Irina Starshenbaum In Chanel – ‘Leto’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Irina Starshenbaum struck a pose at the ‘Leto’ Cannes Film Festival photocall on Thursday (May 10) in France.

Her Chanel mini was a textural delight with its eyelash fabric.

Many enjoyed the sweet, effortless statement she made in the designer at the film’s premiere, so I’m curious to see how this look will go down. With its baby blue hue and delicate wispy texture, it carries a similar mood, but the short silhouette keeps things fresh.

The black pumps are a classic choice, but the colour feels rather stark against the dress and it brings down the whimsical mood.

Vanity Fair France x Chanel

It was a sea of short hemlines at the Vanity Fair France x Chanel dinner during the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday evening (May 9) in France.

Kristen Stewart: The Cannes jury member and Chanel brand ambassador brought her own carefree, edgy mood to this textured Pre-Fall 2017 mini. With its bow detail, it would have likely carried a prim sentiment but her styling gives it insouciant cool.

Penelope Cruz: She lightened things up with floaty tiers of pale blue with a Chanel Spring 2018 dress. Alluring glamour is usually her M.O. so this sweet statement was a change of pace, but she carried off. The champagne accessories added to the ethereal ensemble, but I find myself wishing for a sandal.

Chloe Sevigny: Offering a vampy mood, she showcased plenty of leg in the inky Chanel Spring 2018 frock. The multicolored tufts decorating the sleeves and hem carried a bewitching charm rather than unabashed sensuality that is often showcased with LBDs. Like Penelope, her well-considered styling allowed for a strong, singular statement.

Irina Starshenbaum In Chanel Couture – ‘Leto’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Although this Chanel Spring 2018 Couture frock wasn’t exactly the same as the one we saw on Yara Shahidi at the 2018 Met Gala just days ago, I was still getting a strong sense of déjà vu when Irina Starshenbaum took to the red carpet for the ‘Leto’ Cannes Film Festival premiere on Wednesday (May 9).

However, you won’t find me complaining, as I love the sweet charms of this deliciously tiered confection.

The petal-pink palette is so sublime, with additional enchantment of form coming through the embellishment in the front panel.

With a girlish pink lip to top it off, you might be wondering what that pin is doing on the blissful design. It is in support of the #FreeKirill protest against the arrest of the film’s director Kirill Serebrennikov.

Penelope Cruz In Vintage Chanel – ‘Everybody Knows (Todos Lo Saben)’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Penelope Cruz was back on the red carpet for the Cannes Film Festival photocall for ‘Everybody Knows (Todos Lo Saben)’ this afternoon (May 9) in France.

While Penelope will throw in violet, gold and maroon from time to time; black has always been her colour. And on this evidence, it’s easy to see why.

This classic Chanel LBD has all the elegance and sophistication we expect from the brand.

Some might find the lace train a bit dated, but I like that she didn’t attempt to modernise the look and keep its original charm.

Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry and black sandals completed her look.

Penelope Cruz In Chanel Couture – Cannes Film Festival Gala Dinner

Like Fan Bing Bing and Lea Seydoux, Penelope Cruz had a second look for the Cannes Film Festival Gala dinner on Tuesday (May 8) in France.

Her second Chanel Couture look hailed from the Spring 2018 collection.

The modified look has an ethereal, fairytale like quality that she doesn’t usually go for, but the magic of Cannes has always been celebrities breaking out of their comfort-zone – remember Olivia Palermo in animal print Roberto Cavalli?

I have two reservations about this look.

1. I would’ve preferred the upper layer acting like a train as we see on the runway and;
2. I wish she had worn her hair up.

The look was styled with a Chanel clutch and Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry.
