Georgina Chapman For Garrard Launch, London

Standing quite a vision in regal blue, Georgina Chapman posed at the launch of her new jewellery collection for Garrard.

Once again we see the designer rocking her own brand, however the founder of Marchesa does make a rather impressive clothes horse for this exotic design.

A mass of sequins and beads, this short sparkly number certainly gains attention, with bordering feathers softening the tough structure. Opting for simple black platforms to complement her look, Georgina keeps the rest basic too, with natural hair and just a touch of a smouldering eye on show.

Princess Beatrice attended the event wearing a Notte by Marchesa Fall 2009 piece.

Very much in-keeping with this season’s favourite trend, Beatrice knows that anything that glitters or gleams goes, and looks fantastic covered in chunky gold sequins.

The little jacket and tights that Beatrice has chosen smarten this look, showing that even though she is a Princess, Beatrice knows grown-up glamour.

“The Box” New York Premiere

Despite this RM by Roland Mouret body-con dress fitting Cameron Diaz’s form perfectly, it’s disappointing to see the normally animated and lively actress in this more muted style.

Her personality has previously been heightened by what she has worn, however here, Cameron loses something of her kinetic celebrity persona.

By dressing down in tights and adding a tame up ‘do, it further dampens things. This dress doesn’t do her justice.

“Valentino: The Last Emperor”, New York

In keeping with recent ghoulish-festivities, Daphne Guiness stepped out a few nights ago in a dark ensemble, mixing textures and shapes creatively.

The fashion-forward mum-of-three stuck with her usual flamboyant style, combining tight leather leggings, a satin bodice and a velvet cropped jacket.

Stepping out in Nina Ricci’s lavish Fall 2009 boot, Daphne doesn’t disappoint as an example of someone unafraid to experiment with fashion, fully confident in her stride.

Socialite Lauren Remington Platt was spotted wearing this gorgeous Julien Macdonald dress recently, a garment taken from the designer’s Spring 2010 collection.

This same dress was placed on our Wish List page not long ago for starlet Cheryl Cole.

The candy-colours fused with figure-hugging fabric create a piece that is sweet and girly but with a flirtatious, sexy edge.

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Dinner, LA

Stunning Diane Kruger looks effortlessly chic in this asymmetric Chloe Fall 2009 jumpsuit.

Belted, to cinch her waist and showing just a peep of skin, the actress needn’t do anything else to this fabulous piece.

She kept her hair and make-up basic to achieve a flawless example of great style.

2009 Emirates Melbourne Cup Day

Like Ascot in the UK the Melbourne Cup Day is more about hats and fashion than horse-racing – from a woman’s point of view of course.

Kate Waterhouse oozed sophistication wearing a Chloé bow-detailed asymmetric silk blouse, which she paired with a high waisted white skirt and nude heels.

Normally I really hate a necklace worn with an asymmetrical top, but I’m surprised that it doesn’t bother me here.

Her hat perfects this stunning look.

I believe Jennifer Hawkins is wearing a stunning head-piece, but unfortunately I can barely make it out from the artwork behind her.

Laura Dundovic was my second favourite going for a black and beige colour co-ordinated look.

Model Sophie Monk opted for a sexier leopard print look.

I guess models can write their own fashion rule books, but it doesn’t feel quite right at this event.

More stunning hats.

Sonia Kruger looks stunning, I’m so jealous of her toned legs.

I love the fuschia colour of her look and her hat which looks like something a chic air stewardess would wear in the 70s.

I didn’t like anything about Olivia Newton-John’s look.  I may have like it had she not gone overboard with the boots and the lace gloves.

Zara Phillips’ Thread Social dress is unflattering on her from every angle.

Her Philip Treacy hat is nice though.

Designer Leona Edmiston had some extra pieces of tulle left over from designing her hat, so she incorporated the left-overs into her dress.

2009 AAMI Victoria Derby Day

Lara Bingle made sure all eyes were on her by wearing a large head-piece.

I’m sure it was mission accomplished, but every one was no doubt looking at her because of her deep plunging LBD than her hat.

Those of us outside Australia still don’t really know Lara, but the model is set to skate to international fame with news she will head to London in March for the UK series of “Torvill and Dean: Skating on Ice”.

Megan Gale’s black and white dress is so chic it hurts.

Loves it.

Jennifer Hawkins’ bold shoulder dress was covered with a lace overlay to complement her square lace head piece.

You have to admire Rinko Kikuchi, as she always keeps things interesting on the red carpet.

The actress opted for a head-to-toe Sophia Kokosalaki Fall 2009 runway look which is ever so slightly modified.

The gold strappy dress with a black skirt, is gathered and embellished with silver panels.

What I love most about this look are Rinko boots.

She looks like a warrior, on her way to battle.

A much as I love Zoe Saldana and her Giambattista Valli Spring 2010 orange floaty mini dress, it doesn’t feel quite grand enough for a Film Festival opening ceremony.

Her previous look would at the “Avatar” stage greeting would have been preferred.

The shoes are also killing me.*yikes*

Sigourney Weaver has the tendency to drop some stink bombs on the red carpet, but she comes up smelling of roses on this occasion wearing a petrol blue satin off-the-shoulder gown.

Japanese actresses Tae Kimura, Ryoko Hirosue and Miki Nakatani walked the red carpet together, each wearing red dresses in various styles, shades and textures.

Ryoko in the middle opted for a strapless silk chiffon Derek Lam dress with frayed ruffles at the ruched bodice, which she paired with champagne coloured heels.

Tae’s red strappy gown is very elegant in it’s simplicity, and Miki strapless velvet gown is divine.

I always wondered that if this Chloe Fall 2009 halter nude dress was worn on the red carpet, if the wearer would be tempted to belt it.

Japanese actress Rie Miyazawa didn’t, she kept the dress loose and floaty.

I love the ruffled collar on this dress.

“Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans” Premiere

I’m glad this event happened on Friday after I posted my Best Dressed Of The Week poll, because my first reaction to Eva Mendes wearing this Armani Privé Fall 2009 gown was that I liked the dress, but I wasn’t sure if I liked Eva in the dress.

Then as more pictures came in and I saw more angles, I started to appreciate how difficult this gown was to pull off. Especially by someone with Eva’s beautiful curves.

But she does pull it off, and with some ease I might add.

I would’ve never thought of Eva as a Privé girl, but her black gown which appears to be made out of ribbons is exquisite. From the keyhole bodice, to the rosette jeweled detail on her hip.

I’m not a fan of hair pushed back behind her ears, but it’s a small detail when everything else looks so amazing.

Her look was paired with black satin peep-toe pumps.

“Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans” Party

After the premiere Eva headed to the marina where she partied with designer Alberta Ferretti.

It was no surprise that Eva was wearing a gown by the designer.

Eva’s teal chiffon dress with a fringed hem was from Alberta Ferretti’s Spring 2009 collection.

Love the dress, not so crazy about the pale pink heels/black clutch combo.

“Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans” Photocall

This navy polka dotted Christian Dior Resort 2010 sheath dress is actually my favourite look of all 4 looks on this post.

The look is so chic and so classic yet not old fashioned.

I wish she had worn the runway heels, but I’m glad she wore the collar down.

Jaeger-LeCoultre host “Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans” Dinner

Completing the quartet of stunning looks this weekend was Eva wearing a white Chloé by Hannah MacGibbon Resort 2010 dress.

The white lace dress has long sleeves with a delicate chiffon ruffled plunging neckline.

It’s relaxed, yet not too informal. It’s also summer time fresh, even though we’ll all have to wait for next summer to buy this dress.

Some girls have all the luck.

She paired her maxi dress with a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch, wedges and a Bulgari clutch.

I also spy another headband.

Chloe Sevigny just can’t get enough of Chloé’s Spring 2009 scalloped shorts.

She owns them in many shades including camel, cream and now olive green.

She wore the latest pair this week when she attended HBO’s “Big Love TV” press conference in LA.

Her shorts were teamed with a pink chiffon blouse and her favourite Chloé wedges which she often pairs with her shorts.

Woooowwww. We have a smile people. Not a smirk, but a full on smile from Ginnifer Goodwin.

Goodwin opted for an ivory and black striped dress for this press conference.

The dress is cute enough, but it sits too high on her waist which is really unflattering.

But she’s smiling though. Yay.

July 28th, 2009

It feels like Gossip Girl day.

Leighton Meester was also on set yesterday. Like Blake her looks were also a mix of runway and more affordable pieces.

My favourite look was the khaki green Chloé scalloped shorts look paired with an ivory blouse and python heels.

For her second look Leighton Meester cuddled up to Ed Westwick as he holds a vintage bottle of Dom Perignon.

He looks very dapper in his suit.  His a pink bow-tie and handkerchief in his suit jacket matches her patent pink ostrich Nancy Gonzalez clutch.

The rest of her look included a lilac YaYa Aflalo Garland top, a floral Marc by Marc Jacobs pansy print skirt and Vera Wang black heels.

Oh how very early Posh and Becks.

I’ve count 4 different looks for Blair Waldorf in which she’s sporting that same Olivia Palmero hairstyle.

Change the style…pleeeeaaasseee.

Sienna Miller opted for a very laid back look for the Sydney press conference for her new action movie “G.I. Joe The Rise Of The Cobra”.

The actress look radiant wearing a cute Axl print dress from the Poltock & Walsh Fall 2009 collection.

She wore her dress with a pair of suede/leather Chloé camel lace-up ankle boots.

Sienna kept her make-up fresh and light as her honey coloured hair shone in the glorious sunshine.

Only Sienna can wear something this casual and be considered for Best Dressed Of The Week.

Fiamma Poltock and Katie Walsh are London based designers, you can view their full Fall 2009 collection here. Apparently Kate Moss is also a huge fan of their work.
