Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Kate Bosworth and her beau Michael Polish were spotted in New York City looking very much loved up earlier this week.

The actress opted for very summery look, teaming a nude H&M metallic shimmering sleeveless top with Chloe scalloped shorts.

I love that Kate is recycling these Spring 2009 classic shorts. We first saw her wearing them back in October 2008.

Seems like a lifetime ago.

She accessorized her look with tan Chloe flats, Tom Ford shades and a Jason Wu ‘Daphne’ bag.

Her ivory cross-body bag has architectural, clean lines and a medley of mixed-texture leather, making it the perfect modern lady-like bag.

On her last red-carpet outing, Elizabeth Olsen carried a bag from The Row which totally ruined her look.

When it comes to street style she made a more appropriate choice by carrying the Chloe ‘Angie’ tote which she loves to sport whilst off duty.

Elizabeth has been inseparable from her tote and I can see why.

The luxe leather dark-brown ‘Angie’ tote with a clean shape and gold hardware makes it an instant classic.

Jessica Alba and fashion blogger Tala from My Fash Diary are also fans of this tote.

or in salmon-pink and chestnut from farfetch.com.

My first reaction to this dark-haired beauty was, “Who is this?”

On closer inspection I realised that it is Jessica Stam.

The model who temporarily dyed her blonde hair black for a recent photoshoot attended the Joe Fresh Flagship Store opening in New York City yesterday evening.

Dressed in spring colours, the model wore a Chloe Spring 2012 striped, pleated dress.

She opted to wear the dress with a cream cropped wool jacket, the runway belt and matching ankle-strap pumps.

It would’ve been tempting for Jessica to opt for an edgy or gothic look with this darker hair colour, but I’m glad she kept her look ultra girlie.

Chloé Fall 2012

Despite this being a Fall 2012 collection, Clare Waight Keller presented a lot of pastel hues to keep us looking effortless and carefree whilst wearing Chloé during the winter months.

Models with barely-there makeup and naturally teased tresses took to the runway wearing relaxed silhouettes.

Parisian chic meets an easy English attitude by combining parka jackets with silk scarf blouses, fitted pants, jogging-style pants or boyfriend culottes.

Oversized military coats, luxurious knitwear, hooded ponchos, knee-length skirts, quilted jackets, lace tops, silk shirts and drop-waist dresses were presented for daywear.

For evening, we saw feminine lace frocks and a black silk cut-out jumpsuit.

Since posting my pictures of the Chloé bags on Instagram and twitter the three-in-one ‘Lucy’ bag and oversized pochettes have received such a positive reaction that I’m sure they will become the must-have pieces of the Fall season.

Other key accessories included pumps and flatforms with ankle straps in suede and leather.

Whilst at the Chloé Pre-Fall 2012 press preview I also checked out the bags and shoes.

The bags came in all shapes and sizes, colourways, prints and textures including exotic skins, houndstooth, ostrich leather and shiny metallics.

The ‘Sally’ bag is updated for Pre-Fall with studded details, or a leather strap, plus a selection of hot red metallic’s which are perfect for the season.

I have a feeling that the nappa leather bags with the black handles and fringed details will become a celebrity favourite.

Some bags like the tan drawstring bag with gold hardware carries on the thick leather strap from the Spring 2012 collection.

For Pre-Fall the flats will have a scalloped edge, boots with be studded or accented with fur and the heeled loafers will have gold accents.

During Couture Fashion Week I was invited to view Chloé’s Pre-Fall 2012 press preview.

This is the second collection under Chloé’s new creative director, Clare Waight Keller, who was inspired by the images of 1960s and 1970s street-style photographer Garry Winogrand.

A lot of the pieces were volumized as the designer seemed to enjoy playing with proportions; the collection included cocoon-shaped coats, jackets, oversized checks and pants, boyfriend sweaters and boxy blazers.

These androgynous silhouettes were presented alongside more feminine pleated skirts and silk blouses, some with playful ruffles or embellished bibs.

Sharp tailoring was evident throughout, but the perfect simplicity of Chloé was truly shown via the two white gowns which have Kate Bosworth’s and Rooney Mara’s names on.

Many of the pieces have a classic, timeless quality to them which make for perfect staples.

My favourite looks included the yellow pastel oversized blazer and the coral pleated dress.
