2017 Time 100 Gala Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more looks to grace the red carpet for the 2017 Time 100 Gala on Tuesday (April 25) in New York City.

Naomi Campbell: The supermodel opted for an Alaia piece which was selected not only to colour coordinate with the step and repeat, but also because of its fine craftsmanship. Yes, it’s a bit heavy for spring, but Naomi has always marched to the beat of her own drum.

Margot Robbie: While I wish this Prada dress wasn’t so shapeless, the colourful embellishments – which reminded me of 100s and 1000s – the pale yellow hue, Delfina Delettrez jewels and the pretty pink purse did soften my stance and I have to say I love the look.

Ashley Graham: I love Ashley’s style, but I couldn’t get on board with what I feel is the over-styling of this look – starting with that choker. The look consisted of a Cami NYC camisole, Nili Lotan ‘Maya’ maxi skirt and Fleur Du Mal corset.

Hailee Steinfeld In Elie Saab – JDRF Imagine Gala 2017

Hailee Steinfeld was on the red carpet at the JDRF Imagine Gala 2017 on Saturday (April 22) in Beverly Hills, California before taking to the stage for a special performance.

Even though this Elie Saab Fall 2017 confection was simplified into a flirtier mini dress, it still translated the designer’s signature embellishment with its swirling enchantment of beading and sparkle.

So beguiling was the patterning, I found myself wanting it to continue into the longer skirt rather than end with a rather abrupt sheer finish.

Not that Hailee didn’t pull off the shorter silhouette on the premise of its youthful playfulness—with a sexy edge.

Celine Dion In Elie Saab Couture – Stayin’ Alive: A GRAMMY Salute to the Music of the Bee Gees

Celine Dion performed onstage during the Stayin’ Alive: A GRAMMY Salute to the Music of the Bee Gees, which aired on Sunday night (April 16), but was originally taped in LA on February 14.

As we’d expect from Celine, her look lived up to the celebratory occasion, as she strikingly donned an Elie Saab Fall 2016 Couture piece featuring a whimsical, embellished bird motif.

While monochromatic in tone, the gown married together a rich interplay of textures from velvet to chiffon to achieve both structured sophistication and soft femininity.

The dress itself was the dramatic showpiece, but Celine’s waterfall curls added a romantic, fairy-tale finish.

Brie Larson In Elie Saab – ‘Free Fire’ LA Premiere

Following her ‘Kong: Skull Island’ promo tour, Brie Larson was back for the premiere of A24’s ‘Free Fire’ on Thursday (April 13) in Hollywood, California.

There’s not a single angle of this Elie Saab Fall 2017 dress that is overlooked showcasing the designer’s unrelenting dedication to detail.

Perfectly feminine from the delicate ruffles shoulders to the lace inserts, this dress – while perhaps too sombre for some – spells out graceful elegance.

Fan Bingbing In Elie Saab Couture – 11th Asian Film Awards

Fan Bingbing picked up the Best Actress award for ‘I Am Not Madame Bovary’ at the 11th Asian Film Awards on Tuesday (March 21) in Hong Kong, China.

I would’ve expected a princess gown for such an occasion, but she decided to go down a different route while still relying on Elie Saab.

Aside from the pleated front which creates a contemporary silhouette for this jumpsuit, I love how the dramatic train adds distinguishable definition to this piece.

Unfortunately Bingbing’s accessories didn’t work for me. A silver clutch to compliment the embroidered bodice and shoes without embellishment would’ve been preferred.

Jane Fonda In Elie Saab – Netflix’s ‘Grace and Frankie’ Season 3 Premiere

Jane Fonda continued her impressive run for the screening of Netflix’s ‘Grace and Frankie’ Season 3 on Wednesday (March 22) in Hollywood, California, wearing yet another Elie Saab jumpsuit.

The Lebanese designer Elie Saab understands perfectly how to highlight and flatter a woman’s frame, which is perfectly demonstrated in this piece.

Nipped-in at the waist with sheer lace panels adding some allure, Ms Fonda continue to set the bar high when it comes to extreme elegance.

I should also say that fit is everything, as we discovered with Ellen Pompeo’s recent look.
