Variety Power of Women Event Red Carpet Roundup

Blake Lively wasn’t the only power female at Variety’s Power of Women: New York event on Friday (April 21) in New York City, as other leading femmes were also in attendance.

Jessica Chastain: As an honoree of the evening, Jessica dressed for the occasion with chic sophistication in a Carolina Herrera embellished dress with playful tied sleeves. As the actress looks so good in colour, I’m glad she wore a vibrant mulberry lip, with silver metallic pumps adding more zing.

Katie Lee: You won’t find any objection from me with the bold, bright nature of this Proenza Schouler lily print frock. I do wish she had more sleekly completed the look with a stronger makeup look and a pulled-back hairstyle.

Salma Hayek: Salma went for a classically reserved Balenciaga ensemble with elongating stripes. But, I do wish she had worn a sandal instead of the patent black pumps to further the effect.

End Of The Week Roundup

With so many looks over the past week, here is a roundup of a few that were missed in the red carpet crush of events.

Julie Ann Emery: Joining Jenny Slate at the ‘Gifted’ LA premiere on Tuesday (April 4), Julie Ann embraced a minimalist angle in this Ingie Paris gown that was lovely for its aura of simplicity, although it seemed to fall a tad long at the front.

Olivia Culpo: Speaking of minimalism, this greige Cushnie et Ochs asymmetric jumpsuit was an easy-chic offering. But, it really just played second fiddle to her ultra-bronzed beauty at the grand opening celebration of the W Las Vegas on Friday (March 31).

Jess Weixler:‏ Visually enticing, the crisp white lines of this Jason Wu gown punctuated its rich burgundy hue. I only wish the actress had opted for a sleeker updo at ‘The SON’ LA premiere on Monday (April 3).

Shay Mitchell In Cushnie et Ochs – PaleyFest Los Angeles: ‘Pretty Little Liars’

Shay Mitchell attended the PaleyFest Los Angeles event for ‘Pretty Little Liars’ on Saturday (March 25) in Hollywood, California.

We’re used to seeing Cushnie et Ochs celebrate the female form with contemporary pieces in a fitted silhouette, however, this Pre-Fall 2017 dress possesses a loose, fluid feel with an offbeat asymmetrical neckline to set it apart from the norm.

The nude hue and silk fabrication look so soft and buttery against her olive skin, with simple sandals rounding out this effortless look.

Brie Larson In Cushnie et Ochs – John Goodman Honored With Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Brie Larson’s style gets better with each red carpet appearance, and I’m sure many of you agree.

Her latest look, worn to a ceremony honoring John Goodman with the 2,604th Star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday (March 10) in LA, was courtesy of Cushine et Ochs.

Undoubtedly fresh and embracing the mood for the Spring season – despite its Pre-Fall 2017 label – this is a true modern classic.

Keeping the styling super simple, she managed to offset any sweetness with a grey pair of ankle strap pumps which wouldn’t have been my first choice, but they don’t detract any of the beauty from this look.

Demi Lovato In Cushnie et Ochs – ‘Beyond Silence’ Documentary Premiere

Demi Lovato attended the premiere of ‘Beyond Silence’ on Wednesday (February 22) in LA.

There was a time when I wasn’t too fond of Demi’s style, but something has shifted; something has changed and it’s a change for the better.

Her Cushnie et Ochs Spring 2017 look is effortlessly elegant, while possessing a hint of sex appeal.

While the trousers maybe a inch too long, they do serve as the striking feature within look.

You may remember that Naomie Harris opted to wear these trousers to a screening of ‘Moonlight’ recently, but opted to switch up the runway top.

Olivia Culpo Front Row @ NYFW Fall 2017

There seemed to be hardly a front row seat without Olivia Culpo’s name on it during New York Fashion Week—her respective designer looks from each show reflecting the wide variety of presentations she frequented.

Noon By Noor: Mannish vamp was the mood with her all-black ensemble at the Noon By Noor show on Thursday (February 9), where her sleek bun and glossy crimson lip took the look from standard to sultry.

Cushnie Et Ochs: Pants again were in play at the Cushnie et Ochs show on Friday (February 10), but the most I noticed of them was where the waistband peeked through the deep plunge of the vest that actually seemed strangely ill-fitting. It compromised the outfit, as sometimes a plunge is just too deep. She accessorized with a Lee Savage clutch.

Zimmermann: From menswear to mega-feminine, Olivia flipped the script at the Zimmermann show on Monday (February 13) with a look from the label’s Spring 2017 collection that served up ruffled, lacy romanticism with an innocently sultry finish. With the lace-up boots, you can see the ‘sexy pirate’ edge that was rife throughout that collection.
