Skai Jackson In Cynthia Rowley – ‘Leap’ LA Premiere

Skai Jackson was also present for the ‘Leap!’ premiere on Saturday (August 19) in LA alongside Carly Rae Jepsen and Maddie Ziegler.

I love how the feminine and ultra-defined elements champion the fit-and-flare construction of this Cynthia Rowley Spring 2017 dress.

While a dose of fun is achieved through the embroidery, I would’ve loved a cobalt or emerald sandal for this look.

Models @ The 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards

It was all cheekbones and centre-partings as models descended on the 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 5) in New York City.

Bella Hadid: The model is a fan of flashing flesh but kept it sophisticated in this blazer-style dress from Off-White Fall 2017. Top marks for the flared sleeves and retro full fringe. We’ll ignore the pale pink lunch bag style clutch.

Maye Musk: I do love the humour and personality in this Rosie Assoulin Spring 2017 dress. It’s unashamedly extroverted and doesn’t apologise for its bling accessories courtesy of Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry.

Karen Elson: Ah, red and green a hallowed combination that almost never goes wrong. Unfortunately, the tried and tested combo falls short here. The Anna Sui Fall 2017 dress is a confusing array of frills, draping, and puff sleeves. Combined with heavy shoes, this look is overwhelmingly bad.

VH1’s ‘Dear Mama’ Event

Famous moms were in the mix at VH1’s 2nd annual ‘Dear Mama: An Event to Honor Moms’ on Saturday (May 6) in Pasadena, California.

Halle Berry: The actress showcased her penchant for sheer and slits in a Ports 1961 ensemble featuring a distressed mesh top and asymmetric trousers. Unfortunately, I wasn’t buying her bod-flaunting ways this time around as the entire look crossed both unflattering and dated territories. And, the embellished platform heels contributed to the problem.

Kelly Rowland: I much preferred Kelly’s approach at the event, as she donned a feminine Cynthia Rowley floral-embroidered dress, which was both sweet and sexy without a hint of try-hard.

La La Anthony: La La was not one to choose the girls or the gams, as she showed off both in a red Zachary The Label figure-hugging gown, complete with a body chain and gold strappy sandals.

Comic-Con 2015 Red Carpet Roundup

Comic con roundup
The star-studded Comic-Con 2015 weekend brought out a host of other bold names for the range of parties and panel discussions in San Diego, California.

Natalie Dormer: Attending the Screen Gems panel, the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress wore a Mary Katrantzou lamur guipure lace and jacquard midi dress with blue-green embroidered accents. I like how her ponytail adds a fresh, breezy note to this darker look, but I have no words for the shoes that should have been a simple black or blue sandal if nothing else. You may remember that Shailene Woodley wore the same dress a few months ago.

Sarah Paulson: Fusing femininity with structure, this Suno cutout flared black dress was a successful look for Sarah at the Entertainment Weekly Comic-Con 2015 party. I was equally delighted to see her step outside the plain-black box with accessories including a silver Edie Parker clutch and silver Aldo shoes.

Kate Mara: Also joining the dark colour parade, Kate wore an embellished Valentino Fall 2015 design at the 20th Century Fox panel discussion. She let the mini dress shine all on its own with only minimal styling including a simple pair of black sandals and a few beaded bracelets, which I would argue were unnecessary too.

Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute To Steve Martin

Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute To Steve Martin

The American Film Institute’s 43rd Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute To Steve Martin took place at the Dolby Theatre on Thursday (June 4) in Hollywood, California.

Tina Fey: I love how her sensual lace J. Mendel dress upholds notions of ultimate femininity with its figure-hugging, flattering silhouette.

Jenna Elfman: This Teatum Jones colour-block dress with it geometric patterned embellishments and raw frayed edges was perhaps my favourite look at this event, especially when styled with yellow pumps. However, I wish the dress had been more nipped in at the waist so it didn’t appear to be so boxy.

Katharine McPhee In Marchesa & Cynthia Rowley – Late Show with David Letterman & Extra

Katharine McPhee In Marchesa & Cynthia Rowley - Late Show with David Letterman & Extra

Katharine McPhee was out and about on Wednesday (September 10) in New York City promoting her new show, ‘Scorpion’.

‘Late Show with David Letterman’: Dressed to impress, the actress looked divine wearing a Marchesa floral Chantilly lace cocktail frock with a watercolour-printed tulle overlay and draped neckline. I love how her pink and black toecap Casadei pumps subtly complement the look; however, I wish the hair was pulled back here.

‘Extra’: Katharine opted for a look with a more youthful vibe for her guest appearance on ‘Extra’. Again the shoes played a vital part in this look, with her green pumps complementing the cabochon stones on her Cynthia Rowley Fall 2014 shell top and matching flounce skirt. The only thing missing here perhaps was an orange clutch, because the red cabochon stones matched her lip colour.

While Katharine looked great on both occasions, the first is my favourite for its flirty feminine appeal. Perhaps the second look should’ve been saved for Kiernan Shipka.
