Nazanin Boniadi In Elie Saab – ‘Counterpart’ LA Premiere

Nazanin Boniadi kept things simple and chic for the Los Angeles premiere of Starz’s ‘Counterpart’ on Wednesday (January 10).

The actress couldn’t fail stepping into Elie Saab’s pitch black sleeveless Pre-Fall 2017 jumpsuit.

Free from any embellishment, I love how the plush velvet bodice dips low at the neckline for a sensual finish while the crepe pants are tapered slim for the most flattering fit.

Touches of gold, including YAEL SONIA earrings and Malone Souliers ‘Imogen’ pumps, prevented this from feeling too one note while enhancing the luxuriousness.

Gal Gadot In Elie Saab – The National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala

Excluding the Golden Globes black-out, Gal Gadot continued to embrace bold hues on the red carpet for the 2018 The National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala on Tuesday (January 9) in New York City.

Elie Saab famously doesn’t design with trends in mind, that’s why this waterfall-blue Spring 2018 one-shoulder gown is so timeless.

I don’t miss the belt as the colour is dazzling enough, plus cut-out and train keeps this piece interesting.

René Caovilla ‘Snake’ sandals rounded out her simple, yet striking look.

Lena Headey In Elie Saab – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

It’s been some time since we’ve seen British actress Lena Headey on the red carpet, but she was at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, California.

We’ve seen a few Elie Saab looks so far this year that have relied on silhouette more than the designer’s signature embellishment, and that was the case here again in this Resort 2018 gown.

The addition of the sliver of lace at the bodice offered a nod to sultry appeal, complementing the romantic flutter sleeve and ruffled skirt.

While her ink will always provide a moment of edginess, I liked seeing her take her look down a softer path this time around.

The Art of Elysium presents John Legend’s HEAVEN Gala

As to be expected, there was a rush of stars at the 11th annual edition of The Art of Elysium Presents John Legend’s HEAVEN was held on Saturday (January 6) in Santa Monica, California.

Ashley Madekwe: I was a bit surprised to see Ashley donning the Rodarte Fall 2017 look that Nicole Kidman wore to the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. I will say the proportions of the glittery, ruffled look seemed a bit better suited to Ashley.

Rooney Mara: The actress looks to be continuing 2018 with her favoured colour palette of black and white with this Givenchy Spring 2018 lace-accented, asymmetrical dress.

Vanessa Hudgens: I like the enchanting sweep of this Alberta Ferretti Fall 2017 cape gown styled with an Emm Kuo clutch. What betrays the look a bit is the heavy-handed, rust-hued eye makeup, which is a bit too much in the red colour family.

Emilia Clarke In Michael Kors & Elie Saab – The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party & HAITI RISING Gala

Following the AFI Awards, Emilia Clarke was back on the red carpet with two more looks on Saturday (January 6).

The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party: The English actress was every bit the English rose wearing this floral fitted sheath dress from Michael Kors Collection. I do like Emilia’s style, but I can’t say I have ever loved a look, but this I love. Not only does it feel so right and proper for the occasion, but I love the mix of colours, the retro 50s vibe and the dainty styling which included a Roger Vivier ‘Viv Cabas’ top-handle bag and Irene Neuwirth jewels. She nailed this look from head to toe.

7th Annual Sean Penn & Friends HAITI RISING Gala Benefiting: When we think of Elie Saab; embellished gowns spring to mind, but this Spring 2018 button down blouse and floor-sweeping skirt goes against the grain. I adore the simplicity, charm and effortless of it all. My first thought was that she’s channeling her inner Uma Thurman/Sharon Stone here, as I can picture both of them wearing this look also.

Mary J. Blige In Elie Saab – 29th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival

Mary J. Blige picked up the ‘Breakthrough Performance’ award for ‘Mudbound’ at the 29th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on Tuesday (January 2) in Palm Springs, California.

The singer/actress received her award wearing an Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2017 celadon, fully embellished gown with Juliet long sleeves.

My belief was that we were going to see a more darker, edgier side to her style for awards season with custom Balmain and Alexander Wang pieces, so this softer, daintier look came as a pleasant surprise.

I adore the beadwork and the bold shoulder detail, however, I would’ve preferred the velvet waist band over the bow ribbon detail.

Jewelry from Chopard’s ‘L’Heure Du Diamant Collection’ and ‘High Jewelry Collection’ rounded out her look.

Nobel Prize ceremony & 2017 Nobel Laureates Dinner

The Nobel Prize ceremony was held in Stockholm, Sweden on Sunday (December 10) followed by the 2017 Nobel Laureates Dinner on Monday (December 11) at the Stockholm Royal Palace.

First up, the Nobel Prize Ceremony’s head-turning looks.

Alice Bah: As the Swedish Minister of Culture & Democracy, Alice made a statement—quite literally—with her Bea Szenfeld & Naim Josefi gown. The designers created the look for more than just sartorial impact, as it was designed to highlight the melting arctic. The sculptural shoulders could certainly be described as glacial, with the liquid-white effect of the dress completing the picture that had serious undertones to its whimsy.

Princess Sofia of Sweden: The new mother was positively glowing in this Ida Lanto lace confection that was beautifully rendered in a soft, mauve-gray hue. She opted to re-wear her wedding-day tiara here—and when it’s that striking, I say why not.
