2017 Oscars Menswear Roundup

A handsome handful of guys also took to the red carpet for the 2017 Oscars on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood, California.

David Oyelowo: The sharp suaveness of this Dolce & Gabbana tux, with its white dress jacket and contrast black labels, was undeniable. Christian Louboutin ‘Dada’ loafers capped off the look with a touch of polish.

Andrew Garfield: The classic black tuxedo received a slim-line, slightly cropped proportion in this Tom Ford number.

Riz Ahmed: Our third rendition of the tux came courtesy of Riz, who took his to more colourful territory in a blue Ermenegildo Zegna Couture suit accented with Montblanc studs and cufflinks and Christian Louboutin ‘Alpha Male’ shoes. For a couture piece, I would have expected a slightly more precise fit.

Sofia Boutella In Chanel Couture – 2017 Oscars

Sofia Boutella attended the 2017 Oscars on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood, California.

She donned a Chanel Spring 2017 Couture dress that showcased both the glitzy sparkle and the feathered glamour that defined a number of pieces from this collection.

Yet the magical whimsy of the pouf-y hem and silver-encrusted embellishment was lost off the runway. I blame the edits that were made to the gown—from the revised neckline to the missing belt and lacklustre feathers.

What did you make of it?

Charles Finch and Chanel Pre-Oscar Awards Dinner

The annual Charles Finch and Chanel Pre-Oscar Awards Dinner took place at Madeo Restaurant on Saturday (February 25) in Beverly Hills, California, with all our favourite stars in attendance.

Nicole Kidman: The grand dame looked as regal as ever in Chanel Spring 2017 Couture. While I wish she had kept the original length, she always excels in Chanel. The look was style with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals and a smattering of diamonds.

Janelle Monáe: I’m sure many of you will be singing ‘hallelujah’ upon sight of Janelle not wearing black and white or a multitude of clashing prints. I’m more excited that this gold Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 tuxedo dress could be another indication that my Oscars prediction of a black-and-white-out could be coming to fruition. The look was styled with a Chanel bag and Christian Louboutin ‘Louloudance’ sandals.

Naomi Watts: Colour is like food to my soul, so consider me full and plenty satisfied by Naomi’s Chanel Spring 2017 explosive print frock. The clutch, not so much.

Naomie Harris In Chanel – 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Naomie Harris was the first to arrive on the red carpet for the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards today (February 25) in Santa Monica, California.

Traditional texture meets classic silhouette in this Chanel Spring 2017 dress; that’s until you get to the hot-pink Velcro accents which shifts this shift dress into another gear.

The shoes on anyone else may have given a pass, but this is Naomie Harris, so I would’ve loved shoes in a hot-pink or cool blue hue.

Anna Mouglalis In Chanel Couture – 2017 César Film Awards

Chanel ambassador Anna Mouglalis attended the 2017 César Film Awards on Friday (February 24) in Paris alongside Ana Girardo, Isabelle Huppert and Soko.

This look had me baffled.

Why?

Because if Karl Lagerfeld graced me with a €100,000 Couture dress, the last thing I’m going to do with cover it with a coat.

Especially a dress where its most interesting feature are on the shoulders.

It would be an honour to get frostbite in Chanel Couture.

Essence Black Women In Hollywood Awards

Chic was the name of the style game, with the stars out in force for the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards on Thursday (February 23) in Beverly Hills, California.

Gabrielle Union: I always love seeing a Prada look that gets it right, and Gabrielle’s does that—in spades. Sophisticated and charming, the embellished dress was also styled impeccably with her cropped waves and ankle strap heels.

Viola Davis: If you were like me and were missing her vibrant presentation of bright hues last time out, this Christian Siriano gown is a surefire remedy. The hot fuchsia colour was absolutely glorious on her and the streamlined, halter silhouette was the perfect way to wear such a commanding shade.

Yara Shahidi: The young up-and-comer never ceases to impress, bringing her unique personality to every look. Even with this classic, ladylike Chanel ensemble, she wears it with a youthful energy that’s further emboldened by the fun of the embellished sleeves.
