Red Carpet Fashion Awards

The Fendi Spring 2011 presentation was definitely one of my top 10 shows of the season.

I was seated in the 2nd row in front of the photographers pit.

The only way I could’ve had a better seat was in the front row of this area or on the runway itself, which is why I managed to get such great pictures.

The theme for this presentation was “the burning summer of passion”.

We were presented with a fresh and feminine collection which had striking pops of colour, gingham prints, floral prints and geometric cuts.

The “cappuccino” print – which also created the backdrop for this show – resembled coffee stains on a white tablecloth or a burnt piece of paper.

Most of the pieces were roomy with loose cropped pants, demure below the knee skirts and tunic dresses.

The lantern sleeves were definitely the highlight of this collection. They were sophisticated and cool and worked well with the 70s feel of this collection.

I was dying over the colour-blocked Fendi sunglasses.

I’m definitely going to be sporting these come Spring, and I have a feeling Rachel Zoe will be dying over them too.

Other key accessories included linked bracelets with the Fendi logo, which were both gold and multi-coloured.

The shoes ranged from a colourful 4 inches to a chunky platform wedge.

The bags…oh the bags.

Like the rest of the collection they featured in a range of vivid colours accented with the house logo and gold hardware.

The khaki and beige clutch which Freja was holding shot to the top of my wish list.

Favourites: White dress with the colourful floral print and cropped faux fur cardi paired with a white top and cappuccino print long skirt

Who I See Wearing This Collection:
Rachel Zoe, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dasha Zhukova, Kate Beckinsale, Carey Mulligan, Bianca Brandolini D’Adda, Jennifer Aniston, Katie Holmes and Blake Lively

Uncle Karl.

Clemence Poesy is the new girl on the ‘Gossip Girl’ block.

If you are struggling to place her, the French actress and model was Fleur Delacour in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’.

In the few pictures I’ve seen of Clemence on set, she always appears to be with Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass).

Could she be his new love interest?

Time will tell.

The most I’ve discovered about her character is that her name will be “Eva”.

What’s safe to assume is that ‘Eva’ will be following the other girls by wearing off-the-runway looks.

Here we see her wearing a Fendi Spring 2010 embroidered cap-sleeve dress which has been lined from the runway.

The look isn’t particularly exciting plus it’s washing her out, but I’m sure we’ll get to see more of Clemence in the future.

‘Gossip Girl’ returns September 13 on The CW in the US.

Jada Pinkett-Smith looked gorgeous as she left New York City hotel enroute to appear on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” yesterday.

The actress is currently promoting her show “HawthoRNe” which premieres tonight on TNT in the US.

Like Cameron Diaz, Jada is embracing summer wearing a white Fendi strapless peplum mini dress.

Even though we can’t see much of Jada’s dress due to her rather large Prada clutch which takes up a third of the dress, her look is so much better belted.

On Net-A-Porter.com the belt-less dress has no shape.

Christian Louboutin Eva Diva slingbacks complete the look.

Tilda Swinton arrived was in New York this week to attend the premiere of her new movie, “I Am Love”.

The British actress is known for pleasing one person when it comes to red carpet dressing – herself.

Which is why she’s not afraid to wear this navy Fendi Fall 2010 turtleneck dress.

As always it’s a brave choice, but I’m not crazy about it.

What puts me off this look is the hemline.

I wish she had left it loose like on the runway instead of tightening it.

I also preferred the navy/nude pairing on the runway to Tilda’s all over navy look.

Not everyone wore Gucci to the Vanity Fair/Gucci Party honoring Martin Scorsese.

Juliette Binoche opted for Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture ensemble which included a black pant suit paired with a ombre feathered top.

Unlike Naomi Campbell, Juliette doesn’t look like big bird in her ensemble.

Karolina Kurkova wore a slightly modified Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 dress.

Her black sheer dress doesn’t have the turquoise beaded details around the waist and neckline.

As much as I like this look, I don’t think her hairstyle works with the dress.

Dasha Zhukova lighten things up wearing a nude Fendi Spring 2010 dress.

Her lace panel floor-length dress with a draped front has been worn by Kerry Washington.

Kate Beckinsale looked stunning wearing a Gianfranco Ferré one-shoulder black gown.

Her hair is pulled back to show off her gold earrings which complement her black and gold Louis Vuitton clutch.

Diane Lane doesn’t seem to age.

The beautiful actress wore a Monique Lhuillier one-shoulder navy gown with a draped bodice and a jewel accent on the hip.

She dazzled with Van Cleef & Arpels jewels.

My sister is currently so obsessed with Jennifer Hudson, that she has her picture on her vision board.

That’s because the star continues to look fabulous after her “Weight Watchers” transformation.

Here she wears a cute plunging LBD with a ruffled skirt. I just love the necklace with this look.

Jennifer is at Cannes Film Festival to promote her new movie “Winnie” which is based on the novel “Winnie Mandela: A Life”.

Can’t wait for that one.  I can already smell another Oscar.

Bae Doo-na attended the press conference her new movie “Air Doll” this week.

The actress wore a head-to-toe Fendi Spring 2010 runway look.

The look included a sheer appliqué cotton blouse, a voluminous bubble-hem skirt with a paperbag waist and those lusty worthy tulle sandals.

Some of you might be screaming that she ripped this right off the runway without interpreting the look to her own personal style, but when she looks this good in the look I think it’s hard to argue because she looks amazing.

Why break up all the pieces when it look so great together?

The heels however are different colourwise and she’s tied them in a different way to the runway.

I love the paperbag waist.  I just got a salmon skirt from H&M with a similar waistline, and I can’t wait for the sun to come out so I can start wearing it.

I would change nothing about this look.  She’s pretty much perfect and worthy to be consider for BDOTW.

You can shop her head-to-toe look over at Shop Her Closet.
