Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here, the latest look at the guys who have caught our eye.

Armie Hammer: The actor was at the London Film Critics Circle Awards 2018 on Sunday (January 28), where he suited up in an Etro ensemble. I like the coloration of this green striped jacket, especially as it brought out his eyes.

John Legend: Does it get more dapper than this? I think not, as the singer debuted a dandy Gucci plaid suit in Soho, New York City on Tuesday (January 30). It was ever so stylized in all the right ways with the striped bow tie, colour-block tassel loafers, and bold sunglasses.

Timothée Chalamet: Joining Armie at the London Film Critics Circle Awards, the young actor kept his signature look going strong with the slim, cropped proportions of this Berluti suit and black T-shirt. This bold blue colour was striking on him.

‘Black Panther’ World Premiere Menswear Roundup

There were plenty of men in the mix at the star-studded world premiere of Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ on Monday (January 29) in Hollywood, California.

Chadwick Boseman: He plays the title character in the film, and his Emporio Armani Spring 2018 look was indeed royal. I love the relaxed-regal approach of the double-breasted metallic floral jacket styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Cyprien’ boots’ and David Yurman accessories.

Donald Glover: Go bold or go home. Leave it to Donald to positively command an orange power suit. This stylized Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2018 design was loud and proud in all the right ways—from the panther-esque printed shirt, to the monogrammed, embroidered badge with his initials on the jacket, and right down to the slipper shoes.

Daniel Kaluuya: I like that Daniel wore a traditional Ugandan kanzu to the red carpet, styling the formalwear with a burgundy Burberry Soho blazer, Christian Louboutin loafers, and David Yurman accessories.

Yara Shahidi In Etro – ‘Black Panther’ World Premiere

Yara Shahidi showed her support for the ‘Black Panther’ film at the world premiere on Monday (January 29) in Hollywood, California.

The actress looked like an Ethiopian queen in her Etro dress with the multicoloured tribal-inspired embroidery and tassel-trims lending a well-travelled vibe.

Teasing her ‘fro to the heavens only help authenticate her East African look further; with Christian Louboutin ‘Loubi Queen’ gold sandals and Jennifer Fisher jewels rounding out her regal look.

Menswear Weekend Roundup

The weekend brought with it a number of menswear looks, from Paris to New York City, with many guys attending pre-Grammy events.

Timothée Chalamet: The actor was at the Paris premiere of ‘Call Me By Your Name’ on Friday (January 26), where he switched up the suit-and-tie look of late with this Berluti ensemble. I like how he effortlessly married the sleek leather blazer and cropped trousers with a white T-shirt for a casual flair.

Jared Leto: Before taking to the stage to perform at the MusiCares Person of the Year honouring Fleetwood Mac on Friday (January 26) in New York City, Jared was on the red carpet in this Helmut Lang Seen by Shayne Oliver Spring 2018 look—thus answering all our questions if it was indeed possible for him to wear something other than clashing colours, crazy prints, and floor-dragging pants. This pristine all-white number is his best look in quite some time.

Shawn Mendes: At the GRAMMY Salute to Industry Icons Honoring Jay-Z on Saturday (January 27) in New York City, Shawn wore a sleek Givenchy Spring 2018 black suit that I loved all the more because he kept the gold lip-printed shirting underneath for some tongue-in-cheek pizzazz.

2017 New York Film Critics Awards Menswear Roundup

The New York Film Critics Circle Awards on Wednesday (January 3) in New York City, wasn’t just ladies night, as a trio of handsome – well-dressed – gents were also on the scene.

Armie Hammer: There was a mixed reaction to the colour of Armnie’s previous look, but I have feeling this checked Etro suit will be roundly applauded. Not only for the stepping outside the norm and opting for a multi-hued look, but also for keeping up his consistency.

Michael B. Jordan: With his ‘ Black Panther’ promo tour on the horizon, the actor stepped back into the spotlight in a black Dolce & Gabbana brocade suit. The devil is in the detail.

Timothée Chalamet: The young actor opted for pinstripe Thom Browne suit on this occasion. Thom Brown often likes to play with the proportions of his pieces, so while the shrunken jacket might not go down too well with the majority, I think Timothée has the body frame and the panache to pull it off very well.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

From Australia, New York and London, here is our final menswear roundup of the week.

Chris Hemsworth: After a packed red carpet for the LA premiere, Chris was flying solo for the ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Gold Coast premiere in Australian earlier today. I never thought I could be swayed into liking a brown linen suit, but there’s an relaxed ease about the ensemble which feels like Chris put it together himself. We all know he’s not a huge fan of wearing ties, so I’m not surprised about the inclusion of a simple white tee. I much prefer this to his LA look.

Djimon Hounsou: The handsome actor joined Renee Zellweger for the ‘Same Kind Of Different As Me’ LA premiere last night. I love the tone of his cool-blue suit, I just wish he hadn’t made his timepiece the focus by bunching up his sleeves to ensure it showed.  It ruined the finesse of his suit for me.

Colin Farrell: The Irish actor’s Dior Homme all-of-the-time run continued last night as he joined Nicole Kidman and Emma Stone on the red carpet for the ‘ The Killing of A Sacred Deer’ London premiere. His charcoal grey wool classic peak lapel tuxedo was as sharp and as suave as you can get. Simple, classic and elegant.
