Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a look at the leading men who have taken to the red carpet over the past few days.

John Boyega: The handsome actor joined his leading lady, Daisy Ridley, for the world premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. I love that he upped the ante wearing a custom Versace tuxedo in a striking shade of burgundy with contrasting black satin shawl lapels. The single leather glove was a nod to Hamill’s Luke Skywalker, whose hand was chopped off by Darth Vader in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’.

Bradley Cooper: The actor joined Jennifer Lawrence for the world premiere of ‘Joy’, on Sunday (December 13) where he was making strides to get back to his sleek best wearing a Thom Sweeney brown check three-piece suit.

Michael B. Jordan: The actor continued his impeccable run at the Dubai Film Festival wearing a Dior Homme grey wool Prince of Wales check suit with a contrast collar shirt providing that small detail to set this look apart.

Elsa Pataky In Naeem Khan & Chris Hemsworth In Dior Homme – ‘In The Heart Of The Sea’ New York Premiere

Elsa Pataky In Naeem Khan & Chris Hemsworth In Dior Homme - 'In The Heart Of The Sea' New York Premiere

Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth together attended the ‘In The Heart Of The Sea’ premiere, held at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center on Monday (December 7) in New York City.

Elsa, who wouldn’t have been out of place at a glam Roaring ‘20s party, wore a fringed Naeem Khan party dress that kicked up the LBD by several shiny notches. A ponytail put a more casually lighthearted spin on the look.

Chris continued his handsomely suave ways by balancing the formal tailoring of a slate Dior Homme suit with the low-key panache of his tieless, unbuttoned white dress shirt and navy suede shoes.

Undoubtedly a gorgeous couple—their ensembles just looked as if they were headed to two different types of events.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael B. Jordan joined their leading ladies – Lizzy Caplan and Tessa Thompson respectively – on the red carpet for their LA premiere’s this week.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt: The actor is well regarded for this red carpet style, and this Dior Homme offering for ‘The Night Before’ premiere was yet another fashion homerun. The navy blue suit was styled with ‘CDH16’ logo ribbon detail on the chest pocket and Christian Louboutin ‘ Top Daviol’ shoes which added a touch of seasonal sparkle.

Michael B. Jordan: Taking to the red carpet for the ‘Creed’ premiere, the actor wore a Calvin Klein Collection silver suit which instantly grabbed my attention for its gritstone texture. Navy Christian Louboutin shoes and a Piaget timepiece completed his look. I have to say I keep going back and forth with this one. No doubt I’m applauding this bold style statement – Michael sure does know how to keep things interesting – but I think I prefer his Westwood look.

With the 19th annual Hollywood Film Awards hosted over the weekend on Saturday (November 1) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, not to mention the Cinematheque Award a few days earlier, a solid set of men were out in force.

Channing Tatum
: At the Hollywood Film Awards, the actor was suitably dapper in a navy-blue Dior Homme two-button notch-lapel suit paired with a white cotton dress shirt and navy satin tie for a simple and sharp finish.

Will Smith
: Also at the Hollywood Film Awards, Will wore a black three-piece suit that likely would have looked a lot more modern had the geometric tie been an inch or two thinner.

Matthew McConaughey
: Matthew (and his buzz cut) were attired in a Dolce & Gabbana three-piece ensemble at the 29th American Cinematheque Award Honoring Reese Witherspoon at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California on Thursday (October 30). The real beauty of this suit was the subtle, embossed patterned effect of the suit.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup 18 sept

Here’s the final roundup of the leading men who have been escorting their leading ladies down the red carpets of London and Toronto this week.

Adrien Brody: The actor joined Salma Hayek for the ‘Septembers of Shiraz’ premiere during the 2015 Toronto Film Festival on Tuesday (September 15).  Once again he was cultivating sophistication wearing a Dior Homme charcoal wool Prince de Galles suit.

Ryan Reynolds: The actor was looking oh so handsome on the red carpet for the ‘Mississippi Grind’ premiere during Toronto Film Festival on Wednesday (September 16). I love his navy Burberry Tailoring suit for its modern-classic vibes.

Dev Patel: While we usually associate the British actor with colourful suits, but he kept his Burberry Tailoring look simple, yet modern for ‘The Man Who Knew Infinity’ Toronto Film Festival premiere on Thursday (September 17).  I love how he injected some personality into the look via the camo tie.

With the GQ Men of the Year Awards as well as a few other key premieres, the men have made a fine showing the past few days. Here, a look at their ensembles.

David Gandy: Forever cutting a striking profile, David showed us all how a classic tux should be worn at the GQ Men of the Year Awards at The Royal Opera House in London, England on Tuesday (September 8).

Jake Gyllenhaal: The double-breasted coat isn’t always easy to wear, but Jake pulls it off in this head-to-toe Salvatore Ferragamo ensemble at the ‘Everest’ premiere at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday (September 9). The baby-blue shirt, which reflected his eyes, was the best decision here.

Samuel L. Jackson: Acting as host of the GQ Men of the Year Awards, the actor was debonair in a polished Giorgio Armani head-to-toe look. I loved the monochromatic nature of the ensemble elevated by the slight contrast of the satin lapels and metallic bow tie.

Amber Heard In Stella McCartney & Johnny Depp In Dior Homme – ‘Black Mass’ Venice Film Festival Premiere

VENICE, ITALY - SEPTEMBER 04: Johnny Depp and Amber Heard attend a premiere for 'Black Mass' during the 72nd Venice Film Festival on September 4, 2015 in Venice, Italy. (Photo by Elisabetta A. Villa/WireImage)

Amber Heard joined Johnny Depp for the premiere of his latest movie, ‘Black Mass’ during the 2015 Venice Film Festival on Friday (September 4) in Venice, Italy.

Amber Heard: Making a grand entrance, the actress was back to her jaw-dropping, femme fatale best looking breath-taking wearing a Stella McCartney Spring 2016 bustier gown. You’ll be forgiven if you initially thought this was a Mugler gown like I did. Bulgari jewels and Christian Louboutin ‘Cross Me’ sandals completed her look which lends a delicate air of darkened femininity to the festivities.

Johnny Depp: The actor wore a Dior Homme navy wool and silk shawl collar classic tuxedo. The poor fit of the trousers is only enhance by the tragic Dior Homme footwear.
