Red Carpet Fashion Awards

“Lost” actress Emilie de Ravin walked the red carpet last night at the New York premiere of “Remember Me”.

No doubt all eyes were on her co-star in this movie Robert Pattinson, but I was more interested in her Gianfranco Ferré Spring 2010 dress.

The cream asymmetrical dress is also draped and knotted, but doesn’t feel to busy.

I love the dress, not so crazy about her Burberry Prorsum’s twisted band platform sandals as I wish they were slightly lighter in colour.

Maybe these particular heels were worn to complement the twisted detail on the skirt of her dress, but I would’ve picked a strappy sandal that didn’t look so heavy.

It’s been a while since Emilie looked this good on the red carpet, but is it enough for you to consider her for BDOTW?

The thing about being a blogger is that you can go from front row, to 5th row to standing all in one day and we gratefully accept every position we get.

Bryan Boy more known to frequent the front row, but also stands at some shows gave me a valuable advice. “If you are standing, stand by the photographers pit”.

It’s the best piece of advice I’ve been given because not only do you get to take great pictures, but you get to see the models up close and see the stunning details.

I stood by the photographers pit at the Gianfranco Ferre Fall 2010 show, which was one of my favourites of Milan Fashion Week.

Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi presented an amazing collection of mostly black, nudes, gold, tan and beige.

I don’t know why the fashion world doesn’t rave about these two very talented designers.

This was one of their more wearable collections to date, with many sleek tailored pieces which were both understated and timeless.

I felt that the elegant gowns were sign that they are making serious bid for red carpet contention. I loved the black one-sleeved black gown with a gold-braided leather side panel.

Apart from gowns we were also presented with high waisted pants, sweater dresses with leather sleeves, wool coats with furry sleeves (very much a trend in Milan) black leather skirt suits, leather dresses, skirts, woven heels and bags.

Touches of gold were evident though-out the collection.

At the re-see the following day, I couldn’t help for gush over the Look 27, Look 28 and Look 29 which were fully beaded – by hand.

Amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail. I have a new designer crush.

Tonight at the 2010 BAFTAs, I discovered why I don’t like black on the red carpet.

Because when photographed it does no justice to the wearer.

Rebecca Hall was A-FRIGGIN-MAZING on the red carpet tonight wearing a peaked shouldered Gianfranco Ferré Fall 2009 gown, but none of the detail nor the splendor of this look translates onto the photo.

I literally scream “Nooooo” when I saw this picture.

The dress was cut low to the back and it also had a satin fold detail on the train.

Boucheron jewels completed the look.

One of my top 3 of the night.

Anna Kendrick attended the 82nd Annual Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA yesterday.

Anna is currently up for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Up in the Air” co-staring George Clooney.

The brunette actress looked beautiful wearing a Gianfranco Ferre Spring 2010 ivory silk organza top paired with the same skirt from the Spring 2010 collection.

I much prefer the runway styling, but I appreciate that Anna made this look work for her.

The peplum would’ve made her look much shorter, so tucking it in was to her advantage plus it gives her more shape.

Gold accessories including Jimmy Choo “Frost” heels and a Jimmy Choo “Tube” clutch complete her look.

When I pictured looks from the Gianfranco Ferré Spring 2010 collection on the red carpet, teen actress Lily Collins wouldn’t have been the first person to come to mind.

At the Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globe After Party last night she wore a one-shoulder coffee coloured dress from the Gianfranco Ferré Spring 2010 collection.

The dress with a swirling detail was paired with matching peep-toe heels and a matching clutch.

This is a cute look for her, but I’m not so sure she should’ve picked a dress that was the same shade of colour as her hair.

I would’ve like this better if she had swept her hair off her shoulder.
