Erykah Badu In Givenchy Couture - 2014 Met Gala

Erykah Badu attended the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) as the guest of Riccardo Tisci.

Wearing a head-to-toe custom Givenchy Couture outfit, she was certainly marching to the beat of her own drum showcasing her sartorial style.

The look featured a black jumpsuit worn with a white satin coat embroidered with crystals which matched her silk headscarf and wool hat.

Givenchy Couture silver earrings and black Givenchy leather sandals completed her look.

This is how you make an impact and stand out on a red carpet with a sea of 5ft long trains.

I wonder if that hat will catch on?

Beyonce Knowles In Givenchy Couture - 2014 Met Gala

Beyoncé turns heads on the red carpet of the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

She looks fierce in a black beaded Givenchy Couture number with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

There is no doubt that Queen B always looks fabulous, and this is no exception. She stood out in this seriously sexy number and adds a unique touch with the veil.

The detail on this dress is simply captivating and so is her bold burgundy lip, accented by a subtle gold shimmer around her eyes.

Beyoncé can do no wrong in my opinion. She certainly sets herself apart from the crowd, but still is on target for the theme and nature of the gala. What do you think?

Naomi Watts strutted down the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

Departing from her usual old Hollywood glamour, the ‘Diana’ star surprised us with a Givenchy Couture sheer gown. The intricate embroidery fading from white to black in the front, the open back, and the sheer black skirt make this look even more unique.

Adding to the sophistication, Namoi wore beaded earrings with her hair pulled back and natural fresh-face makeup.

While this was the right occasion to take her love for fashion to the next step, I kind of missed the old-school elegance mixed with modern chic, she usually gives us.

Also, is anyone else having a ‘Black Swan’ déjà vu or is it just me?

America Ferrera In Givenchy - 29th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards

America Ferrera attended the 29th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards held at NYU Skirball Center on Sunday (May 4) in New York City.

As you know, the actress loves to wear black and I am always campaigning for her to wear more colour. This look is somewhat of a compromise.

On the one hand she is wearing her favourite colour, black, but her Givenchy Resort 2014 fitted frock is also freckled with colourful polka dots.

Factor in the yellow belt, yellow Jimmy Choo pumps and colourful Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch and you find me in total lust with this look from head to toe. I would wear this in a nanosecond.

EF Collection jewels, glossy lips and swept-back tresses completed this I-want-it-right-now look.

Rihanna In Givenchy Couture - 2014 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Rihanna appeared on stage at the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium on Thursday (May 1) in Los Angeles, California prior to collecting her ‘Artist of the Year’ award.

Going back into the archives, the singer selected a Givenchy Fall 2008 Couture silk-tulle high-neck gown with lace appliqués, styled with a Givenchy nappa-leather jacket instead of the wool coat we saw on the runway.

Adding to the goth vibe, Rihanna styled her look with a selection of silver jewels while working a green shimmering lip.

China bumps, aka Bantu Knots, completed her look.

Even though this is yet another sheer dress, Rihanna is rocking the hell out of this look. I love it from head to toe. It’s fierce without trying too hard.

Denise Ho in Givenchy - 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards

Denise Ho took to the red carpet this evening for the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards in Hong Kong on Sunday (April 13).

In keeping with her edgy style the Hong Kong actress-singer wore a Givenchy Spring 2014 dress, which consists of a criss-cross bodice, draped front and leather harness which appears to be holding the whole thing together.

There is perhaps too much going on, but with the simple styling I think she manages to pulls it off.
