Jessica Biel In Elie Saab – Out In London

On Friday Jessica Biel was in London attending a photocall for her latest movie ‘Total Recall’.

Wearing her third Elie Saab look of this tour, she wore a black-and-cream one-sleeve jumpsuit from the Fall 2012 collection.

As I said last week, London clearly agrees with her as this is such a fabulous chic look. I love the waistband which gives the look an illusion of separates rather than a jumpsuit.

In Berlin she pulled down her Elie Saab gown with an oversized Fendi clutch; on this occasion her silver Fendi baguette is perfectly complementary.

Louis Vuitton glitter toe-cap pumps completed her look.

This outfit has me longing for more as she was on a roll towards the end of last week.

Do you love this look as much as I do?

Jessica Biel In Elie Saab – ‘Total Recall’ Berlin Premiere

Jessica Biel donned her second Elie Saab frock of the ‘Total Recall’ promo tour at the Berlin premiere, held at the Sony Center in Germany this evening.

The actress shimmered on the red carpet wearing a fully-embellished sleek black halter Elie Saab Fall 2012 gown with a open sexy-back — see what I did there?

After opting for a sweeping updo for the photocall, the bangs were back on this occasion. Is this a deal-breaker?

To show off that gorgeous neckline Jessica swept her hair up into a tight bun, selecting simple jewels to complementing her gown.

I love the dress, the hair, the makeup, but that bag.

The oversized Fendi black velvet clutch with gold detailing really has no business being near this gown.

Believe it or not I do like Jessica. I just wish she would give me a reason to love a look from head-to-toe without having to add the words, ‘but’ for every look.

Jessica Biel In Elie Saab Couture – ‘Total Recall’ New York Screening

Jessica Biel made her second red-carpet appearance in so many days with the New York screening of her latest movie ‘Total Recall’ yesterday evening at the Chelsea Clearview Cinemas hosted by Instyle editor Ariel Foxman.

Her co-stars Kate Beckinsale and Colin Farrell were not in attendance, but the brunette beauty made up for their absence by looking lovely wearing an Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture frock.

Her ethereal white-lace sleeveless dress was styled with a lace shawl, Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps, Lorraine Schwartz antique diamond earrings and a gold Elie Saab clutch.

I do like the look, but I find the lace shawl a tad fussy plus I don’t think it adds anything to the look.

I’m tempted to say that statement jewels would’ve been preferred to add some pizzazz to the look, but following Wednesday’s premiere we all know how badly that can pan out.

Overall I prefer the runway version of the look unlined and with the bow accent.

I know many of you thought her bubblegum-pink Dior gown was too cutesy for an action movie premiere, so I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on this look.

Kate Beckinsale In Elie Saab – ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’

Tuesday night the lovely Kate Beckinsale once again appeared on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.’

The ‘Total Recall’ star went with understated elegance for her on-air look, choosing an Elie Saab dress from the 2012 Pre-Fall collection.

When done correctly, a one shoulder dress can provide just the right amount of intrigue, which a weathered designer like Saab is certainly capable of. The dress itself fit Beckinsale like a glove, but it was her hair and shoes that I feel didn’t do the frock justice.

Although Beckinsale looks beautiful with large, loose curls, wearing her hair over the revealed shoulder makes the dress appear awkward and incomplete. A look like this begs for an updo, which would show off the silhouette of the dress.

While I appreciate the elegance of simplicity, a higher shoe with a small amount of embellishment would have amped up the entire ensemble and made the knee-length hemline more flattering.

There is nothing agregiously wrong with Beckinsale’s ‘Tonight Show’ choices, but I believe that the actress is certainly capable of more.

Do you think this is one of Kate Beckinsale’s better looks? Or were you hoping for something with a little more style know-how?

Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture

The Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture presentation ended my short trip to Paris for Couture Week.

I’m always a bit nervous before an Elie Saab show as I ask myself, ‘What if I don’t like it?’

I didn’t like it, I loved it. Before I could pick myself up off the floor from Karlie Kloss’ stunning opener, another breathtaking gown hit the runway.

Elie may have given us a lot of daywear for ready-to-wear, but it was back to full-on glamorous gowns for Couture.

Inspired by the ‘imperial splendour’ and Ottoman motifs of Constantinople, the colour was surprisingly summery in parts with soft pink, nude, coral and sky blue presented alongside gold, black and teal blue.

The shapes and silhouettes varied from full-length, knee-length sheaths and flirty flared dresses with thin belts nipping in the model’s’ tiny waist.

Every celeb from Elle Fanning to Helen Mirren could select a look or two from this collection, as the designer covered all the bases – even a blushing bride who closed the show wearing an organza-embossed gown with gold brocade leaves.

This season I was most blown away by the embellished details. The magpie in me just couldn’t get enough. Sequins and beads adorned most of the looks which dazzled or gave an antique, vintage feel to the pieces.

My wish list is super long, so here is the edited version.

Who I Want To See Wearing This Collection: Emily Blunt, Diane Kruger, Jessica Chastain, Penelope Cruz, Cate Blanchett, Rachel McAdams, Lea Michele, Bérénice Marlohe, Zoe Saldana, Katie Holmes, Keira Knightley, Blake Lively and Nicole Kidman.

Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab – ‘People Like Us’ New York Screening

Elizabeth Banks was radiant once again as she took to the red carpet with co-star Chris Pine in New York City last night for the ‘People Like Us’ screening.

The actress wore her second look from the Elie Saab Fall 2012 collection.

Her nude fully embellished halter-neck dress with an open back was styled with matching nude-and-gold accessories including an Edie Parker clutch and strappy Pierre Hardy sandals.

Her makeup is flawless on this occasion as she opted for a metallic shimmering eye shadow and a pink lip colour.

A simple updo provided the finishing touches.
