Cate Blanchett In Givenchy Haute Couture – ‘Blackkklansman’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Cate Blanchett was back on the red carpet for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of ‘Blackkklansman’ this evening (May 14).

You can’t have a rainbow without the rain, so Cate donned this Givenchy Spring 2018 Haute Couture gown to banish the Monday blues.

I did want to put this on my wish list for Cate, as I have adored this open-back colourful tiered gown since it hit the runway, but I thought, “who would wear a turtleneck at Cannes?”

It looks like the Queen has answered my question.

Jane Fonda In Givenchy Haute Couture – ‘Sink Or Swim (Le Grand Bain)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Jane Fonda was clearly channeling the same style memo as Isabelle Huppert for the ‘Sink Or Swim (Le Grand Bain)’ Cannes Film Festival premiere on Sunday (May 13).

Another ageless star, she also rocked a dark and moody embellished look, hers hailing from the Givenchy Spring 2018 Haute Couture collection.

Nothing was left off the table with its theatrics of beading, fringe, sequins and sheer, to which a Roger Vivier clutch and Chopard jewels were added.

Jane often loves to have fun with fashion, so I can see her embracing this as such a festive gown despite its black hue.

Julianne Moore In Givenchy – Chopard Gentlemen’s Evening

After the ‘Yomeddine’ premiere, Julianne Moore continued on to the Chopard Gentlemen’s Evening on Wednesday (May 9), as part of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.

I am loving the variety of silhouette the actress has thus shown at Cannes so far, whilst still staying true to her signature style.

We may have predicted her to err on the side of a classic LBD at this event—especially to show off the Chopard jewels.

But, even with this delightful feathery Givenchy frock (her second feathery look of the festival), the sparkling earrings and cuffs still held their own as each complemented the other in this graceful presentation.

I might have swapped in a silver sandal to complete the luminosity.

2018 Met Gala Menswear Roundup

The men always have a bit more of a challenge when it comes to thematic dress, but here’s how they did at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

Virgil Abloh: Right out of the gate, I loved seeing Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Men’s Collections wearing this preview of the upcoming Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2019 men’s collection. Bonus points that the creamy-white design played to the theme—with an urban twist in the sneakers.

Andrew Garfield: The actor introduced the thematic, crimson-red hue via this lush velveteen Tom Ford tuxedo.

Jared Leto: If there would be anyone to fully dress to theme, it would be Jared. In head-to-toe Gucci, he flaunted this custom design that offered up his interpretation of a saintly crown paired with priestly embroidered panels. The flamboyant suit itself we could have likely seen him in any day of the week.

Julianne Moore In Givenchy Haute Couture – ‘Everybody Knows’ Cannes Film Festival Screening

Julianne Moore was also a dazzling lady in red for the screening of ‘Everybody Knows (Todos Lo Saben),’ which also served as the opening ceremony for the 2018 Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 8) in France.

For 50 weeks of the year Julianne sticks to black, but during Cannes, she embraces colour like no other.

I swooned when I saw this Givenchy Haute Couture red cape gown in the pictures, but died when I saw it in motion with the flight of those feathers.

Cape gowns are always have a regal air and grace about them, but this one is particularly special. It might just be in my top 5 favourites of all time.

Some might compare this to Lupita Nyong’o’s Ralph Lauren gown from the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, but I think this is next level gorgeous.
