The Cannes Film Festival may be in full swing, but the other major event of the weekend was the wedding of Pippa Middleton and James Matthews on Saturday (May 20) at St. Mark’s Church in England.
I was awestruck by the classic beauty of Pippa’s bespoke Giles Deacon lace gown that featured a heart-shaped cutout at the back. It was enduringly romantic, sophisticatedly feminine and forever timeless—everything you’d hope a wedding dress could be.
Her fine tulle veil, with its dégradé of embroidered pearls, was made by renowned milliner Stephen Jones, and it brought a delicate, whisper-light addition to the gown.
A Maidenhair Fern tiara and matching headpiece by Robinson Pelham, along with custom-made Robinson Pelham earrings and custom Manolo Blahnik ‘Seneca’ pumps completed the graceful, fairytale look.
Of course, we cannot forget the bride’s bouquet which included astilbe, sweet pea, peony, freesia and waxflower, as the lushly simple array of white blooms couldn’t have been more suiting.
