Olivia Munn Hosts The 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Olivia Munn hosted the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11), and wore a myriad of delightful looks for the occasion.

Firstly, she hit the carpet in a Prada gown. The minimalist halter style was enlivened by the “dripping” embellishment on the bodice. It could have become a tangled mess, especially as she wore her hair down, but everything came together beautifully. With such an ornate neckline, she accessorized sparingly with a few rings.

Next, the hostess went for head-to-toe embellishment in a Balmain Pre-Fall 2018 mini. The look had all the hallmarks of the brand including a sexy silhouette and a dramatic opulence. Despite the remarkable amount of detailing on the dress, there is still a lightness to the look courtesy of her red lipstick and the high zigzag hemline.

Yara Shahidi In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

I know many of you feel that Yara Shahidi was robbed when it comes to Best Dressed Teen of 2017, and I that feeling may be be further compounded when you see her look for the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards.

The ‘Grown-ish’ star was a vision of perfection wearing a whisper-weight silk-georgette Giambattista Valli Spring 2017 Couture gown, which is a timely choice, as Pantone named ultraviolet light the colour of 2018.

Yara’s gown was also peppered with hues of lavender and ecru to accent the dress with a dose of painterly influence, plus a burst bronze stones which meant she could go minimal on the accessories.

There were many great gowns on this red carpet; this is firmly seated in the top 3.

2018 Golden Globe Awards Parties

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards were a study in many glamorous renditions of the colour black. And, for the most part, the Globes after parties followed suit with the hue taking on all measures of late-night allure.

Diane Kruger: After a regally glamorous entrance at the Globes, Diane was at the InStyle and Warner Bros. post-party, where she imbued black, cropped trousers with a bit of creamy lace in this Alexander McQueen Spring 2018 ensemble. I have a feeling that the tattered, asymmetrical effect of the lace bustier top will turn some away from the more experimental look.

Tessa Thompson: At HBO’s official after party in LA, Tessa suited up in an Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2017 Couture menswear-inspired look that delivered plenty of intriguing edge when styled with the MATEO jewelry and bauble-accented sandals. I was happy for the sheer shirting underneath to balance the boxier shape of the tuxedo blazer.

Nina Dobrev: The actress flaunted her toned abs at the InStyle party in this Ralph Lauren cutout gown. Even with the futuristic liquid-silver paneling, something about the look read a bit dated. Alexis Bittar choker completed her look.

Kendall Jenner In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Kendall Jenner made an appearance at the 2018 Golden Globes on Sunday (January 7), joining Tracee Ellis Ross and Alexis Bledel.

The model made a bold statement in a Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 Couture gown. The inky black colour was offset by the dramatic train and shorter front.

I appreciate the drama of the look, but crave more fluidity in the skirt and train. I also think this would have been better on a red carpet like the Met Gala or saved for a time when Kendall was the guest of honour.

Lorraine Schwartz dangling earrings topped off the look.

Sofia Carson In Giambattista Valli – ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ LA Premiere

Sofia Carson attended the ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ premiere on Saturday (December 9) in Los Angeles, California.

Following ‘Descendants 2’ promo tour, Sofia has gone from sugary, to full on glamour.

I love how her Giambattista Valli black gown is elevated with an embellished neckline for a dramatic and timelessly glamorous finish.

Some may feel the earrings were a tad too much bling here, but they heighten the appeal for me.

Poppy Delevingne In Giambattista Valli Couture – The Fashion Awards 2017

Poppy Delevingne made a strong case for winter florals at The Fashion Awards on Monday (December 4) in London.

The model floated down the red carpet wearing a Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 Couture high-low gown.

While we have seen different versions of this ethereal look with a romantic floral print via Kendall Jenner and Taraji P. Henson, Poppy is the only one to amp up the styling with a diamante choker and deep berry lip.
