Anna Wintour In Chanel Couture & Bee Shaffer In Alexander McQueen – 2017 Met Gala

Anna Wintour and Bee Shaffer reprised their role as the ultimate mother-daughter duo at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Staying true to form, they wore respective Chanel and Alexander McQueen looks, as they do each year.

As co-host of the evening, Anna was the belle of the ball in a custom Chanel glittering confection that was inspired by the house’s recent Spring 2017 Haute Couture collection. It was a fantasy of golden paillette embellishment, accented by the capricious fancy of a fur-collared skirt. The necklace struck me as quite unnecessary, though, as perhaps she should have followed Coco’s sage advice to remove one thing before leaving the house.

Accompanied by fiancée Francesco Carrozzini, Bee took a romantic turn in a custom Alexander McQueen Fall 2017 tapestry gown by Sarah Burton that had more of a medieval heroine vibe than anything else—especially with her long, lovely braid.

2017 Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner

There was a sea of Chanel ensembles to be seen and admired from the guests at the Chanel Artists Dinner, hosted on Monday (April 24) during the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

Katie Holmes: Despite this being a sheer Chanel look, it manifested a casual, feminine charm. But I think it was Katie’s new, wavy bob along with metallic accessories that worked wonders to keep the look on fresh ground.

Dianna Agron: Classic Chanel tweed was turned on its head in this Spring 2017 ensemble that came alive with a holographic array of hues. The cropped top attempted to counterbalance the looser proportions of the jacket and skirt. I just wish her shoes had been as bold as her fuchsia eyeliner.

Dree Hemingway: Reflecting Dree’s free-spirited style, this Chanel look likewise paid homage to the spirited Gabrielle Coco Chanel herself. Sure, it was a quirky combination with the embellished sweater, girly pink skirt and granny-chic shoes. But, Dree has the presence to pull it off; I just wish she had done something more with her hair and makeup.

Pom Klementieff In Chanel – ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ LA Premiere

We’ve already seen a number of impressive looks from the LA premiere of ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ on Wednesday (April 19), and Pom Klementieff wasn’t about to break the trend.

The Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 collection may have been about ritzy, retro elegance but Pom took this hyper-embellished frock, with its constellation of beading and flurry of tulle, on a futuristic journey.

This is a ladies-who-lunch look for outer space.

The dress being so extravagant, little in the way of accessorising was necessary. Although I do love how her metallic-blue eyes echoed the frou.

2017 Hong Kong Film Awards Red Carpet Roundup

A few other stars joined Zhang Ziyi at the 2017 Hong Kong Film Awards on Sunday (April 9).

Irene Wan Bik-ha: Irene found inspiration in a Christian Dior Spring 2017 gown that featured the stenciled tarot card drawings seen throughout the collection. I think I would have liked this better with a sleeker ’do.

Lin Yun: You may remember Lin’s Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 floral-embellished gown from earlier this year when Janelle Monae wore it at the 2017 SAG Awards. I’m glad the neck piece and wrist cuffs were removed this time to simplify the decorative look.

Janice Man: Another repeat gown appearance came from Janice in this Louis Vuitton Spring 2017 design, previously worn by Sophie Turner. Not many of you loved the spliced, sheer design on Sophie, so does this outing fare any better?

Celebration Of Chanel’s Gabrielle Bag

Back in February, Chanel released the details of its forthcoming Gabrielle line, which was the brand’s first (major) new bag model since the ‘Boy’ bag back in 2011.

Chanel brand ambassadors – Kristen Stewart, Caroline de Maigret, Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne – will star in the campaign, however, only two of the three were on hand to host a party for the newest ‘IT’ bag at Giorgio Baldi on Thursday (April 6) in Santa Monica, California.

Lily Collins: There was a range of looks this event, but Lily’s tweed two-piece stayed true to the brands classic style.

Pharrell Williams: Leaving his Chanel pearls at home, the performer opted for a more sportier vibe on this occasion. The look almost has a 80s rapper vibe to it, the only thing missing is the chunky gold chain.

Katy Perry: If it wasn’t for the event, I would struggle to believe this was Chanel. It’s far too sloppy for my liking.
