‘Fahrenheit 451’ New York Premiere

The ‘Fahrenheit 451’ New York premiere on Tuesday (May 8) featured some bold fashion statements.

Tessa Thompson: The ‘Westworld’ actress was yet another one to fall for the spell of an unlined Christian Dior dress. I’m sure many are bored of the revealing skirts. Just taking into account her outfit, there was an intriguing mood with the play of the prim collared style with the black undergarments. The dusty purple frock with rich burgundy shoes was unexpected but most striking.

Michael B. Jordan: The actor looked dashing in Ermenegildo Zegna Couture. The subtle sheen and night sky blue of the suit were debonair. The touches of black added to the sharp finish, but the roll neck is making it veer towards being too wintery.

Sofia Boutella: Another one in a sheer style, she was clad in Alberta Ferretti Fall 2018. On the runway, the lighting didn’t make it look quite so naked, but on the red carpet we see just how revealing it is. It feels better suited to a performance piece.

2018 GLAAD Media Awards Los Angeles Red Carpet Roundup

A number of stars joined Madeline Brewer, Britney Spears and Halle Berry at the 2018 GLAAD Media Awards Los Angeles on Thursday (April 12).

Chloe Grace Moretz: The young actress dazzled in The Vampire’s Wife. The style is in the designer’s signature silhouette. The shape might have a prim, almost Victorian mood but when combined with the silver fabric and hot pink accents, it had a playful finish. Tamara Mellon ‘Frontline’ sandals completed her look.

Tommy Dorfman: The ‘13 Reasons Why’ actor looked smart in a slim Ermenegildo Zegna Couture suit. Even without a tie it had a crisp, modern finish courtesy of the tailoring and waistcoat just visible underneath the jacket.

Katie Aselton: Donning Preen Line Aaliyah pansy-print and striped crepe dress, the ‘Legion’ actress was a delight of designs with the stripes marrying with the florals. The soft silhouette gave the ensemble a breezy, bohemian quality. Graphic turquoise earrings and a multicoloured Milly clutch kept up the jovial feeling.

PaleyFest Los Angeles 2018: ‘Stranger Things’ Red Carpet Roundup

More of the ‘Stranger Things’ cast was at the PaleyFest Los Angeles panel on Sunday (March 25) in Hollywood, joining Millie Bobby Brown.

Natalia Dyer: This Delpozo dress was a darling look for Natalia. I love the exaggerated bows at the shoulders and its pastel spring palette along with scalloped effect on the Christian Louboutin ‘Miss Naseeba’ heels for a sweet-chic effect.

Charlie Heaton: This Ermenegildo Zegna Couture suit may not have had the bells and whistles of some menswear looks we’ve seen lately. But, I still loved the casual, handsomely unkempt flair of it all, between the deep army-green hue to the untucked Topman shirting and the Aquatalia ‘Lawrence’ boots.

Sadie Sink: This Hiraeth dress is her second look from Rooney Mara’s vegan clothing line. I like how she stays true to her personal style and tomboy spirit and edges up even a girlish frock like this with combat boots. Repossi jewels completed the ensemble.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Five suits. Five completely different takes on menswear tailoring in this latest roundup of fellows.

Logan Miller: Joining Katherine Langford at the ‘Love, Simon’ LA screening on Tuesday (March 13), Logan offered up a fresh take on tailoring. I love how his Topshop suit riffed on the standard with its red pinstripe detailing—especially when paired with a whimsical micro-pattern button-down from The Kooples. Kenneth Cole shoes rounded out the look.

Dave Franco: The actor was at the ‘6 Balloons’ premiere during the 2018 SXSW Conference and Festivals on Monday (March 12) in Austin, Texas. I was particularly fond of the navy and Kelly green combo in this Sandro Homme ensemble. With the slight crop of the trousers, as it offered a colour-saturated, spring-forward take on laid-back, yet polished, tailoring.

Edgar Ramirez: As the guest of honour at the Hublot Private Dinner in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday (March 13), Edgar relied on handsome shades of gray to keep it effortlessly cool in this Strong Suit ensemble, styled with a textural print dress shirt for added impact.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

It’s been a busy week so far in menswear, with notable events across from LA to New York City, and even Beijing. Here’s what the guys wore.

Common: While at the For Your Consideration event for Showtime’s ‘The Chi’ in LA on Friday (March 9), Common heaped on the calm and collected cool factor in his Sandro Homme Spring 2018 sweater and trousers. This is a great combination of shades, between the golden-yellow and the gray trousers that we don’t see all that often.

Trevor Jackson: Bringing his fashion game to the red carpet of the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday (March 11) in Inglewood, California, Trevor wore a Bally Spring 2018 look. It may have been rather colourful, but this was the occasion to combine a sunset-orange jacket with an owl-print shirt and satiny-blue trousers. Carvil Paris loafers completed his look.

Charlie Plummern: As soon as I said that we don’t see the yellow and gray combo enough, Charlie showed up with another variation whilst at the Build Studio in New York City on Monday (March 12) to discuss ‘Lean on Pete.’ He wore the same Sandro Homme sweater as Common yet his definition of street-style cool had him pairing it with a gray jacket, denim, and white sneakers for a solidly laid-back yet put-together vibe.
