2017 amfAR Gala Cannes Model Roundup

The models were out in force for the amfAR Gala Cannes on Thursday (May 25) during the Cannes Film Festival.

Elsa Hosk: Striking a pose with a distinct pink, pinup mood, this Ermanno Scervino Fall 2017 gown had all the hallmarks of boudoir dressing with the exposed corset and sheer lace—distracting black heels notwithstanding.

Bianca Balti: What’s this? A model not baring it all? Bianca went for a more conservative stance in a Dolce & Gabbana black gown that oozed of old Hollywood glamour when styled with finger waves, statement jewels, and Gianvito Rossi shoes.

Joan Smalls: Between the length, the ubiquitous slit, and the collar-style neck piece, I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this Elie Saab Spring 2017 Couture dress paired with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and gigantic hoop earrings. Hip-hop, tribal glam?

Nicole Kidman In Chanel – amfAR Gala Cannes

Nicole Kidman has been on a chic streak of BDOTW success at the Cannes Film Festival, so my hopes were high for her entrance at the amfAR Gala Cannes on Thursday (May 25).

While she did take us on a flight of fancy in a Chanel Couture Pre-Fall 2017 gown that didn’t skimp on the feathered frou, this heavier look won’t rank as one of my top picks for her at Cannes.

With the sharply bold shoulder, the dress featured an intense silhouette that walked a line of darker mystere than her previous looks. That’s perfectly fine, but not when styled with such a severe bun that led to an ageing effect.

The pink belt did help lighten the mood, with Harry Winston jewels rounding out the look.

Rita Ora In Chanel – 2017 amfAR Gala Cannes

Rita Ora is performing tonight at amfAR Gala Cannes, held on Thursday (May 25) during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

One thing about Rita is she always keeps us on our stiletto-clad toes, as she took a frothy turn towards girly femininity in a Chanel embellished frock styled with Paula Cademartor ‘Bella’ sandals before taking to the stage.

Despite its sugary quality, it was a rather darling look that channeled a softer, fanciful spirit.

I did lose her waist a bit, but she worked her angles and the backless detail to her advantage on most occasions.

Perhaps the mod, ’60s bouffant-style hair was a bit much, but this is Rita, after all.

Her last look out at Cannes was underwhelming to some of you, so how do you like this 180-degree departure?

Jessica Chastain In Chanel Couture – ‘Vanity Fair Chanel’ Dinner

Jessica Chastain attended the Vanity Fair Chanel dinner held at Tetou restaurant on Wednesday (May 24) during Cannes Film Festival.

There’s no denying this Chanel Spring 2017 Couture dress serves as a distinctly feminine looking making it an undeniably elegant option for the actress.

I like how the pleats on her dress flare out adding dimension to silhouette, and the multicoloured tweed fabrication which isn’t picked up too well, in the above picture, so check out the pictures below from inside the venue.

Malone Souliers ‘Maureen’ pumps and glossy waves completed the look.

Tilda Swinton In Chanel – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

Tilda Swinton was bound to go for the alternative for the 70th anniversary screening this evening (May 23) during Cannes Film Festival.

I love that she stepped wearing a sparkling black tweed jumpsuit from Chanel’s Fall 2017 collection.

Those who thought her two looks by her BBF Haider Ackermann didn’t show her true colours, will no doubt be buoyed by this sleek offering which is demurely cut yet still dramatic.

Monica Bellucci In Chanel – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

The mistress of ceremonies is usually only seen on at the opening and closing ceremony, but as this was a special night celebrating the 70th anniversary of Cannes Film Festival, Monica Bellucci was back on the red carpet.

I have to say I’m not entirely sure about this gold sequin Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 gown on the Italian beauty.

I don’t want to like it just because it’s not black, because in truth, her best looks so far have all been outstanding in black.

My problem is this look isn’t allowing her true beauty to really shine through.

This is a rare miss for Monica. I’m almost certain I would’ve loved this black crepe or black velvet, as the silhouette is gorgeous.
