2014 amfAR New York Gala Models Roundup

2014 amfAR New York Gala Models Roundup

Here is a roundup of the rest of the ladies who took to the red carpet for the 2014 amfAR New York Gala held at Cipriani Wall Street on Wednesday (February 5) in New York City.

Karolina Kurkova: The Czech model looked stunning wearing a black Armani dress slashed on both the thigh and bodice, with both enriched by beaded detailing. Neutral makeup and bow-accented Jimmy Choo ‘Escape’ sandals completed her look.

Ajak Deng: Also wearing black with breathtaking results was Ajak Deng. Gearing up for a busy fashion month, she started off on the right note wearing a sparkling Kaufmanfranco Fall 2013 gown with sheer inserts which is very much on the right side of sexy.

Dree Hemingway: While everyone was wearing a gown, Dree marched to the beat of her own drum, wearing a super chic Chloé Resort 2014 look featuring a navy top, white ruffled shirt and loose-fit pants. She was my second favourite at this event after Lily Alridge.

Olivia Munn In Giorgio Armani – ‘RoboCop’ World Premiere

Olivia Munn In Giorgio Armani - ‘RoboCop’ World Premiere

Olivia Munn attended the world premiere of ‘RoboCop’ held at The IMAX on Wednesday (February 05) in London joining Abbie Cornish.

There in support of her leading man, beau Joel Kinnaman, star of the film, the actress wore a beautifully classic look with considerably less bells and whistles in comparisons to Abbie’s frock.

Braving the cold, the wind and the rain she wore a Giorgio Armani black-and-white strapless dress with a gathered waist which was styled with an elegant Armani box clutch, De Beers jewels and simple Louboutin pumps.

For some who loves bold colours (just see her Juan Carlos Obando and Victoria Beckham dresses look for confirmation) this look is quite a departure for Olivia, who only added a pop of colour via her red lips.

Kristin Scott Thomas In Armani Privé & Giorgio Armani – ‘The Invisible Woman’ London Premiere

Kristin Scott Thomas In Giorgio Armani - 'The Invisible Woman' London Premiere

Kristin Scott Thomas joined Felicity Jones on the red carpet for the London premiere of ‘The Invisible Woman’ held at the Odeon Kensington on Monday (January 27).

The English-French actress opted for a two-tone dark-blue look consisting of a lightly embellished Armani Privé blue silk shirt and loose-fit trousers courtesy of Giorgio Armani.

Lacklustre-ness aside, I can’t get on board with this look for the creases alone.

Katy Perry In Giorgio Armani – Universal Music Group 2014 post-Grammy Party

Katy Perry In Giorgio Armani - Universal Music Group 2014 post-Grammy Party

Following the 2014 Grammy Awards, Katy Perry attended the Universal Music Group 2014 post-Grammy party held at the Ace Hotel Theater on Sunday (January 26) in Los Angeles, California.

In the fourth look of the night, following the red carpet, audience and performance looks, the singer wore a custom Giorgio Armani gown.

The fully iridescent, shimmering metallic gown featuring a plunging halter neck cascading into a skirt accented by mesh panels was styled with the same braided bun she sported on the red carpet.

Of all the looks she wore on the night, which was your favourite?

2014 Grammy Awards Menswear Roundup

2014 Grammy Awards Menswear RoundupOn the whole, the fashion hit a flat note at the 2014 Grammy Awards, held on Sunday (January 26) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. So I was rather relieved, if not mildly amused, to see the guys turn up the volume on their sartorial statements. Here, a roundup of menswear glimpsed at the show.

Pharrell Williams: The singer-producer, who accepted the record of the year trophy with Daft Punk, couldn’t be missed last night, thanks to his absurdly over-sized Vivienne Westwood Mountain Hat. The rest of the look—a red track jacket, jeans and faded untied boots—took a back seat to the mushy, mountie topper, which naturally drew some silly comparisons and a host of memes. But at least there was some attitude on the red carpet.

Daft Punk: The big winners of the night, the ‘Lucky’ French duo danced their way around in head-to-toe Saint Laurent ensembles. Of course, what really made those dark tuxes and bow ties pop were the silver and gold robot heads, the matching metallic gloves, and the Saint Laurent jodhpur boots in silvery glitter leather.
