2017 New York Film Critics Awards Menswear Roundup

The New York Film Critics Circle Awards on Wednesday (January 3) in New York City, wasn’t just ladies night, as a trio of handsome – well-dressed – gents were also on the scene.

Armie Hammer: There was a mixed reaction to the colour of Armnie’s previous look, but I have feeling this checked Etro suit will be roundly applauded. Not only for the stepping outside the norm and opting for a multi-hued look, but also for keeping up his consistency.

Michael B. Jordan: With his ‘ Black Panther’ promo tour on the horizon, the actor stepped back into the spotlight in a black Dolce & Gabbana brocade suit. The devil is in the detail.

Timothée Chalamet: The young actor opted for pinstripe Thom Browne suit on this occasion. Thom Brown often likes to play with the proportions of his pieces, so while the shrunken jacket might not go down too well with the majority, I think Timothée has the body frame and the panache to pull it off very well.

29th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Menswear Roundup

Here are three dashing gents who joined a host of lovely ladies for the Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala on Tuesday (January 2).

Armie Hammer: Positioning himself as the golden boy of the evening, there was plenty of old-school charm to Armie’s Dolce & Gabbana suit styled with Louboutin shoes to be had. We tend to tire of the predictable menswear offerings, so how does this colour combo fare?

Timothée Chalamet: Our best dressed male of 2017 started off on a classic note wearing a shawl lapel suit oozing plenty of elegance.

Kumail Nanjian: You can never label Kumail’s style as boring. I love how his J. Crew Ludlow shawl-collar tuxedo has so much vibrancy thanks to the tartan blazer. Some might find it comedic, but it’s refreshing bold to me.

Margot Robbie In Dolce & Gabbana – The First Annual Neon Holiday Party

Margot Robbie hosted the First Annual Neon Holiday Party on Tuesday (December 12) in New York.

The actress has had a string of fashion highs of late with her referencing multiple genres and styles.

Here, she made a statement in a shimmering fishnet Dolce & Gabbana gown that had a punky elegance.

Some might find the belt and the floral accent on the chest to be a tad much, but the details added a quirky touch to the dress while adhering to the designer’s maximalist tendencies.

This is one occasion where I’m happy the frock remained unlined as the sequined-dotted fabric wouldn’t have shone as boldly against a solid base.

Rihanna is Instaglam in Dolce & Gabbana

Rihanna showcased her latest wears to her 58.5 million Instagram followers latest night, much to the delight of her fans.

Giving us excess x 10, the singer wore a Dolce & Gabbana ‘Queen of D&G’ puffer coat from the Fall 2017 collection, which was emblazoned and embellished to an inch of its life.

Some might find this to be a visual overload, especially with the furry colourful bag added into the mix, but for me Rihanna just has that swag, that je ne sais quoi, to pull this over-the-top look off.

I love the look from head-to-toe, especially when topped off with the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna blue lip.

Mila Kunis In Dolce & Gabbana – 2018 Breakthrough Prize

Mila Kunis and husband Ashton Kutcher were in attendance at the 2018 Breakthrough Prize event on Sunday (December 3) in Mountain View, California, joining Lily Collins and Kerry Washington.

The ‘Bad Moms 2’ star has a love of black dresses so I was thrilled to see her mix the inky colour with a bold skirt.

The Dolce & Gabbana ensemble juxtaposed sultriness with feminine charm with the voluminous floral skirt tempering the sexiness of the sheer corset.

I applaud her for going out of her comfort zone, but I wish the proportions of the outfit were tweaked.

The waist is a bit too high and the skirt would have benefited from some tailoring to better complement her petite frame.

Camila Cabello In Dolce & Gabbana – Billboard Women In Music 2017

Camila Cabello was honored with the Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the Billboard Women In Music event on Thursday (November 30) in Hollywood, California, joining fellow honorees Selena Gomez and Solange Knowles.

The singer’s style continues to grow, as she does, however, I’m not sure this Dolce & Gabanna Fall 2017 dress will go down well with the majority.

I do love how she styled her dress with an embellished Dolce & Gabbana and booties to keep it funky, but the collar takes this down a very amish route.

Nieves Alvarez In Dolce & Gabbana – Vogue x Manolo Blahnik Exhibition

I was relieved to see Nieves Alvarez showcasing her supermodel style for the Vogue x Manolo Blahnik Exhibition in Madrid on Tuesday (November 28), following her unfortunate Gucci look last week.

Nieves delivered a masterclass in evening glamour wearing a Dolce & Gabbana sequin dress from the Fall 2017 collection.

Overlaid with light-reflecting sequins and crystal accents that ensured a head-turning impact, the look was styled with Manolo Blahnik metallic pumps and Bulgari jewels.

I wouldn’t have even minded the crown on this occasion, as this sees her back to her perfect best.
