Emily Ratajkowski In Marc Jacobs – 2017 Met Gala

Emily Ratajkowski attended the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Mermaid colours melded with Van Gogh-esque Impressionist blurs in this sequined Marc Jacob gown.

I loved this look for its vibrancy of hue on Emily and for its silhouette that saw the star offer up a more subtly seductive allure—sans skin-baring high slits and plunging necks.

A stunning array of eye-candy rings and hoop earrings along with waterfall waves and the thin echo of bright blue liner across her eyes were a striking finish for the look.

Zoe Kravitz In Oscar de la Renta – 2017 Met Gala

Zoe Kravitz attended the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1).

The actress wore a two-tone Oscar de la Renta gown with diamond jewel to accent it.

This gown has so many fabulous elements, and I’m just sitting here eating them all up! The blush pink and black combination is forever classic and forever perfect. The draping of the satin that gives us both a cape and train effect at once is fashion genius, and the billowy, feathered detailing is over-the-top gorgeous.

And then can we say blonde pixie? Of all the stars who have cut off and dyed their hair this way, I have to say, Zoe seems to embody the style. She looks simultaneously edgy and gorgeous, and I hope she keeps it this way for a while.

Dakota Johnson In Gucci – 2017 Met Gala

Dakota Johnson went for the drama on the blue carpet of the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1).

The actress wore a dramatic Gucci gown with cut-out detailing and ruffle rosettes galore.

This one took me a minute, you guys. My first reaction was rather ‘meh’, but this one really grew on me. The double strap around the waist and chest is very viscerally appealing, and from a design standpoint, it’s really cool that the same straps are working to hold together the bodice and serve as sleeves.

And now those rosettes. While they are almost heavy-handed at certain angles, they’re also completely striking from others.

Her rosy cheeks and matte mauve lips (a huge makeup trend for the night) are fresh and lovely.

So weigh in: What do you think of this look?

Katie Holmes In Zac Posen – 2017 Met Gala

Katie Holmes glided forth with an elegance of form at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Avant-garde it may not have been, but her Zac Posen Fall 2017 gown oozed of old Hollywood glamour done up in sculptural proportions.

A celebration of the feminine form, the deep-teal, mermaid design even featured the rippling of textural waves through the skirt and train.

The sophisticated drama was only increased by her decision to wear it in an off-the-shoulder style.

Zendaya Coleman In Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Couture – 2017 Met Gala

I expected something more avant-garde from Zendaya at the 2017 Met Gala, however, I wasn’t disappointed with her final look.

Not only did she go big with the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Fall 2015 Couture parrot print gown, but also with the fro’ cut in the style of Rei Kawakubo.

Bold, colourful and eye-catching – which isn’t easy on this red carpet – it’s a look I’m sure to remember.

Riley Keough In Louis Vuitton – 2017 Met Gala

Riley Keough hit the blue carpet of the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1).

The actress wore a zipper-front Louis Vuitton sequin column gown with a few delicate rings and striking boots.

Riley’s styling here is impeccable. The idea of wearing booties with this look is downright inspired. The military inspired stripes and cords, along with the asymmetry in the print and belt is all so hard-edged and it’s a real delight. Very offbeat, and as a result, so much fashion fun.

I also love Riley’s simplistic makeup. It would have been very easy to ramp up her beauty look to go along with this dress, but by keeping things glowy and soft, a real story is being told.

Alexa Chung In Diane von Furstenberg – 2017 Met Gala

Alexa Chung attended the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1).

The fashion influencer wore a Diane von Furstenberg gown with Monique Péan jewelry.

This gown is so much fun with it’s tiny dotted print. It also fits like a dream, and is really Alexa’s signature style come to life in one dress.

All that said, at an occasion such as the Met Gala, this definitely get lost amid the drama and risks. Which I hate, because it’s a absolutely gorgeous gown, and Alexa looks fabulous!

I also would have loved to see Alexa step outside her hair comfort zone and lose her signature messy lob for something more daring–and perhaps even theme-appropriate?–for tonight.
