2013 Telva Fashion Awards

2013 Telva Fashion Awards

The 2013 Telva Fashion Awards took place at the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid, Spain yesterday evening, with some of our favourite Spanish beauties taking to the red carpet to celebrate the event’s 50th anniversary.

Nieves Alvarez: The model, who was the host of the event, set the glamour bar very high wearing an Emilio Pucci one-of-a-kind bedazzled beaded long-sleeved open-back gown styled with an oversized Swarovski clutch and Suarez jewels.

Juana Acosta: The actress looked breathtaking wearing an Oscar de la Renta Resort 2014 black floral bubble peplum top and black silk-faille ballskirt, styled with a contrasting red Louboutin clutch and gold jewels. This was my favourite of the night.

Norma Ruiz: The actress opted for an ethereal look, wearing a Donna Karan Atelier one-shoulder gown with a lattice bodice and free-flowing ruffled cascading skirt, which she styled with Jimmy Choo embellished sandals, a matching Swarovski clutch and Yanes jewels. I love the smoky-eye/nude-matte-lip combo here.

Zendaya Coleman In Donna Karan – 2013 American Music Awards

2013AMA_ZendayaColeman

Zendaya Coleman commanded the red carpet at the 2013 American Music Awards on Sunday evening at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

The Disney starlet put her own spin on an all-white look from Donna Karan’s Resort 2014 collection, edging up the long and languid, one-shoulder tunic top and white pants with a number of extensions—literally. Let us count the ways.

First she loaded on the silver bangles, along with a serpent arm bracelet, and a few door-knocker cocktail rings for good measure. A Swarovski clutch added even more sparkle.

Then, she strapped on an incarnation of the so-called stripper heels with a towering, silver pair. But the real accessory were her mega-long, board-straight locks that had Rapunzel written all of them.

She’s young; this is fun; and she can get away with it—for now. So why not. Do you agree?

America Ferrera In Donna Karan – ‘Six by Sondheim’ HBO New York Premiere

America Ferrera In Donna Karan - 'Six by Sondheim' HBO New York Premiere

America Ferrera attended HBO’s New York premiere of ‘Six by Sondheim’ held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

While I wanted to eye roll yet another black look from America, I found myself totally charmed by her black one-shoulder Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2013 dress with a flared skirt because she styled it so well.

Not only did she forgo the expected black pumps and played out white pumps in favour of a bronze open-toe heel, she also upped the ante with an array of gold jewels, with the caged cuff the standout statement piece.

A slightly messy updo and makeup in a natural colour palette completed her look.

‘The Best Man Holiday’ LA Premiere

'The Best Man Holiday' LA Premiere

Universal Pictures premiered ‘The Best Man Holiday’ at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California yesterday evening.

Sanaa Lathan: The actress looked uber sexy wearing a Donna Karan black strapless frock with a part-ruffled neckline and maroon draped details held together with a black waistband. Le Vian & Demarco jewels and Stuart Weitzman black pumps completed the look. I love the complementary maroon lip colour.

Michelle Williams: Continuing to work that punchy pink lip, the singer wore a simple black Michael Costello halter dress, which she styled with a gold chain belt.

Melissa De Sousa: Since the movie has a holiday theme, the actress sparkled like tinsel on a Christmas tree, wearing a blue-and-black Pamella Roland strapless gown with a chiffon train styled with Brian Atwood shoes, Le Vian jewels and a Lauren Merkin clutch.

Naomie Harris In Donna Karan Atelier – ‘Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom’ Johannesburg Premiere

Naomie Harris In Donna Karan Atelier - 'Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom' Johannesburg Premiere

Naomie Harris attended the premiere of ‘Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom’ in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Largely based on his autobiography of the same name, the movie traces the life of the anti-apartheid icon from his childhood in the rural Eastern Cape to his election as the country’s first black president in 1994. Naomie stars as Nelson Mandela’s wife, Winnie Mandela.

Naomie wore a Donna Karan Atelier gown, which was a breathtaking sight to behold.

Her one-shoulder gown of draped white silk-gauze over gold silk-lamé features an exposed underskirt in silk-tulle. Both the necklace and skirt are embellished with antique-gold metal embroidery, which really brings this look alive.

I wish there was a better picture. I was going to say that this look is on a par with the other Donna Karan Atelier gown she wore to the Met Gala this year, but I now think this supersedes it.
