Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Models @ amfar 1

Here is a round up of all the models who took to the red carpet on Thursday evening for the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala held at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France on Thursday evening before taking to the runway for the fashion show.

Karolina Kurkova: Cavalli created an uber hot black cut-out gown for the sensational Kurkova. This woman couldn’t look bad if she tried. Aside from the serpent bracelet, she let the gown do all the talking…and it’s sayin’ “don’t I look hot?”

Joan Smalls: The gorgeous model worked a Givenchy Fall 2013 floral sequin sheer gown with a sheer sweater with leather appliqués. I had expected Ciara to have worn one of these looks by now. I didn’t have high hopes for this portion of the collection, but it does translate rather nicely off the runway. I am intrigued to see the look sans sweater.

Karlie Kloss: Is she just not trying anymore? The model wore a Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2013 look which is uber chic, but just not enough for a gala event. She could’ve worn anything she wanted, so I wonder why she chose to wear this. Maybe she just wanted to be less obvious like many of her fellow models at this event.

Cannes Day 7 Round Up 1

Here is a quick round up from the other ladies on the red carpet during Cannes Film Festival this evening.

Petra Nemcova: The model dazzled on the red carpet for the ‘Behind the Candelabra’ premiere this evening wearing an Emilio Pucci fully sequined, champagne coloured long-sleeve gown with chiffon inserts in the skirt to give it a more glamorous feel. Her belted look was styled with Chopard jewels.

Chanel Iman: This is quite an underwhelming effort by Chanel Iman for the ‘Cleopatra’ premiere. I’m more excited about her David Yurman jewels and her Louis Vuitton miniadure than I am her black strapless gown.

Erin Heatherton: The model made her red carpet debut at Cannes wearing a beautiful beaded Roberto Cavalli gown styled with a matching clutch and Chopard jewels.

Joan Smalls In Emilio Pucci - ‘Cleopatra’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

For those of you tired of tulle and sick of sequins, Joan Smalls’ look at the ‘Cleopatra’ Cannes Film Festival premiere this evening should serve as a welcome tonic.

The beautiful model, who’s still working an ombre ‘do, wore an Emilio Pucci Pre-Fall 2013 romantic look.

Her powder-pink lace long-sleeve gown with a plunging neckline was styled with a crystal encrusted belt, white strappy sandals and smouldering smoky eyes.

Do you enjoy this change of pace, or is it not enough for Cannes?

'Fruitvale Station' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

The ‘Fruitvale Station’ premiere took place during Cannes Film Festival this evening following the photocall earlier today.

Octavia Spencer: As expected, the actress wore a Tadashi Shoji custom gown. We’ve seen the actress don many gowns in shade of cream, lavender, black and blue, but never a fiery hue like this red tulle-and-lace draped cape sleeve gown. The colour is so striking and the style so very flattering.

Ahna O’Reilly: The actress selected an ivory fully sequined Elie Saab one-sleeve gown with cut-outs at the waist.

Melonie Diaz: Like Octavia, Melonie also opted for a bold colour wearing an Emilio Pucci sea-blue chiffon gown accented with a black beaded belt and styled with silver jewels. Once again she worked a bold lip colour.

'The Bling Ring' Premiere - The 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival

It was very much a girls’ night out as Emma Watson and her ‘The Bling Ring’ co-stars took to the red carpet tonight for the movie’s premiere during Cannes Film Festival.

Claire Julien: Having stepped out in Balmain earlier today, the blonde actress selected a blush-coloured Emilio Pucci gown which was custom made for her. The strapless gown with sheer inserts and an epic organza train was styled with a gorgeous smile and natural golden waves.

Taissa Farmiga: For her second Cannes look, the actress wore a Valentino Fall 2013 gown, a privilege many more established actresses are yet to enjoy. Her sleeveless black gown with an off-white lace bodice with leather insets at the sides features a tonal lattice beaded embellishment throughout. Side swept tresses and diamond drop earrings completed her look.

Katie Chang: The young actress had the honour of being dressed in Dior tonight. The brand are really staking their claim on this festival this year. Katie wore a Dior white silk crepe gown with a black sash which she styled with Dior Fine Jewelry.

They may be relative unknown celebrities to us, but it looks like fashion brands are taking notice, which is to be applauded.

Zoe Saldana In Emilio Pucci - Extra

Zoe Saldana wore two summery looks which showed off her slender legs on Monday afternoon for her promotional duties for ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ at The Grove in California.

For her guest appearance on Extra, she wore a nude Dolce & Gabbana blouse with lace and button accents with white Dolce & Gabbana shorts, styling the look with contrasting turquoise-and-yellow Christian Louboutin ‘Flo’ patent slingbacks.

Later the same day, while exiting The Grove she was spotted wearing another pair of shorts, this time a turquoise pair with a matching silk top with an elaborate print from the Emilio Pucci Fall 2013 collection.

On this occasion it’s clear that the dual-colour slingbacks were intended for this look.
