Who Wore Farah Angsana Better? Maria Canals-Barrera or Katherine Heigl

Actress Maria Canals-Barrera looked breath-taking at the 2010 Creative Arts Emmy Awards back in August.

She glowed under the Californian sun wearing a beautiful navy Farah Angsana gown with a pleated detail on the bust.

Her finishing touches included gorgeous bubblegum pink lips and a navy sparkling clutch.

Katherine Heigl wore the same dress to the 2010 CMA Awards.

She opted for a silver clutch and sapphire jewels.

Maria wins for me because I think with a neckline that detailed Katherine didn’t need the necklace and I will never get used to her as a blonde.

Katherine Heigl In Farah Angsana – 2010 CMA Awards

My first reaction to seeing Katherine Heigl on the red carpet at the 2010 CMA Awards last night was, thank god she’s returned to being blonde.

This year she’s changed her hair colour for movies on several occasions, and I’m sure many of you will agree that blonde works best for her.

She glided down the red carpet wearing a breath-taking Farah Angsana Fall 2010 gown.

The vivid navy blue strapless gown has beautiful simple details like the pleating at the bust and a train which fans out from the thigh.

I’m not crazy about the necklace, but I love the earrings.

Jimmy Choo ‘Jigsaw’ platform sandals and a matching sparkling Jimmy Choo ‘Tube’ clutch completes her look.

Farah Angsana Spring 2011

Farah Angsana’s Spring 2011 was inspired by her homeland of Indonesia.

Green for the tropical forests. Blue defines the maritime nation. The earth tones for the colour of Indonesia’s fertile soil.

The collection had an extreme mix of elegant gowns and super short mini dresses.

Some of the minis were so short they’d make Blake Lively blush.

Farah’s intricate embroidery details was very much on display during this presentation.

Swarovski crystals, metal chains, gold beads, sequins and lace appliqués adorned many pieces.

We were presented with a corset paired with capri pants which were full embellished. Tribal print tops paired with silk leggings, cocktail dresses with feather details and a cute light blue dress with cap sleeves.

Favourites: Blue silk gown with the tulle Swarovski crystal embellished capelet and gold strapless draped gown

Runway To Gossip Girl – Blake Lively In Farah Angsana & Nanette Lepore

Thankfully I have Sky+ otherwise I would miss all my favourite programmes.

Last night I watched about 2 hours of Coronation Street back-to-back – finally Tony Gordon has been found out – and Gossip Girl which usually airs in the UK on a Wednesday night.

The episode was called “How To Succeed in Bassness” were Chuck threw a 1920′s-themed party for the opening of his club.

It was at the event we got to see Blake Lively as Serena van der Woodsen looking absolutely amazing wearing vintage silver embellished dress. She paired her dress with a Farah Angsana mint silk cape embellished with crystal embroidery from the designer’s Fall 2009 collection.

Her dress was paired with nude fishnet tights, and Christian Louboutin Very Galaxy peep-toes.

In another scene in the same episode we saw Serena at work with Blair listening to Serena’s telephone conversation with Chuck.

Serena was wearing a silky Nanette Lepore Darjeeling dress, with gold sequin embellishments, a sexy keyhole detail at bateau neckline, cute puffed three-quarter sleeves, and a flattering keyhole detail.
