Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Fashion and tennis collided at the WTA Pre-Wimbledon Party, held at The Roof Gardens in Kensington, London last night.

We have already seen Maria Sharapova. Here are the rest of the attendees who took to the green carpet.

Serena Williams: The tennis ace was once again dressed by Burberry for this annual event. Her purple taffeta frock with black sheer straps was styled with black t-bar sandals and a selection of silver jewels. The thing I love most about her look are her voluminous curls.

Ana Ivanovic: The young star wore a pretty Matthew Williamson feather-accented frock which complemented her statuesque frame. The stunning lace dress also features a cluster of gold paillettes and beaded details. It may seem like quite a lot of detail, but she carries it off with great aplomb. She accessorized with Christian Louboutin matching heels with a gold toe-cap and a mahogany clutch.
Whilst I love the elegant updo, I wish she applied fake tan to her feet. I guess that is what happens when training in sunny conditions wearing thick tennis socks.

Anne Keothavong: The British number one ranked player wore a baroque-inspired Alexander McQueen ‘Fil’ coupé jacquard green-and-black dress. She styled her look with tights (it’s been a while since I saw tights on the red carpet), black pumps (the same can’t be said for those) and a sweeping ponytail.

Jamie Winstone hit the red carpet in Leicester Square last night for the London premiere of her latest movie ‘Elfie Hopkins’.

The actress, who has shaved her head to play a soldier in the new series of ‘Mad Dogs’, wore a Giles Spring 2012 dress on the red carpet.

Her red-and-beige short-sleeve floor-length dress was styled with a large statement ring and complemented with a matte red lip colour.

When you go for such a bold cut like this your makeup needs to be flawless, which it is in this case.

I just wish she’d smoothed out the dress before having the photo taken as the crease around the waist cuts her in the middle, preventing her from having an elongated figure.

In short, I find this dress very unflattering for her.

I will give Dianna Agron credit for doing what so many other actresses didn’t do at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards: take a risk.

She donned a fiery red Giles Deacon Spring 2012 gown with laser-cut swan cutouts across the bodice and ruffled tiers cascading to the floor.

The mumsy hair doesn’t quite work with the gown, plus I think the look would’ve been better served by someone with more height like Erin O’Connor.

Matte red lips and diamond jewels completed her look.

Do you think her risk paid off?

Jools Holland hosted his ‘Annual Hootenanny’ on New Year’s Eve on BBC2 with a host of musical stars to mark the close of 2011.

Among the guests was Jessie J who sang her hit single ‘Price Tag’ with the support of Jools’ R&B Orchestra.

The British singer, who is known for her eccentric stage and red carpet looks, toned things down by wearing a sophisticated Giles Spring 2011 gown.

I have been dying for someone to wear this stunning pink gown with Swarovski Elements since I saw the dress up close at a press preview.

Apart from the embellishments and fringed details the dress also has teddy bear appliqués on the shoulders.

With her trademark sleek bob Jessie completed her look with silver pumps.

Here are the rest of the stars who attended the 2011 British Fashion Awards.

Kristen McMenamy: The American model wore an ice-white Alexander McQueen Fall 2011 organza pearl embroidered dress to go with her ice-white hair.  Her matching McQueen accessories included a filigree skull clutch, python boots and fur scarf.

Stella McCartney: The designer was, of course, in a look from her recent Spring 2012 collection. Her printed jumpsuit epitomizes her chic, laidback style of dressing. Iron-straight hair and black sandals provided the finishing touches.

Caroline Sieber: Like Alexa Chung, the stylist also wore a look from the Christopher Kane Spring 2012 collection. Her iridescent plunging floral-print mini dress was unimaginatively paired with black pumps.
