The Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary Capsule Collection

Today Christian Louboutin announced the launch of their 20th anniversary Capsule Collection.

The red-sole heels have become the must-have footwear brand.

It would be easier to count the celebrities who haven’t been seen sporting his red soles on the red carpet, but his biggest fans are Blake Lively, Dita Von Teese, Victoria Beckham and Rihanna.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary milestone the designer created a capsule collection of twenty styles of shoes and six bags, which I was lucky enough to view last week.

These exclusive sketches give you a sneak preview, but if you want to view the full collection check out the Christian Louboutin Facebook page.

On the page you’ll be able to sign up to receive an email invitation to shop the collection when it becomes available online.

UK and European readers need not worry because Christian Louboutin will be opening a UK and European online boutique very soon.

On Monday, 27th February, Selfridges will be launching a pop-up store where you will be able to purchase this exciting capsule collection.

For those who do not live in Europe, Canada or the US, your chance to shop this capsule collection will come in March, when the collection will be available from Christian Louboutin boutiques.

The capsule collection will be limited so make sure you visit the Christian Louboutin facebook page for more info.

Christian Louboutin vs. Topshop

Whilst shopping in Brent Cross during the holidays I was shocked to see these Topshop Supreme Extreme platform heels.

The 6.5 inch heels are clearly inspired by the Christian Louboutin ‘Daffodile’ pumps which were the celebrity shoe of 2011, as they were much loved by Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga and Fan Bingbing.

Now you can try your hand at navigating the streets in these scary looking pumps.

The Daffodile’s would set you back $1,095, but the Supreme Extreme platform pumps only cost $176 from Topshop US and £88 from Topshop International.

I look these pumps and immediately picture long queues at A&E for ankle related injuries.

Would you buy these heels?

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Loves Her Christian Louboutin Pigalle Plato Pumps

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is having an amazing run on the red carpet during her “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon” promo tour.

Whilst she’s given us backless, strapless and halter gowns with some thigh-high splits, plus chic separates and sexy day dresses, the one thing that’s been consistent is her love for her nude Christian Louboutin Pigalle Plato pumps.

She most recently wore them to the New York Premiere, but I she’s worn them on 4 other occasions.

The love started at the 2011 Glamour Women of the Year Awards when she paired the pumps with her Stella McCartney dress.

Whilst the pumps work with many different styles and looks, their most recent appearance didn’t quite work for me.

You can find these pumps at Browns Fashion.

Celebrities Love…Christian Louboutin Daffodile Pumps

Celebrities love Christian Louboutin Daffodile pumps.

I love Louboutin’s as much as the next woman, but I don’t get the appeal of these particular shoes.

I guess that’s because I’m already 5ft 11ins, so I don’t need an extra 6.5 inches.

My other problem is that they are too heavy with all of the looks these celebrity has gone for.

Only Heidi Klum managed to make it her sparkly heels work with her look.

I guess it’s just not meant to be a red carpet shoe, or it’s better worn in a different colours.

‘Daffodile’ devottees Kim Kardashian and Beyonce Knowles have managed to make these heels work with what they are wearing whilst ‘off-duty.’

If you would like an extra 6.5inches you can check out these heels at Net-A-Porter US, Net-A-Porter International and Saks.com.
