Designer of the Year 2015 – Elie Saab

Designer of the Year 2015 Elie Saab 2

Perhaps few will be surprised at the announcement that Elie Saab has snagged the Designer of the Year 2015 award yet again.

The crown has been his for five years now, as this red-carpet magician conjures up pure magic for a never-ending list of red-carpet beauties.

Continuing to send a jaw-dropping variety of looks out for all the style gawkers among us, the Lebanese designer shows no signs of slowing down the movement of his wizardry wand.

And, like 2014 proved, he has plenty more to offer aside from sequins, beading, and shine—an impeccably fitted, red brocade gown – worn by Katrina Kaif – couldn’t have been more strikingly refined without a hint of sparkle or embellishment.

Some of this year’s other highlights from the Lebanese designer include a non-dress, perfect pants moment from Jessica Chastain and Taylor Swift’s gorgeous-in-teal-green, ombre gown that was the most exquisite example of the high-low trend; the fuchsia heels the mere cherry on top.

Kate Hudson In Elie Saab – ‘The Hateful Eight’ New York Premiere

Kate Hudson In Elie Saab - 'The Hateful Eight' New York Premiere

Kate Hudson attended the New York premiere of ‘The Hateful Eight’ on Monday (December 14).

I do love Kate’s selection of red carpet gowns, but her red carpet suiting options always leave me floored.

This black sleeveless belted jumpsuit and a black long coat with satin lapels from Elie Saab’s Resort 2016 collection serves up a clean, contemporary and cool vibe which is effortlessly styled.

You may think that Elie Saab is a one-trick, embellished gown fashion-show pony, but here he creates a 90s-style look which oozes a chic, pared-down evening aesthetic.

Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab – ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ LA Premiere

Elizabeth Banks attended the premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ on Monday (December 14) in Hollywood, California.

It may not have been her premiere, but she was still one of the main attractions oozing quiet, romantic elegance wearing an Elie Saab Resort 2016 tri-colour embroidered gown.

While the gown is stunning, I love how the shoulder-baring neckline draws attention to her face; highlighting her flawless makeup.

I already know some will accuse Elizabeth of over-dressing, as it not her premiere blah blah, but this was a WORLD premiere, and my girl never needs an excuse to dress up – reason #101 why I love her.

Olga Kurylenko In Christian Dior Couture & Elie Saab – 15th Marrakech International Film Festival

Olga Kurylenko In Christian Dior & Elie Saab - 15th Marrakech International Film Festival

Olga Kurylenko attended a dinner hosted by Dior on Friday (December 11) and the closing ceremony of the Marrakech International Film Festival on Saturday (December 12) in Morocco.

Dior Dinner: Her first gown, which look hailed from Dior’s Spring 2015 Couture collection, was simply styled with nothing but a pretty rose pink lip and luscious wavy tresses. The embroidered dress is gorgeous, but a tad too shapeless for my liking.

Closing Ceremony: The same applies to her Elie Saab Resort 2016 gown. Gorgeous, hypnotic green hue perfectly styled with lavender sandals and tear-drop earrings, but I can’t get on board with the silhouette.

Hilary Swank In Elie Saab - Annual Art Basel Miami Kick-Off Party

Hilary Swank attended DuJour Magazine’s Art Basel Miami Beach Kick-Off Party on Tuesday (December 1) in Miami Beach, Florida.

The actress wore an Elie Saab dress rendered in a classic silhouette with flirty, sheer lace panels.

I would’ve more enthused about this look had she done more in the makeup and styling department.

Celine Dion In Elie Saab Couture - 2015 American Music Awards

Celine Dion gave an emotional tribute to Paris while performing during the 2015 American Music Awards on Sunday (November 22) in Los Angeles, California.

The singer usually goes for the most dazzling dresses – sequin wise – when it comes to her performances, but on this occasion she wore a beautiful floral print, full skirt gown from Elie Saab’s Fall 2015 Couture collection.

I love how Celine is channeling her inner princess with this beautiful statement design in such a modern manner.

The look was styled with wavy tresses and subtle jewels.

Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab - 'The Hunger Games Mockingjay - Part 2' Berlin Premiere

Elizabeth Banks swept onto the red carpet of ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2’ at CineStar on Wednesday (November 4) in Berlin, Germany.

Channeling an enchanted fairytale aura in her billowing gown, she wore an Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture confection.

The designer’s formula of beads, sequins, and embellishment were all present and accounted for, but the abstracted, swirling floral print added another layer of unexpected magic to the dress.

For some, perhaps the gold-laced crown took the look over the edge but the diaphanous romance was still undeniable.

Kendall Jenner’s Paris Fashion Week Style

Kendall Jenner Paris

Kendall Jenner has been taking Paris, France by storm over the last week or so, spotted out on no fewer than nine occasions during Paris Fashion Week with a wardrobe change in effect at every step of the way.

Look 1: Adding a touch of sartorial androgyny, the model took a structured approach in a Solace London ‘Kusama’ top paired with Elisabetta Franchi high-waisted trousers, Givenchy ‘Pandora’ wristlet, Dior ‘Technologic’ sunglasses, and Camilla and Marc ‘Honour’ flat loafers. I love the vibrancy of the cobalt blue.

Look 2: At a dinner at ‘Le Gabriel’ restaurant with Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing, she naturally was wearing Balmain in a lace-up jumpsuit with ruffled pant legs. I simply cannot make it past the see-through effect and visible panties, so the rest of the look falls victim to the transparency for me. The Givenchy ‘Pandora’ wristlet completed the look.

Look 3: While leaving Laperouse Restaurant, she donned a Balmain logo-print tank top with Balmain Spring 2016 high-waisted pants, which was a significantly more appropriate than her previous Balmain offering. Her favoured Givenchy ‘Pandora’ wristlet made another appearance showcasing its versatility yet again.
