Best Dressed Of The Week – Emma Stone In Christian Dior Couture, Camila Alves In Donna Karan Atelier & Eddie Redmayne in Prada

BDOTW 2 Feb

Despite you guys not loving the sheer skirt trend, Emma Stone was your favourite this week.

You were blown away by how modern and chic she looked as she opted, once again, to eschew a traditional gown, wearing a Christian Dior Couture look that was a bold take on the tux trend to the SAG Awards.

My favourite without question was Camila Alves in Donna Karan Atelier. Some might say a very predictable choice, but between the colour, the pose and the elegant draping, this look rendered me speechless.

When it came to the guys, the choice was simple and unanimous: Eddie Redmayne in Prada.

Sofia Vergara In Donna Karan Atelier – 2015 SAG Awards

Sofia Vergara In Donna Karan Atelier - 2015 SAG Awards

Sofia Vergara attended the 2015 SAG Awards on Sunday night (January 25), held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen this Latin lovely on the red carpet, but the ‘Modern Family’ star picked up right where she left off with her voluptuous, va-va-voom style.

The Donna Karan Atelier gown featured a crimson shade of silk georgette that draped over an exposed corset and then cascaded into a train at the back. It certainly enhanced her beautiful curves, but it still remained a rather expected silhouette.

She wore her highlighted locks board-straight, matching her lip lacquer to the dress.

A contrasting pair of statement earrings could have taken this look to the next level. As is, I may have just yawned.

Camila Alves In Donna Karan Atelier - 2015 SAG Awards

Camila Alves commanded attention on the red carpet of the 2015 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 25) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

Working an aubergine Donna Karan gown to perfection, she blew me away with this outing. The strapless design glided over her curves, with the draped detailing and side train delivering an enticing sense of drama.

This is a perfect example of the difference that colour can make. The power of this eggplant hue is significant, whereas the same gown in black would have not had nearly the same impact.

The minimal styling also took the look to the next level; simple diamond earrings and an Aldo clutch, along with sun-touched makeup and side-parted locks enhanced rather than competed with the dress, while showcasing Camila’s natural beauty.

J’adore.

Emilia Clarke In Donna Karan Atelier – 2015 SAG Awards

Emilia Clarke In Donna Karan Atelier - 2015 SAG Awards

Emilia Clarke attended the 2015 SAG Awards held on Sunday evening (January 25) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress, nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, wore a navy and black double jersey column gown from Donna Karan Atelier. She accessorized with Cartier jewels including a mind-blowing, diamond encrusted panther cuff and drop earrings.

Emilia is so gorgeous that I always look forward to seeing her on red carpets but found myself underwhelmed in this case. The bands across the bust fit awkwardly and her hair looked limp and unstyled. I was expecting more!

On the plus side, the cape detail on the back that descended into a train was absolutely stunning and added some Hollywood glamour to an otherwise simple dress.

Laura Carmichael In Donna Karan – Entertainment Weekly’s Party Honouring The SAG Nominees

Laura Carmichael In Donna Karan - Entertainment Weekly’s Party Honouring The SAG Nominees

Laura Carmichael attended Entertainment Weekly’s celebration honouring the 2015 SAG awards nominees held at Chateau Marmont on Saturday (January 24) in Los Angeles, California following the Women In Hollywood event from the previous day.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress often plays it safe, but on this occasion a Donna Karan LBD had a little more bite.

The streamlined silhouette is elevated by sheer gunmetal chains criss-crossing the bodice which makes this perhaps the sexiest look she’s ever served up on the red carpet.

Styled with black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudists’ and a grey, metallic Edie Parker clutch, she vamps up the look further with defined cat-eyes.

Refreshing attempt at something new, or is it not really her style?

Viola Davis In Donna Karan Atelier – 2015 Golden Globes

Viola Davis In Donna Karan Atelier – 2015 Golden Globes

Viola Davis makes a dazzling entrance at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 11).

Donning a Donna Karan Atelier dress speckled with ruby red and crystal rhinestones, this actress appeared comfortable and confident in her long gown. Adding to the drama, the silky red dress was accented with a chunky diamond bracelet and earrings.

Bold makeup in the form of purple eyeshadow and crimson lips elevated this look into Old Hollywood glam territory.

While Viola’s color selection is perfectly on point, we would’ve loved to have seen a less fussy hairstyle, with softer strands and fewer pin curls.
