Nobel Prize ceremony & 2017 Nobel Laureates Dinner

The Nobel Prize ceremony was held in Stockholm, Sweden on Sunday (December 10) followed by the 2017 Nobel Laureates Dinner on Monday (December 11) at the Stockholm Royal Palace.

First up, the Nobel Prize Ceremony’s head-turning looks.

Alice Bah: As the Swedish Minister of Culture & Democracy, Alice made a statement—quite literally—with her Bea Szenfeld & Naim Josefi gown. The designers created the look for more than just sartorial impact, as it was designed to highlight the melting arctic. The sculptural shoulders could certainly be described as glacial, with the liquid-white effect of the dress completing the picture that had serious undertones to its whimsy.

Princess Sofia of Sweden: The new mother was positively glowing in this Ida Lanto lace confection that was beautifully rendered in a soft, mauve-gray hue. She opted to re-wear her wedding-day tiara here—and when it’s that striking, I say why not.

Jessica Chastain In Elie Saab – ‘Molly’s Game’ Amsterdam Premiere

Jessica Chastain left me positively enchanted with her Zuhair Murad ensemble at the ‘Molly’s Game’ London premiere so I was very excited for her next red carpet appearance.

The actress did not disappoint at the ‘Molly’s Game’ Amsterdam premiere on Tuesday (December 12).

Her Elie Saab gown captivated with the vivid blue hue enhancing her porcelain skin and ginger locks.

There is a princess quality to the style, but there’s an alluring undercurrent courtesy of the sheer details on the bodice and hips.

Many are fatigued by sheer details, but her dress made them feel new. Additionally, the outfit made me even more intrigued to see what she will wear next.

Ruby Rose In Elie Saab – ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ LA Premiere

While the likes the Anna Kendrick were going for a sassy look for the premiere of ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ on Tuesday (December 12) in Hollywood, California, Ruby Rose went in the opposite direction.

I love the artful abstract-print of her Elie Saab Fall 2017 gown, and the feminine edge the leather and lace brings.

I always expect a rebellious look from Ruby, yet she always surprises me with her choices.

This is perhaps one of her best this year.

Olga Kurylenko In Elie Saab Couture – 2017 Dubai International Film Festival

On Friday (December 8), Olga Kurylenko attended ‘The Death of Stalin’ red carpet on day three of the 14th annual Dubai International Film Festival in the United Arab Emirates.

The actress wore her second Elie Saab Fall 2017 Couture look at the event, opting to wear a beautiful cream halter gown with an embroidered duster coat.

Once again, her styling option enhanced her look as without the coat, this would’ve been a pretty uneventful – we’ve seen this look before – piece.

With it, the look feels instantly more luxe and opulent which couldn’t have been more fitting to the occasion.

Olga Kurylenko In Elie Saab Couture – 2017 Dubai International Film Festival

Following Monday nights Fashion Awards in London, Olga Kurylenko reappeared on the red carpet for the opening night gala of the 14th annual Dubai International Film Festival this evening (December 6).

Personally, it’s been a very stressful two weeks, but what I love about fashion, is moments like this.

Moments where you leave your troubles behind and escape, if only for a few minutes, to take in the hypnotic beauty of a stunning woman in an equally stunning gown.

Olga took my breath away wearing this crimson Elie Saab Fall 2017 Couture gown.

As you know I love a cape, but on this occasion I’m glad Olga decided against it.

The cape appears heavy, and I feel it may have weighed down her look.

I adore how she’s totally selling the sensuality and lightness of her lace embroidered look to me.

This is a BDOTW contender for sure. Maybe even a BDOTY worthy look.
