amfAR Los Angeles 2017

A crush of stars came out for amfAR Los Angeles 2017 on Friday (October 13) in Beverly Hills, California.

Heidi Klum: At this point, I’m always prepared to be disappointed with a Heidi look, but she actually stepped up to the plate in this Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture gown that was a far more modern and sophisticated form of glittery glam for her.  The look was of course styled with Lorraine Schwartz  jewels.

Dita Von Teese: Designer Ulyana Sergeenko and Dita are a perfect match, as can be seen in this Demi-Couture gown that prizes the feminine form with its provocative bustier silhouette and seductive thigh slit.

Kate Hudson: Playing to her buzz cut, Kate kept it cool and mod in this David Koma Resort 2018 gown that scintillated with mirror-like embellishment.  A Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch completed her look.

Tessa Thompson In Galvan – ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Premiere After Party

After a stunning, BDOTW red-carpet entrance at the ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ premiere, Tessa Thompson kept the glamour alive and well at the after party on Tuesday (October 10) in LA, where she was mixing and mingling with Chris Hemsworth.

This Galvan Spring 2017 gown was like liquid gold, and I loved this softer side of the metallic.

This type of satiny fabric is not always the easiest to pull off, but Tessa kept the sleekly minimal theme at the forefront.

A light sprinkling of John Hardy jewels finished off the look with a subtle edge.

That said, I’m still captivated by her first look of the evening.

Cartier Celebrates Resonances de Cartier Red Carpet Roundup

Cartier’s celebration of Resonances de Cartier on Tuesday (October 10) in New York City was brimming with lovely ladies in whimsical gowns and showstopping jewels.

Sofia Coppola: I always look forward to seeing what the director will wear on the red carpet and she didn’t disappoint in Chanel Pre-Fall 2017. The sheer dress was decorated with polka dots and sequin appliqués and had a whimsical quality. The ensemble was tied up with a black ribbon bow around her waist and shimmering jewels.

Nicky Hilton:
The expectant heiress looked charming in a Valentino Pre-Fall 2017 gown. The long-sleeved maxi style with heart print mixed bohemian and romantic elements for a joyful effect. The silver belt enhanced the sequin trim in the dress while showing off her growing baby bump.

Jessica Hart:
The model looked liked she stepped out in liquid silver thanks to her Galvan Pre-Fall 2017 gown. Her pin-straight hair enhanced the fluidity of the dress. The mesh panels added a new twist to the halter style without compromising the dress’s lines.

Irving Penn Exhibition Private Viewing Hosted by Vogue

A private viewing, hosted by Vogue, for the Irving Penn exhibition at the Grand Palais was held on Sunday (October 1) during Paris Fashion Week.

Adwoa Aboah: Taking a break from walking the runways at Paris Fashion Week, Adwoa posed in a Richard Quinn Spring 2018 look that offered an invigorating, happy mix of ditzy florals. You would think with so many bold, competing prints that this would translate as disjointed. But, on the contrary, I loved this look on Adwoa, and I also credit its success to her minimal approach to the styling, with a black sandal and red pout all she needed. Flower power, indeed.

Kylie Minogue: I think it’s safe to say that Kylie put this Alice McCall ‘More Than A Woman’ fringe gown to work for her—as it was made to be spun around. As fun as it was, I was a bit tassel fatigued and the muted, mauve-pink colour wasn’t my favourite for the vibrancy of the entertainer, but she attempted to bring a splash of vividness via her lipstick.

Dita von Teese: With a look that riffed on the field-of-poppies print from the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2017 Couture collection, Dita maximized proportions with this look. I have mixed feelings on the balloon sleeves, as they might be lumped into a costume-y circus category. But, the colours were striking in contrast to the black pencil skirt.

Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’

The list of lovelies at Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’ on Friday (September 8) in New York City was seemingly unending, as a number of stars joined Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, and Kim Kardashian.

Gigi Hadid: Her hyper-embellished Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2017 ensemble, styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, was so intricate and powerful of a statement that it really didn’t require the rhinestone clogs.

Kaia Gerber: Cindy Crawford’s model daughter was all grown up in a slinky Kristian Aadnevik Fall 2017 mini that had her looking like her mom more and more.

Kendall Jenner: There was little left to the imagination in this Dolce & Gabbana ruched, sheer number. Yet, ironically in spite of the see-through, I couldn’t help but still get a certain sophisticated, glam vibe with the look, which I will chalk up to its silhouette along with Kendall’s Old-Hollywood waves, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and Jimmy Choo sandals.

Kate Beckinsale stops by ‘Live With Kelly & Ryan’ in Galvan

Following a busy day promoting ‘The Only Living Boy in New York’ yesterday, Kate Beckinsale was back on the campaign trail this morning (August 8), for her guest appearance on ‘Live with Kelly & Ryan’.

The actress channelled her inner elegance wearing a Galvan Pre-Fall 2017 top with co-ordinating wide-leg trousers.

I think this might just be my favourite of the four looks, such is the supreme chic appeal of the outfit.

The platforms keep the length hovering at ground level, while her trademark ponytail ensures that cute, neatly tied bow at the back is on full display.

J’Adore in so many ways.
