Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Derek Lam’s Spring 2012 collection gave us more of his signature classic 60s flair this afternoon.

Clean, crisp lines were presented on a warm colour palette of yellow, mustard, caramel and gold with some refreshing aqua, white and pops of pink.

We saw luxurious knits, leather blazers, linen skirts, marine and peppermint kaleidoscope print dresses, blouses and pants.

Key accessories included Albertus Swanepoel hats, structured alligator ‘Charley’ satchel, leather cage appliqué ‘Bristol’ wedges, python ‘Daytona’ pumps and leather ‘Rio’ clogs.

Brooklyn Decker and Michelle Monaghan wore very similar punchy pink dresses on the redc carpet at the 2011 Met Gala last night.

Brooklyn wore a Michael Kors neon pink long sleeve gown which she teamed with Michael Kors accessories including nude platform sandal and a silver python barrel clutch.

Michelle wore a rose pink Derek Lam long sleeve dress with H.Stern jewels.

Both look stunning, but I can’t take my eyes of Brooklyn’s neon pink gown with a thigh-high split.

I love the vibrancy of her gown plus I love her contrasting clutch.

Derek Lam is always a highlight on my Fashion Week calendar.

The designers’ Fall 2011 collection consisted of lots of layering and incredible tailoring.

The laid back collection showcased comfortable pieces and cool coats with the collar popped.

I loved the mix of menswear inspired pieces which had a lot of attitude and the beautiful flowy gowns which made up the finale.

There was something for every type of girl. Whether you are a hipster or a girlie girl.

Lam presented Pea coats which we’ve seen a lot of this fashion week. They were paired with red and black wool stretch flannel pants.

We also saw printed textured pants, trench coats, an electric blue jumpsuit, blouses with neck ties and a hot red leather jacket.

Derek Lam knows what women want and that was evident in this amazing collection.

Favourites: mustard and grey halter dress and fawn silver fox coat

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Kate Bosworth, Camilla Belle, Jennifer Aniston, Leighton Meeter, Rashida Jones, Thandie Newton, and Maria Sharapova

Looks like Camilla Belle is back.

This is her 2nd red carpet appearance in as many weeks and I’m sure many more will follow.

The difference between this run and her other red carpet appearances is that she actually has a movie to promote, “Prada to Nada”.

Camille looked radiant at the 2010 Freedom Awards in LA last night wearing a Derek Lam Spring 2011 ensemble.

The look consisted of a nude embellished vest and a black skirt with a perforated detail around the hemline.

She carried a black clutch and completed her look with Brian Atwood Katie Lee patent-leather sandals.

As much as I judge her, I can’t fault her perfection on the red carpet.

She looks stunning.

Kate Bosworth attended the grand opening of Esquire House LA hosted by Sienna Miller in LA this weekend.

The actress kept her look simple yet chic wearing a Derek Lam Spring 2011 look.

This look included a black top with a printed insert which was paired with a Raffia skirt.

Side swept hair, bold red lips and Sergio Rossi black suede heels completed the look.

Kate had a busy weekend because she also attended Spike TV’s Scream 2010 Awards to support her boyfriend, ‘True Blood’ actor Alexander Skarsgard.

She was spotted backstage wearing a No. 21 Fall 2010 dress.

I love her chiffon lilac frock with a ruffled detail and her casually tousled hairstyle.

I’m not at all impressed with her Nicholas Kirkwood pumps, but then I hardly am impressed with pumps on the red carpet these days.

Derek Lam’s Spring 2011 started off with smart denims followed by clean crisp spring looks.

I thought about Celine whilst watching this presentation, because this collection had that same minimal, ultra refined elegance.

I found myself being quite blown away by this presentation.

We were presented with A-line suede skirts, poplin blouses, cashmere sweaters, ponchos, pleated skirt, chic dresses and fabulous outerwear, including a canvas trench with a swingy ruffled drape in the back.

The show ended with cool breezy maxi print dresses. It was like you could feel the sea breeze gently swirling around the tents.

Models sported voluminous 60s hair. Their make-up was clean and simple with a flash of bright red liner added to the upper eye lids.

Favourites: Printed halter maxi dress, the black sateen top paired with the embellished skirt and the khaki trench dress

Front Row: Leighton Meester, Deborah Cox and Rashida Jones

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Leighton Meeter, Rashida Jones, Thandie Newton, Robin Wright Penn, Maria Sharapova and Sarah Jessica Parker
