2014 Emmy Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

2014 Emmy Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

While the constellation of actresses on the scene at the 2014 Emmy Awards had all of us focused on the range of red-carpet gowns and glam, there was plenty more eye candy to be had with the men in the mix at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Monday night (August 25).

Matthew McConaughey: Not one to ever be a shrinking violet, the ‘True Detective’ actor and nominee suited up in a bold blue Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit with contrasting black lapels, paired with Christian Louboutin ‘New Orleans’ flats, and a Bulgari watch and cufflinks. Was it my favourite look of his? Perhaps not. It even drew ‘A Night at the Roxbury’ comparisons among the Twitter-verse. But, with that handsome gaze, he can pull off anything.

Aaron Paul: The ‘Breaking Bad’ Emmy winner couldn’t have accepted his trophy in more classic fashion. He wore top-to-toe Prada in a black kid-mohair tuxedo, with a two-button notch-lapel design and velvet trim on the collar. A white smoking silk shirt, black bowtie and black spazzolato lace-up shoes, plus a Bulgari timepiece, completed the look.

Ty Burrell: Channeling his own blue mood, the ‘Modern Family’ Emmy winner wore a custom Todd Snyder tuxedo that was made especially for his big night. The Italian wool design was a collaborative effort between Ty, his stylist, Ilaria Urbinati, and the designer and boasts a unique shade of blue called ‘dusk,’ which nicely updates the tux from the more standard colourways of black and navy.

Chloe Grace Moretz In Dolce & Gabbana – ‘If I Stay’ LA Premiere After-Party

Chloe Grace Moretz In Dolce & Gabbana - 'If I Stay' LA Premiere After-Party

Following the ‘If I Stay’ premiere, Chloe Grace Moretz attended the after-party held at The Roosevelt Hotel on Wednesday (August 20) in Hollywood, California.

Opting for another black tulle gown, on this occasion she wore Dolce & Gabbana.

Accented with lace panels and bows on the short sleeves, while I’m still not excited by this gothic romantic look, I will say I prefer it to her red carpet gown.

Not much of an improvement, or do you prefer this look?

Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Grants Banquet Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of some of the other looks on the red carpet at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Grants Banquet held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Thursday (August 14) in Beverly Hills, California.

Abigail Spencer: The actress opted for a Dolce & Gabbana monochrome look, donning a white chiffon blouse with a playful black bow, styled with streamlined black trousers. Her black Jimmy Choo ‘Void’ lace ankle-strap pumps add a feminine flourish to this mannish offering.

Jessica Parker Kennedy: The actress wore a ladylike Carolina Herrera silver and black metallic-print strapless dress featuring a folded neckline. While I’m not that excited about the styling, it works perfectly for the look.

Gina Rodriguez: While this navy Laquan Smith Fall 2014 dress comes across as heavy, especially for a summer’s evening, I am in lust with this look from head to toe – especially the toes, which were dressed in a pair of tri-colour Jimmy Choo ‘Typhoon’ pumps, with a Kotur cream clutch rounding out this superb red carpet look.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Jessica Alba in Houghton & Osman, Chloe Grace Moretz In Simone Rocha, Damon Wayans Jr. In Dolce & Gabbana & Daniel Radcliffe In Raf Simons

Despite Nina Dobrev leading for most of the weekend, Jessica Alba was your eventual winner of best dressed this week for her Houghton & Osman combo styled with a Christian Louboutin bag and lust-worthy Kotur heels.

Although she didn’t rank highly for you, Chloe Grace Moretz in her Simone Rocha look was my favourite. It was nice to see something different from the young actress. The look was edgy without being try hard.

Damon Wayans Jr. won best-dressed male for his super-sleek three-piece Dolce & Gabbana suit. I went with Daniel Radcliffe’s tonal navy Raf Simons look.

Damon Wayans Jr. joined co-star Nina Dobrev on the red carpet at the premiere of Twentieth Century Fox’s ‘Let’s Be Cops’ at ArcLight Hollywood on Thursday (August 7) in Hollywood, California.

While the likes of Chris Hemsworth are going sans blazer on the red carpet during the summer, Damon opted for a sharp Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit, adding some flair to the look with a striped tie.

As suits go, it’s a pretty damn near perfect fit. Do you agree?

Pixie Lott In Dolce & Gabbana – BBC Breakfast Studios

Pixie Lott In Dolce & Gabbana - BBC Breakfast Studios

Pixie Lott was spotted leaving BBC Breakfast Studios in Manchester, England this morning following her guest appearance to promote her new single.

As always, there will be no prizes for guessing who she is wearing, because the answer is usually the same: Dolce & Gabbana.

Donning a season-appropriate richly textured brocade, printed with colourful blossoms and tailored in a flattering, classic A-line silhouette, she styled the frock with white platform lace-ups.

Having gone au natural a few days ago on the red carpet, she was back to her perfect polished self with blown-out tresses, kohl-rimmed eyes and pretty pink lips.

Megan Fox In Dolce & Gabbana – SiriusXM Studios

Having dropped a few f-bombs aimed at the critics who have panned her movie, ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, Megan Fox was all smiles while paying a visit to SiriusXM Studios today (August 5) in New York City.

Wearing Dolce & Gabbana jacquard chocolate-hued dress accented with crystal-and-pearl embellishments on the short sleeves and at the waist, the length is typically short, but longer than the ultra minis she’s worn so far.

To complement the shimmering tones from her dress, she styled her look with Brian Atwood Tamara silver sandals.

Those glossy tresses continue to be her best feature.
