Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Giorgio Armani – EE British Academy Film Awards Nominees Party

Gugu Mbatha-Raw was another lovely lady who opted for a shorter silhouette at the EE British Academy Film Awards nominees party on Saturday (February 17) in London, England. She joined Caitriona BalfeKate MaraNatalie Dormer and Anya Taylor-Joy.

The BAFTA presenter brought some vibrancy with a Giorgio Armani Spring 2018 dress.

The knee-length number had a lovely feminine charm from the way the bright watercolour print melded with the black banding.

The style brought a smile to my face and made me look forward to springtime, yet it didn’t feel out of place on the red carpet.

A Chanel clutch completed the cheerful outfit.

2018 NFL Honors

In advance of Super Bowl LII, the 2018 NFL Honors were held on Saturday (February 3) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a trio of stars each donning their own distinct variations on the colour black.

Ciara: She may have had thigh-high boots on underneath, but this sheer lace Uel Camilo gown was still plenty transparent. I’m sure I won’t be alone in putting this in the sheer-fatigue category, to which the exaggerated keyhole did nothing to help the cause. Nor did her double side buns, which seemed a strangely girlish way to round out an overtly sexy look. Hueb diamond earrings and a Djula diamond ring added some sparkle.

Emma Roberts: While I can appreciate the more classic sophistication of this Armani LBD, it felt almost like an afterthought—and the creases didn’t help. Her hybrid stiletto booties were an intriguing element, though, with Jennifer Meyer jewels, Chloe Gosselin shoes and a Lee Savage clutch to accessorise the dress.

Lea Michele: Also braving the cold with bare legs, Lea donned an Ashi Studio Fall 2017 design that married tuxedo dressing with a boudoir robe-inspired appeal. It may be a more expected Lea look, but she wore its relaxed glamour well with EFFY Jewelry, Melinda Maria Jewelry, and a Tadashi Shoji clutch.

2018 SAG Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Many of the fellows at the 2018 SAG Awards weren’t content to just wear the standard black tux, making for quite the scene-stealing list of looks on Sunday (January 21) in LA.

Noah Schnapp: The young ‘Stranger Things’ star continued to win my affection with a lesson in all that is dapper in his custom-made velvet tuxedo by Stella McCartney paired with Jésù-SégunLondon slipper-style shoes, a Brackish bowtie, and Mrs Bow Tie pocket square. What a charmer.

Sterling K. Brown:
The ‘This Is Us’ star won the best actor award, and his look was equally stellar in this Giorgio Armani tuxedo styled with a Chopard timepiece and cufflinks. This was a lesson in the appeal of classic style with a modern twist thanks to the shades and the slim-line, slightly cropped proportions.

Dacre Montgomery:
I liked this Giorgio Armani ensemble for its unorthodox twist on the traditional tux in the chocolate-brown hue and exaggerated shawl label. Wearing his dress shirt unbuttoned at the top added a rebellious flavour that actually echoed his ‘Stranger Things’ character quite well. Montblanc cufflinks completed the look.

Karolina Kurkova In Balmain & Giorgio Armani – IWC Schaffhausen (SIHH) Event

Karolina Kurkova was another lovely lady at IWC Schaffhausen’s Maison launch of its Jubilee Collection at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) on Tuesday (January 16) in Geneva, Switzerland. She joined Adriana Lima and Cate Blanchett.

WC Jubilee Collection Launch: The supermodel looked sophisticated in a Balmain Spring 2018 ensemble. She stayed true to the runway version, wearing the check overall jumpsuit with coordinating shirt. For the designer, it has been conservatively embellished which makes the chain straps and gold accessories pop.

IWC Red Carpet Event: This Giorgio Armani outfit is certainly a sensual take on tuxedo dressing. It still retains a luxurious sophistication from the velvet and slim silhouette. The draped chain detailing has such fluidity and a surprising lightness.

Andra Day In Giorgio Armani – 2018 NAACP Image Awards

Andra Day stepped out at the 2018 NAACP Image Awards on Monday (January 15) in Pasadena, California, where she was nominated for Outstanding Duo or Group and Outstanding Female Artist.

I must confess that my eye went to her bold makeup and embellished waves when I first saw this.

It’s quite a feat given the rich mix of colours and dynamic lines on her Giorgio Armani Fall 2017 gown.

The singer is wholly committed to a retro vibe, but she gives it her own modern edge. And I think this head-turning dress with Christian Louboutin ‘Tres Frais’ satin sandals is in her wheelhouse.

It’s a lot of look, but I’m on board with everything, save for the sheer top.

2018 Critics’ Choice Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Following the 2018 Golden Globes black dress code, the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) showcased a range of colours, styles and designers.

Reese Witherspoon: The actress’s most memorable looks often have bold colours, so I was surprised she opted for a black Prada dress. That being said, I thought the short length really worked for her, with the embellishment adding some vicariousness. The Roger Vivier shoes enhanced the playful mood.

Emma Roberts: Her choppy blonde fringe was certainly a talking point, but the elegant simplicity of her Giorgio Armani gown didn’t go unnoticed. The strapless column fit perfectly. She styled it in a very modern way with the gold-toned accessories and by leaving the neckline bare.

Emilia Clarke: Like Reese, the ‘Game of Thrones’ star opted for a shorter black dress. She wore a Dolce & Gabbana frock with Gianvito Rossi sandals. I would have loved to see the look completed with a red lip as it would have added some warmth while playing up the brand’s Italian film star aesthetic.
