Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Laura Carmichael, better known as Lady Edith from ‘Downton Abbey’, attended the Veuve Clicqout Gold Cup Polo Final at Cowdray Park Polo Club in Midhurst, England, on Sunday afternoon.

The actress stood out against the yellow backdrop wearing a colourful dress from the Christopher Kane Resort 2013 collection.

Her sheer hem sleeveless dress with a cinched-in waist was styled with a black printed leather motorcycle jacket which features a quilted detail on the shoulders.

It’s hard to tell if the addition of the jacket is a style statement or a necessity with the gloomy weather we are having in the UK.

An additional pop of colour came via her cobalt-blue Christopher Kane sandals.

Most of the attendees for the Christian Dior Fall 2012 presentation of course wore Dior – even high-street loving Olivia Palermo.

The one person, aside from Donatella Versace and Anna Wintour, who didn’t wear Dior was Caroline Sieber.

She opted to wear a Christopher Kane pink sheer, print and pleated pelmet dress from the Resort 2013 collection, which she styled with black strappy sandals.

You will be delighted to know that you can pre-order this gorgeous dress from ModaOperandi right now.

The trunkshow for Christopher Kane, which started today, ends on July 10 so you have just 5 days to select your favourite pieces.

You have a wide selection ranging from floral-print tracksuits and black cracked leather jackets to ladylike lace, pleated and floral dresses to choose from.

The fashion-savvy Caroline picked the best piece, but my second favourite look is the printed princess dress.

Will a real princess select this look? She does favour British designers after all.

Promoting her latest film ‘Seeking a Friend for the End of the World,’ Keira Knightley stopped by the ‘Today’ show at the NBC studios in New York City on Monday morning.

Despite the early wake-up call, Keira was vibrant wearing a Christopher Kane Fall 2012 skirt.

The deep-red pencil skirt is heavily embroidered with black-and-white wiring and trimmed with black leather.

To offset the ornate skirt, the actress paired the bottom with a basic black shirt and black Mulberry pumps.

A delicate chain necklace acts as the only accessory with a smooth ponytail completing the look.

Alexa Chung was the host of the Scottish Fashion Awards 2012 held at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow, Scotland, yesterday evening.

One of the night’s biggest winners was Christopher Kane, who was named Scottish Fashion Designer of the Year 2012, beating off competition from two-times winner Jonathan Saunders.

Either Alexa knew the winner beforehand, or she decided to wear this Christopher Kane Spring 2012 dress to show her ongoing support for her designer pal.

She wore an exquisite brown and silver metallic brocade dress which she paired with a crisp white shirt with an embellished collar and cuffs.

Alexa’s dress features a flat waist peplum detail

Those of you familiar with Alexa’s style will know that this dress/shirt mix is something she often does as she likes a boyish twist to her looks.

Tassel-accented suede Gucci ‘Mischa’ loafer pumps completed her look.

I feel like I’m really starting to warm to Alexa’s red-carpet style.

Last week Caroline Sieber attended A Celebration of the Arts at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

The stylist wore a Christopher Kane ensemble inspired by the designer’s Spring 2012 collection.

Her bespoke look consisted of a hand-embroidered jewel chainmail sleeveless top with a matching skirt.

From the close-up you can see how divine the detailing is. I can imagine that it weighed a ton.

Louis Vuitton accessories perfected the look. Caroline added a mother-of-pearl striped miniaudiere and two-tone grey-and-chocolate bow-accented ostrich pumps.

When Shailene Woodley stepped out for the Vanity Fair party, I wished she had modified her dress into a gown.

Well that is just what she did with this Christopher Kane Fall 2012 dress for Monday nights 2012 Met Gala, which goes from knee-length on the runway to full-length on the red carpet.

Her gunmetal chainmail dress with multi-coloured wire, floral embroidery and leather panel details is just the futuristic, youthful look that the actress needed during awards season.

Not one to add many accessories, Shailene completed her look with a sleek ponytail and diamond stud earrings.
