Red Carpet Fashion Awards

It’s been over a month since we last saw Thandie Newton. The British actress attended the ‘Death and the Maiden’ press after-party in London last night.

On her last outing she wore a Giles Resort 2012 dress; this time she wore a Giles Spring 2012 dress.

As always she looks absolutely divine.

I love the mix of colours, textures and prints here.

Her dress has a leopard print and silk print top with a red waistband and a silver metallic skirt.

I just love the unexpected pop of aqua Nicholas Kirkwood pumps.

This isn’t an easy look to pull off with so much going on, plus she doesn’t play it safe with black pumps.

It’s going to be a hard week, but I would love to squeeze this into BDOTW.

Lily Cole posed on the red carpet at InStyle & HFPA’s annual event during the 2011 Toronto Film Festival last month wearing a Giles Fall 2011 dress.

The model/actress teamed her long-sleeved dress featuring Paul Delaroche’s painting of ‘The Execution of Lady Jane Grey’ with a black waistband and eggplant pumps.

Pixie Geldof wore the same dress when she sat front row at the Giles Spring 2012 presentation in London a few days later.

The social butterfly tied her hair back into a loose bun and accessorized with gold bag and black Miu Miu peep-toes.

I love that Pixie wore her hair off her shoulders to show off the details on her dress, but I think this dress works better on someone statuesque like Lily.

Lily’s eggplant coloured heels also complement the dress better so she wins for me.

Lily Cole posed on the red carpet at the InStyle & The HFPA’s Annual Event during the 2011 Toronto Film Festival yesterday.

The model and actress wore a Giles Fall 2011 dress.

Her long-sleeved dress features Paul Delaroche’s painting of ‘The Execution of Lady Jane Grey.’

A thin black belt nips in her tiny waist.

Lily completed her look with a pair of studded eggplant heels.

I’m not fond of this look as Lily is not selling it to me.  I find this totally ironic considering she’s a model and it should come naturally to her.

Her hairstyle is doing nothing for me either.

Thandie Newton also attended the Coach dinner party to celebrate the opening of the first European flagship store on London’s New Bond Street last night.

The actress chose a sophisticated silk floral Giles Resort 2012 dress which features cream panels around the neckline and waist.

Thandie accessorized with silver Miu Miu glitter heels, a chic nude Calvin Klein clutch and GEM earrings.

I love the clutch and earrings, plus with her pretty makeup and swept up hair this is a stunning look.

My first thought when I saw Carey Mulligan in this Giles Resort 2011 dress at the 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala was, “How can Shia LaBeouf end his relationship with Carey when she’s 5 months pregnant?”

Her maroon draped Giles dress is incredibly unflattering, but I’m hoping it’s just the angle of the photo.

Either way me no likey as the dress does nothing for her.

Here we have a British supermodel and a British pop star-turned fashion designer, supporting British designer Giles Deacon.

Agyness Deyn was the first to wear this gunmetal grey Giles Fall 2009 dress when she attended the “Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition Preview Party” last June.

We can see almost every inch of her legs in this ultra mini dress which she wore with black and white Christian Louboutin Differa sandals.

Victoria Beckham loves this dress so much she’s worn it 3 times.

Firstly in a salmon colour during New York’s Fashion Night Out, then on a shoot for LG and most recently when she attended the Diane Von Furstenberg and Claridge’s party.

VB paired her dress with Brian Atwood ‘RZ’ thigh-high boots and a Lanvin Oulala satin clutch.

Even though Victoria’s had plenty of practice getting this look to work for her she wins because Aggie’s deep berry shade of lippie doesn’t work for me, nor did I like the bleach blonde do with the growing dark roots.
