its dimensional, intricate embroidery sexily cinched in with a visible corset.

A front slit completed the gown’s sultry hourglass appeal and showed off her matching sandals.

Rosamund finished the sassy-elegant look in minimal fashion—dainty Lorraine Schwartz earrings, alongside a swept-back bun and barely-there rose-tinged makeup were all she needed.

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy – ‘Cinderella’ Berlin Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy - 'Cinderella' Berlin Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Cate Blanchett captivated during both the ‘Cinderella’ photocall and premiere hosted at the 65th Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany on Friday (February 13).

Photocall: At the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the actress who plays the Evil Stepmother in the film couldn’t have looked more chic in a Givenchy Pre-Fall 2015 ensemble. The relaxed tailoring of the loose white blouse melded perfectly with the more structured silhouette of the belted skirt and side ruffle detail. The semi-visible balconette bra underneath only added another layer of allure to the look, which she finished with a sophisticated side-parted bun and black Givenchy ‘Matilda’ sandals.

Premiere: Cutting a wickedly good profile, Cate let her hair down for the red carpet at Berlinale Palace and stunned in a bold Givenchy Pre-Fall 2015 metallic gown, slightly modified from the lookbook version. She played her own version of the game of Tetris in the gleaming dress. The pixel-inspired block design was graphic, geometric and glorious, and she balanced it perfectly with Givenchy ‘Clara’ sandals and tousled blonde waves.

An impressive double fashion feature—Queen Cate has done it again.
