Sarah Jessica Parker In Giles – 2013 Met Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker

We knew we could count on fashion-girl Sarah Jessica Parker to fully embody the ‘Punk: Chaos to Couture’ theme of the 2013 Met Gala in New York City on Monday.

Making one of the most grand and unforgettable entrances of the evening, SJP’s look was head-and-shoulders above the rest—literally.

She donned a paint-splattered, gold-leaf gown from the Giles Fall 2013 collection, but she added far more theatrics to the abstract-printed runway look with a custom Philip Treacy headpiece.

Rather than coax her hair into a mohawk, she crowned her locks with this radical fascinator and, in so doing, cemented her status as the punk-belle of the ball.

With the voluminous, high-low cut of the dress, her very-visible, over-the-knee Christian Louboutin velvet boots would have been a talking point, if it weren’t for that ‘hawk.

The same goes for her Fred Leighton jewels. No amount of sparkle could compete with the glinting gold of that hat or the gown.

Whew! Did SJP blow you away with her ferocious, no-holds-barred look?

Thandie Newton In Giles – 2013 Golden Globe Awards

Thandie Newton In Giles - 2013 Golden Globe Awards

Thandie Newton wore her second dress by a British designer at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA last night.

She sparkled in a Giles Spring 2013 mini dress, when everyone else donned a gown.

Thandie’s high-neck tulle cocktail dress, featuring all-over Swarovski crystal embellishments in a smashed-glass pattern, was styled with lilac ankle-strap peep-toes and a silver box clutch.

Had this dress been modified into a gown it would’ve been sensational.

Do you love this look or should Thandie have saved this for the after-show parties?

Kerry Washington In Giles – ‘Django Unchained’ London Premiere

Kerry Washington In Giles - 'Django Unchained' London Premiere

Kerry Washington attended the London premiere of ‘Django Unchained’ held at the Empire Leicester Square this evening.

Her Giles Spring 2013 gown gave me chills as she glided down the white carpet looking like a fantasy winter wonderland princess.

Kerry’s unique gown featured a fitted bodice and puffy horse print skirt with a rise-and-fall hemline.

Once again she donned white pumps by Christian Louboutin which worked perfectly with the theme of her look, plus she carried a silver box clutch.

I love the deep berry lip and the wavy updo. I can’t find a single fault with this look.

She has been perfection personified during this tour; I’m so sad this is the last stop.

The Spice Girls At The 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony

Let’s face it, the London Olympic Closing Ceremony was a bit of a snoozefest. Judging by the reaction on Twitter, I wasn’t the only one hanging on for The Spice Girls’ performance.

Posh, Ginger, Baby, Sporty and Scary didn’t let us down.

Arriving in the blinged-out black taxis we had seen them rehearsing in earlier in the week, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton reunited to sing the hit that made them famous, ‘Wannabe’, as well as ‘Spice Up Your Life’.

The Spice Girls didn’t wear Giles Deacon, but Victoria did.

Her sexy strapless gown with tiers, ruffles and gold embroidery was inspired by look 3 from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection. I would’ve loved to have seen her in something more colourful, but Posh was always known for her LBDs.Read More…
