Lucy Liu In Givenchy – 63rd Annual Obie Awards

Lucy Liu joined Denise Gough for the 63rd Annual Obie Awards on Monday (May 21) in New York City, where she was a guest presenter.

The actress used the occasion to give her new summer blonde tresses their red carpet debut.

While I will let my feelings on her hair settle for a few outings, I will say I love her Givenchy Spring 2018 dress.

I know bows, especially a multitude of them, can be a hard sell on a grown woman as the look is often labelled as too twee, but if anyone can make the sweet sensibilities of this dress work in their favour it’s Lucy.

You may remember that Dakota Johnson also had a successful outing in this same frock.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Official Wedding Portraits

The House of Givenchy have been kind enough to share the beautiful portraits from the royal wedding of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry.

They were shot by Alexi Lubomirski, who also captured the couple for their engagement portraits.

In the first image the Duke and the Duchess are captured on the East Terrace at Windsor Castle.

The second and third images are more of a family affair, which include Her Majesty The Queen and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Much has been made about the simplicity of Meghan’s wedding gown, plus comparison have been made to the Givenchy gown Audrey Hepburn wore in the 1964 issue of Vogue, but I’m with those of you who believe this was the right approach.

It was her second wedding, and Meghan wanted a dress with an “elegant aesthetic, impeccable tailoring and relaxed demeanour”. I think at this period in her life it was very much the right choice.

I have a strong belief that if it wasn’t for the grand occasion, she would’ve gone for an even simpler look.

Camila Cabello In Givenchy – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Before performed her fan-favourite hit ‘Havana’, Camila Cabello posed on the red carpet at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, which took place on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

You’ve often had mixed reaction to Camila’s style, which has seen her very much at the experimental stages as she forges her solo career.

On this occasion she was rocking, or should I saw swinging out in Givenchy Fall 2018.

I love how her dual colour dress unites couture elements with a sculptural sensibilities while epitomizing the brand’s take on luxe fabrics and modern cuts.

For this young star this was fun to wear, with asymmetric fringing swishing with every movement.

Chopard jewels completed her look.

Meghan Markle Weds Prince Harry In Givenchy

The moment we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived.

Meghan Markle – Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Sussex – wore Givenchy, designed by Clare Waight Keller, as she wed Prince Harry in Windsor today (May 19)

I was immediately swept away by the simplicity of it all. I’m sure many expected some Hollywood glitz, but it was a refined, elegant take for a modern bride.

Her veil was infinitely longer than her hemline, which many believe was a nod to Princess Diana’s epic train.

The dress epitomizes a timeless minimal elegance referencing the codes of the ironic House of Givenchy and showcasing the expert craftsmanship.

True to the heritage of the house, the pure lines of the dress are achieved using six meticulously placed seams. The focus of the dress is the graphic open bateau neckline that gracefully frames the shoulders and emphasizes the slender sculpted waist. The lines of the dress extend towards the back where the train flows in soft round folds cushioned by an underskirt in triple silk organza. The slim three quarter sleeves adds a note of refined modernity.

Her something borrowed was the Queen Mary’s filigree Tiara which accessorized her veil.

Meghan expressed the wish of having all 53 countries of the Commonwealth with her on her journey through the ceremony, so Clare designed a veil representing the distinctive flora of each Commonwealth country united in one spectacular floral composition.

The veil is five meters long and made from silk title with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers in silk threads and organza.

Idris Elba In Givenchy & Sabrina Dhowre In Gucci – Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding

Idris Elba and his fiancé Sabrina Dhowre joined Oprah Winfrey and the Beckhams at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle for the royal wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle this morning (May 19) in Windsor, England.

The actor kept things simple and formal on this occasion, whereas his fiance, Sabrina, opted for a full Gucci look.

Heavily featuring the brands signature green and red webbing, this didn’t work for me.

The cardigan was felt too blasé for a royal occasion. The webbing throughout the dress, cargidan, shoes and ‘Sylvie’ bag was too matchy matchy, and not in a good way.

I don’t hate the look. She does look beautiful, but it doesn’t work for me in this setting. It’s almost too casual.
