Red Carpet Fashion Awards

LFW 1

Here is my red carpet wish list from the Spring 2014 shows presented during London Fashion Week.

Antonio Berardi: Of all the designers, Antonio’s was the hardest to select just one from, as there are so many looks I am dying to see on the red carpet. In the end I selected Look 4 for Rose Byrne. The actress, who loves blush tones, would look remarkable in this look. It’s soft and pretty, with delicate embellishments, yet the mullet hem gives the look an edgier twist than we are used to seeing from the Aussie star.

Barbara Casasola: The Brazilian-born designer has been steadily growing her celebrity fan base with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Sonam Kapoor as fans, so I hope to see more of her pieces on the red carpet. Marion Cotillard would look amazing wearing this dual-colour black-and-lilac streamline frock. It would be perfect for a New York or London screening.

Rebecca Hall In Christopher Kane - 'Une Promesse' Venice Film Festival Photocall

Rebecca Hall attended the photocall of ‘Une Promesse’ during the 2013 Venice Film Festival at Palazzo del Casino in Venice, Italy earlier today.

The British actress wore a Christopher Kane Resort 2014 sleeveless yellow-and-black swirling digital print dress with yellow buttons accenting the placket and the skirt.

Unlike Catalina Sandino Moreno, who’s photocall look consisted of high heels and plenty of boobage, Rebecca’s more laidback approach may sit more favourably with most of you, that is of course until you get to her gold sandals with a white platform.

Gia Coppola's Weekend At Venice Film Festival

Gia Coppola took to the red carpet several times over the weekend attending events during the 2013 Venice Film Festival.

Art of Elysium’s ‘Child of God’ and ‘Palo Alto’ event: On Saturday the writer-director kick-started proceedings wearing an off-the-shoulder Christopher Kane Fall 2013 black velvet loop-tape dress featuring a nude lining we didn’t see on the runway. Black sandals and a black clutch with gold hardware completed her look.

‘Palo Alto’ photocall: The following day Gia opted for a head-to-toe Proenza Schouler look, selecting a black-and-white zigzag tweed dress with a small keyhole detail paired with black python pumps, both from the Resort 2014 collection. While the first look was sexy, this one has a youthful vibe. It’s interesting how she’s opted for two edgy designers, yet selected easy-to-wear pieces.

‘Palo Alto’ premiere: For the premiere on Sunday evening Gia couldn’t have looked more like her aunt Sofia, wearing a classic suit by Saint Laurent styled with a white blouse and black bow tie, keeping the makeup fresh and neutral for her borrowed-from-the-boys look.

Vanity Fair 10th Anniversary Celebrations: For her after-dark look, Gia wore a sexy Zac Posen strapless frock with a below-the-knee trumpet hemline and geometric folded detail at the bodice. Still opting for makeup in a neutral colour palette, she once again opted for black accessories, this time wearing black sandals and a satin clutch. You may remember that Naya Rivera wore this same dress back in April.

Of all these looks, the Saint Laurent is my favourite. I feel like this is more her style. The Zac Posen was my second favourite for pure sex appeal – something Zac Posen is a master at.

Cate Blanchett In Christopher Kane - 'Blue Jasmine' Paris Premiere

Cate Blanchett arrived at the UGC Ciné Cité Bercy in Paris, France this evening for the ‘Blue Jasmine’ premiere.

Breaking her pastel-pink-and-coral run, she opted for a mysterious Christopher Kane Resort 2014 black-and-nude frock.

The striking cobweb-motif creation with a tulle skirt is a fashion-forward look which I had always pictured on Rooney Mara; however, I’m not sure she would’ve taken my breath away quite as much as Cate does here.

Even with the intricate, complicated pattern, there is still a soft romanticism I am feeling from this look, which could be down to the dress or the women herself – either way, this is a BDOTW-worthy look.

Do you agree?

Chloe Moretz In Christopher Kane - 2013 Teen Choice Awards

Chloe Moretz took time out of her promo tour for ‘Kick-Ass 2′ to attend the 2013 Teen Choice Awards at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday evening.

The actress wore an off-the-shoulder black dress with red, blue, white and yellow elastic panels from Christopher Kane’s Resort 2014 collection.

You may remember that Emilia Clarke wore a red tonal version of this dress, so I’m delighted to see the colourful look-book version take to the red carpet.

Simple styling, including Jimmy Choo sandals and a purposely messy chignon, was the perfect way to ensure all eyes were firmly on her dress.

Rose Byrne In Christopher Kane - 'Blue Jasmine' LA Premiere

Rose Byrne looked as graceful as ever taking to the red carpet at the AMPAS Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California, for the ‘Blue Jasmine’ LA premiere.

The Australian actress wore a Christopher Kane Resort 2014 dress, which is our second look at the collection on the red carpet within a week.

She selected a pretty white cotton broderie dress which maintains the designer’s edge with pointy edges along the hemline and shoulders.

Casadei ‘Rodio Steelix’ pumps (as seen on Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Selena Gomez) and a classic Edie Parker ‘Jean’ clutch in an eye-catching lavender hue accessorized her look with barely-there makeup and a wavy updo providing the finishing touches.

I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is perfection personified.
