‘Fruitvale Station’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

The ‘Fruitvale Station’ premiere took place during Cannes Film Festival this evening following the photocall earlier today.

Octavia Spencer: As expected, the actress wore a Tadashi Shoji custom gown. We’ve seen the actress don many gowns in shade of cream, lavender, black and blue, but never a fiery hue like this red tulle-and-lace draped cape sleeve gown. The colour is so striking and the style so very flattering.

Ahna O’Reilly: The actress selected an ivory fully sequined Elie Saab one-sleeve gown with cut-outs at the waist.

Melonie Diaz: Like Octavia, Melonie also opted for a bold colour wearing an Emilio Pucci sea-blue chiffon gown accented with a black beaded belt and styled with silver jewels. Once again she worked a bold lip colour.

Analeigh Tipton In Georges Hobeika Couture – BVLGARI Celebration of Elizabeth Taylor’s collection of BVLGARI Jewelry

Analeigh Tipton joined a host of A-listers on the red carpet on Wednesday evening for BVLGARI’s celebration of Elizabeth Taylor’s collection of BVLGARI jewelry at BVLGARI Beverly Hills boutique in Los Angeles, California.

The relative newbie makes a lot of great choices on the red carpet, which was further proved when she wore this Georges Hobeika Fall 2012 Couture dress.

Her unique raspberry lace and chiffon v-neck cocktail dress, embellished with

velvet strips, velvet flower petals and pearls, was styled with a Charlotte Olympia clutch and Rupert Sanderson peachy-coloured ‘Elba’ pumps, which are still a celebrity favourite.

Even though this was a jewelry event, she kept hers to a minimum, knowing that the dress sparkled all on its own.

Julianne Hough In Georges Hobeika Couture – ‘Safe Haven’ New York Premiere

The one thing we can give Julianne Hough credit for is that her style is not predictable; she’s always willing to try something new, both hair- and style-wise.

That was most definitely the case when she attended the New York premiere of her latest movie, ‘Safe Haven’, held at the Landmark Sunshine Cinemas yesterday evening, wearing a Georges Hobeika Spring 2013 pants ensemble.

Her pretty organza and Moroccan-crepe ensemble features the designer’s signature floral motif and Swarovski crystals.

I really want to like this simply because Julianne tried something new, but I think I would’ve preferred this look had the top stopped at the waist.

The metallic pumps were a perfect addition to her unique look.

Jayma Mays In Georges Hobeika Couture – 2013 SAG Awards

‘Glee’ girl Jayma Mays left the halls of her high-school-based television show far behind at the 2013 SAG Awards red carpet, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California tonight.

The actress must have been inspired by the enchanted, feminine rumway of Georges Hobeika during Paris Couture Fashion Week, as she selected this alabaster number directly from the recently debuted Spring 2013 Couture collection.

I liked this gown on the runway, with its smattering of glinting embellishment and its lightly flared fishtail hem.

But I’m not loving how it falls on Jayma’s figure. Some of the line of the dress is lost in translation and veers on the boxy side. Yet the artistry of the glittering design cannot be denied.

Jimmy Choo ‘Raven’ sandals and silver jewels accessorized her look.

A-plus or just a passing grade?

Mena Suvari In Georges Hobeika Couture – Jamie Kennedy’s New Year’s Eve Party

Mena Suvari attended the ‘First Night 2013′ New Year’s Eve party hosted by Jamie Kennedy at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Monday night in Hollywood, California.

The ‘American Pie’ actress wore a Georges Hobeika Fall 2012 Couture frock.

While the colour is very festive, I have to say I’m not too fond of the high neckline on this raspberry cocktail dress with a full chiffon skirt and open back.

I would’ve been tempted to fold that neckpiece under the top to give it a bateau neckline or she should’ve worn her hair up like the runway model.

Black accessories, including a clutch and ankle-strap Monika Chiang pumps, plus wavy tresses falling down her back completed her look.

Who Wore Georges Hobeika Couture Better…Brittany Snow or Yao Chen

Brittany Snow wore this gorgeous periwinkle-blue Georges Hobeika Fall 2012 Couture dress to the ‘Pitch Perfect’ LA premiere back in September.

The enticing colour of her Swarovski-beaded and organza-and-velvet floral appliquéd dress made her baby-blue eyes pop. The key to pulling off this look was effortless styling, which the actress mastered.

Sadly the same can’t be said for Yao Chen.

The actress wore the same dress a month later to the L’Officiel 2012 China Elegance Awards in Beijing, China and sucked all the elegance out of the frock with her heavy-handed styling of the look.

Even the blue nails were a step too far, but she also added a nude Bulgari clutch and cobalt-blue Christian Louboutin ‘Daffodile’ pumps.

Brittany wins by a country mile.
