2017 amfAR Gala Cannes Model Roundup

The models were out in force for the amfAR Gala Cannes on Thursday (May 25) during the Cannes Film Festival.

Elsa Hosk: Striking a pose with a distinct pink, pinup mood, this Ermanno Scervino Fall 2017 gown had all the hallmarks of boudoir dressing with the exposed corset and sheer lace—distracting black heels notwithstanding.

Bianca Balti: What’s this? A model not baring it all? Bianca went for a more conservative stance in a Dolce & Gabbana black gown that oozed of old Hollywood glamour when styled with finger waves, statement jewels, and Gianvito Rossi shoes.

Joan Smalls: Between the length, the ubiquitous slit, and the collar-style neck piece, I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this Elie Saab Spring 2017 Couture dress paired with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and gigantic hoop earrings. Hip-hop, tribal glam?

Cannes Film Festival Day 7 Red Carpet Roundup

Day 7 of the Cannes Film Festival brought with it some stunning entrances as part of the 70th anniversary celebration. Here are more looks that took to the red carpet on Tuesday (May 23)

Irina Shayk: The model wasn’t at the 70th screening but she was at the ‘Hikari (Radiance)’ premiere, where it would seem to have taken the title of the film into account in her lemon-bright Atelier Versace custom gown styled with Lorraine Schwartz canary yellow diamonds to match. The dress was not only sheer Versace with its ruched, slit seductiveness, it was also sheer through and through although its lemony hue somewhat distracted from the see-through effect.

Bianca Balti: For the 70th anniversary screening, Bianca opted for a Dolce and Gabbana Alta Moda embroidered gown styled with DeGrisogono statement earrings. With a faint kimono-esque style, the dress held a sense of restrained elegance—although I did find the embellished heels to be unnecessary to complete the picture.

Kaya Scodelario In Dolce & Gabbana – ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ LA Premiere

Kaya Scodelario’s style for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ continued down a Fall-like path for the LA premiere on Thursday (May 18) following the Paris premiere earlier this week.

The English actress imbued Italian elegance wearing a signature velvet gown from Dolce & Gabbana.

If you’re thankful for the dazzling drop earrings and bejeweled belt, you’re not alone, as I feel both help elevate the look vastly.

Slick wavy tresses and a classic red lip to complete the glamorous, Jessica Rabbit-esqe look.

2017 Met Gala After-Party

Katy Perry hosted the Met Gala after party at The Boom Boom at The Standard in New York City in the early hours of Tuesday morning (May 2).

Elle Fanning: The young actress donned her second Miu Miu look of the night. I love how the looks starts out minimal in hue and cut before gathering in pace below the waist with an explosion of multi-colour feathers and embellished Christian Louboutin ‘Body Strass’ pumps. I’m imagining this would’ve looked amazing as a gown for the main event.

Kate Bosworth: Since the majority of you disliked Kate’s Tory Burch red carpet look, I won’t be surprised if you wished she’d worn her Emilio Pucci Spring 2017 boldly hued frock to the main event. It certainly would’ve had a greater impact.

Katy Perry: It was Katy Perry’s party and she will dress as ridiculously as she wants too. My only surprise is that she didn’t wear Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2016 Couture look with the runway helmet.

2017 Met Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Many more stars were at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Hailee Steinfeld: I love the deconstructed kimono edge of this Vera Wang design that was both playful and progressive. Hailee’s twisted top knot and winged eye liner likewise sold the look to me.

Dasha Zhukova
: Dasha softly echoed the theme with this red floral Proenza Schouler keyhole gown.

Olivia Cooke: Also wearing the colour of the night, Olivia donned a seductive red Burberry gown with boudoir lace that got creative in its asymmetry.

Haley Bennett In Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Couture – 2017 Met Gala

While we may have called out many a star for not exactly embracing the 2017 Met Gala’s avant-garde theme in honour of designer Rei Kawakubo, Haley Bennett will not be part of the guilty party judging by her look of the evening.

As she took to the red carpet on Monday (May 1) in New York City, she brought nothing short of an eccentric flower shop in tow.

Not content to only have an array of blooms embellished across her Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Couture period-style, lace gown, she wore an entire bouquet of faux florals atop her head.

While I want to applaud her for taking a bold fashion risk, there were several elements that were working against her thematic efforts.

The garish makeup being one; and her curled locks that had an ageing effect, being another. I probably would have lopped off the loose doily sleeves, too, to help restore the youthfulness to the look.
