‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Paris Premiere Menswear Roundup

‘The Hunger Games Catching Fire’ Paris Film Festival Premiere Menswear Roundup

For ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ – penultimate – Paris premiere both gentlemen brought their A game to the red carpet yesterday evening.

Liam Hemsworth: Much like in Rome, the handsome Australian actor kept it classic looking very debonair wearing a Dior Homme black wool single-button small peak lapel tuxedo with sleek satin trims. Styled with a crisp white shirt, black satin tie, black leather derbies with his usual David Yurman accessories completing the look.

Josh Hutcherson: After having a few tailoring issues with his last look, Josh was back on track; serving up this eggplant Dolce & Gabbana suit styled with a grey shirt and micro-striped tie.

GQ Men Of The Year Party

GQ Men Of The Year PartyIt’s no surprise that Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o weren’t the only ones cutting handsome—and pretty—profiles at the GQ 2013 ‘Men of the Year’ party, hosted last night in Los Angeles, California. There was plenty more eye candy to spare.

James Van Der Beek: The actor brought out his own baby blues in a Todd Snyder ensemble, ratcheting up his grey plaid suit with a blue shirt, lighter tie and mixed-print pocket square. The grand finale of the look, though, were those blue shoelaces on his brown loafers.

Darby Stanchfield: Decked out in a burgundy-red Emilio De La Morena Fall 2012 gown, the ‘Scandal’ star mixed sophistication and edginess with this streamlined, lacquered-bodice dress, which actually set off her slicked-back, flame-toned locks. You may remember Julianne Hough previously wore this gown.

Chace Crawford: The actor opted for a light dove-grey, wool two-button small notch lapel suit by Dior Homme, which he wore with a white cotton, button-down shirt, black silk tie and black leather derbies. Something about the suit wasn’t as sizzling as his stare.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear round up 12 nov
Here, a look at the men who made an impression at a round of red carpets yesterday, from New York to Los Angeles and London.

Idris Elba: At the ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’ Los Angeles premiere at the ArcLight Cinemas Cinerama Dome, the actor struck a handsome profile in a navy-blue Burberry suit with contrasting charcoal-grey tie. It was a suave and sophisticated style move, and another welcome reprieve from the traditional black suit.

Ewan McGregor: The Scottish actor showed up to the British Independent Film Awards announcement event at St. Martin’s Lane Hotel in London, where he kept his look rather basic. His tie-less, all-black ensemble trended on the more casual side, with a blazer, T-shirt and trousers. The red cuffs made the statement here.

Orlando Bloom: In the midst of plenty of modish mavens, Orlando Bloom held his own at the CFDA and Vogue 2013 Fashion Fund Finalists event at New York City’s Spring Studios. Taking a more formal route, he dressed up in a Dior Homme navy wool micro-check, two-button notch-lapel suit, paired with a white cotton cut-away collar button-down shirt and brown suede Montaigne boots.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear thursday

Let’s hear it for the boys once again.

Tinie Tempah: The British rapper, who turned 25 today, joined a host of lovely ladies and Idris Elba on the red carpet for the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year awards on Tuesday. He was, of course, wearing his favourite brand Dolce & Gabbana, wearing a three-piece suit including a velvet blazer and vest which had a festive cheer to it. The look packed in plenty of his signatures: bow tie, black-frame glasses, cropped trousers and loafers.

Zachary Quinto: For the Guggenheim International Gala, the ‘Star Trek’ actor donned a Dior Homme grey wool micro-check two-button small-notch-lapel blazer styled with a white cotton button-down shirt, washed ‘Second Round’ Dior Homme denim jeans, and black leather derbies. The blazer confuses me here.

Will Forte: The handsome actor took to the red carpet in New York City last night wearing a grey Simon Spurr suit with a teal-blue tie for the ‘Nebraska’ screening at the Paris Theater.

Dan Stevens: The British actor also attended the Guggenheim International Gala, sporting a dressed-down look. The difference is his look has considerably more finesse than Zachary’s.

‘Thor: The Dark World’ LA Premiere Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Thor Men LA

Some of you were a bit disappointed by the lack of variety when it came to the men’s suits at the LACMA Gala on Saturday, so this menswear post is guaranteed to prove that not all men bet on black.

Chris Hemsworth: Always guaranteed to make us swoon is Chris Hemsworth. He didn’t fail here, donning a crisp Gucci ‘Signoria’ grey peak-lapel two-button suit with a pale-blue dress shirt, silver tie and black leather lace ups. I love that he has kept this tour interesting. His burgundy suit still stands out for me.

Jonathan Howard: Opting to go one better, Jonathan wore a cobalt-blue Alexander McQueen three-piece suit styled with a pristine white shirt and a quirky grey tie with skull and polka-dot print.

Tom Hiddleston: The British actor opted for a more classic menswear look, wearing a black suit and tie. After showcasing his dance moves on Alan Carr’s ‘Chatty Man’ this weekend, he could wear a bin liner and I would still swoon.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Laura Vandervoort In Alex Perry, Zachary Quinto In Dior Homme & David Gandy In Dolce & Gabbana

Best Dressed Of The Week - Laura Vandervoort in Alex Perry, Zachary Quinto in Dior Homme & David Gandy in Dolce & Gabbana

Best dressed was a tight race between Nicole Kidman in Prada and Laura Vandervoort in Alex Perry, with Laura the eventual winner.

Some of you were shocked to see Laura take the lead as you felt there wasn’t anything particularly special about her LWD but, as pointed out, it’s the styling which took this look into another league.

When it came to the fellas you had a harder time picking a winner; Zachary Quinto in Dior Homme and David Gandy in Dolce & Gabbana tied with 36% of your votes.

I can see the dilemma. Zachary’s look was sleek and this was quite a different look for him, whereas David’s dapper three-piece suit had us swooning.

I eventually went for David.

Menswear Midweek Roundup

Menswear Midweek Roundup

Here is a roundup of some of the eye candy taking to the red carpet last night.

David Gandy: The hunky model joined the Christopher-Kane-clad Laura Whitmore and Laura Carmichael at the 2013 Scottish Fashion Awards 2013 held in London yesterday evening. Opting for something distinctively Italian, he smouldered in a Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit with a luxe velvet jacket with satin lapels topped off with a herringbone bow tie.

Michael Fassbender: For the New York screening of his movie ‘The Counselor’, the actor wore a laidback Emporio Armani look featuring jeans, a black blazer and a white shirt. Thankfully, his baby-blue eyes captivate me so much I can’t focus on how underwhelmed I am by his look.

Ralph Fiennes: A gala tribute was hosted in honour of Ralph Fiennes during the New York Film Festival yesterday evening. The British actor looked uber-chilled dressed in a sleek navy-blue Dior Homme wool two-button notch-lapel suit with a black cotton shirt and black leather derbies. This blue is a great colour for him.

Zachary Quinto In Dior Homme – ‘All Is Lost’ New York Film Festival Premiere

Zachary Quinto In Dior Homme - 'All Is Lost' New York Film Festival Premiere

Zachary Quinto attended the ‘All Is Lost’ premiere during the 51st New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City yesterday evening.

Now this is something we don’t see very often. A straight-laced look from Zachary.

Usually the actor has some kind of quirk, even if it is just a skull-print bow tie; however, he kept his look very conservative on this occasion, wearing a Dior Homme navy wool two-button notch-lapel suit, white cotton shirt and stone-blue silk tie.

Nice to see the expected come so unexpected here.
