Best Dressed Of The Week - Jennifer Connelly In Givenchy Couture & Douglas Booth In Hugo Boss

Jennifer Connelly in her stunning Givenchy Couture gown was the runaway winner, taking 50% of the votes this week, and no doubt she made it onto several BDOTY lists.

The only person who came even marginally close to her this week was Emmy Rossum.

When it came to the guys the race was a little more closely fought, with Chris Evans and Douglas Booth battling it out, with Douglas’s Hugo Boss look the eventual victor.

So the best-dressed cast on the red carpet this week goes to ‘Noah’, will they win best dressed cast of 2014?

Jennifer Connelly In Givenchy Fall 2009 Couture - 'Noah' Mexico City Premiere

Jennifer Connelly attended the premiere of Paramount Pictures’ ‘Noah’ held at Pepsi Center on Monday (March 10) in Mexico City, Mexico.

I’m totally floored by her Givenchy Fall 2009 Couture gown. It’s head-and-shoulders above most of the gowns we saw on the red carpet at the Oscars last week.

Her blush-pink satin-jacquard V-neck gown embellished with fuchsia-pink stones is a work of art. I love that Givenchy are giving celebs access to the archives, as this beauty deserved a red carpet moment.

Wavy tresses and flawless makeup perfect this BDOTY-worthy look.

Oscars menThe Oscars 2014 on Sunday (March 2), and the ensuing soirees, were a fashion feast for the senses, with high-wattage gowns swishing at every glam turn. But the men provided plenty of eye candy, as well, as they suited up in their sartorial best for the stylish super-event at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California followed by the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Matthew McConaughey: The ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ Best Actor winner not only delivered a compelling acceptance speech, he also was convincingly decked out in a Dolce & Gabbana suit, Louboutin shoes and Chopard cufflinks. Always surprising us with his wild-card jackets, this one was a crispy ivory number, which he handsomely sported with a black vest, white button-down, black trousers and bowtie.

Bradley Cooper: Looking ever so dapper in a black Tom Ford tuxedo, paired with a black bow tie and Chopard cufflinks, the ‘American Hustle’ star and Best Supporting Actor nominee wore a side of handsome scruff with his classic ensemble

Pharrell Williams: Well, he wasn’t wearing the colossal hat, but the ‘Happy’ singer and nominee still turned heads with his cutoffs. The custom head-to-toe Lanvin look featured a black wool shawl-collar, one-button tuxedo with matching shorts, a white tuxedo shirt with ivory pearl buttons, a black satin bowtie and dark gray hand-polished calfskin derbies (sans socks, natch).  Yay or nay?

JuliaRobertsInGivenchyOscars2014

Julia Roberts looked radiant during her red carpet walk on Sunday (March 2) at the 2014 Oscars, hosted at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Nominated for her work in ‘August: Osage County’, Julia chose a custom Givenchy couture gown for the big occasion.

As Hollywood royalty she always looks beautiful and classic, and this black lace column gown is one of her best sartorial choices to date. The deep neckline with peekaboo lace paneling and peplum detail made the gown sophisticated, sexy, and romantic all at once.

The actress often lets her gown speak for itself, as she did on the red carpet here, punctuating the intricate lace design with only a few sparkly jewels from Bulgari.

Julia, you hit the red carpet jackpot once again.

Lupita Nyong'o In Givenchy - NAACP Image Awards 2014Lupita Nyong’o took home the Best Supporting Actress trophy at the NAACP Image Awards 2014, hosted Saturday (February 22) at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California.

I always look forward to the ’12 Years a Slave’ star’s red-carpet entrances. Here, she looked to the Givenchy Pre-Fall 2014 collection for inspiration, donning a ruddy, burnt-orange gown with matching Givenchy sandals and a box clutch.

The plunging bodice with harness-like detail was a structured contrast to the multi-pleated, ankle-grazing skirt, which she supplemented with an H. Stern gold cuff and long gold statement earrings.

Working with the rich desert tones, which began with the dress, she completed the effect with metallic bronze eye shadow and a mahogany-red lip—even lacquering her nails in a similar rust shade.

I’m just not sure if I’m yet on board with her new, two-sided ’do, although I appreciate the freshness of the approach.

Laetitia Casta In Givenchy Couture - 64th Festival di Sanremo 2014 Opening Night

As expected, Laetitia Casta dialled up the glamour for the opening night of the 64th Festival di Sanremo 2014 held at Teatro Ariston on Tuesday (February 18) in Sanremo, Italy.

Wearing three archived Givenchy Couture looks, the model presented wearing a custom white satin corset, with a long white silk-chiffon Spring 2012 Couture skirt enriched with micro-paillettes and crystal fringes and suspended from a silver chain.

Adding a more glamorous spin to her look, she added white leather opera gloves, screen-siren wavy tresses and a glossy red lip.
