Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Sai Bennett In Chanel - 2014 BAFTAsSai Bennett attended the 2014 BAFTAs, hosted Sunday (February 16) at The Royal Opera House in London, England.

The rising starlet stepped out in a sprightly white gown from the Chanel Resort 2014 collection, studded with pearls on the mock peplum waist. You could nearly imagine Coco Chanel herself wearing this languid, ’30s-inspired dress, with its near-boyish charm and straight-laced silhouette.

Shown on the runway dripping in pearls on the runway, Sai simplified the styling by removing the strands and instead wearing a statement, giant pearl earring set from Chanel Fine Jewelry.

Long, crimped waves, swept to the side, along with an enticing fuchsia lip, finished off the look with vintage-modern flair.

Naomie Harris In Chanel - Charles Finch & Chanel Pre BAFTA Party

One of the stand-out looks of last night goes to Naomie Harris as she attended the Charles Finch and Chanel pre-BAFTA party at Annabel’s in London’s Mayfair (February 15).

Only one lucky lady would have been able to wear this instantly recognisable Chanel Spring 2014 print dress to the event and Naomie was the chosen one.

The asymmetric cut and various pleats, folds and layers create an effortless feminine dress which Naomie wears well, but I must admit I don’t love. I really feel the dress is wearing Naomie rather than the other way around.

Such a vibrant print deserves a complementary bold accessory which is why her pearl bracelet is so great but it’s shame to see Naomie opt for a pair of simple black sandals. A colourful yellow sandal would have been so much more vibrant, don’t you think?

Lupita Nyong'o In Chanel Couture - Charles Finch & Chanel Pre BAFTA Party

Wowing on the red carpet one again, Lupita Nyong’o shone bright while attending the Charles Finch and Chanel pre-BAFTA party on Saturday night (February 15) at Annabel’s in London’s Mayfair.

Wearing a rather fabulous candy pink tweed Chanel dress from the Fall 2102 collection with a matching cropped jacket, Lupita basically stole the show.

The ’12 Years a Slave’ actress has been on the promotional tour for months and still looks radiant. She is a woman who can wear colour with ease so it’s great to see her continue in her stride.

What I love most about this look is how Lupita has taken such a classic Chanel look and made it her thoroughly her own.

The high shine silver Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps add a fresh and sexy spin while the white and pink quilted Chanel bag combines ladylike with modernity.

It’s also really great to see Lupuita try out new lengths and silhouettes, but what do you think?

Olga Kurylenko In Chanel - Charles Finch & Chanel Pre BAFTA Party

Ukrainian-born actress Olga Kurylenko attended the Charles Finch and Chanel pre-BAFTA party at Annabel’s, London, yesterday evening (February 15).

Shying away from the ed carpet show-stoppers we have seen Olga wear earlier in the year, the star opted for a paired-back and very minimalistic little black Chanel dress which highlighted her enviably slender frame.

Demure and classic this look certainly is but I can’t help but feel underwhelmed by it.

The dress is timeless but there are so many other amazing Chanel archive pieces Olga could have worn.

The black pointed pumps and statement drop earring were simple and stylish but a bold cuff and much stronger shoe would have elevated this much more effectively. I also would have liked to see her fuss-free hair given a bit of extra gloss.

Lily Allen In Chanel - Charles Finch & Chanel Pre BAFTA Party

Drawing a crowd of movie stars, musicians and fashion royalty, it’s no wonder the Charles Finch and Chanel pre-BAFTA party at Annabel’s was one of the hottest tickets in London last night (February 15). And it was great to see Lily Allen make a stylish appearance.

Lily has slimmed down in recent months and took the opportunity to show off her figure with a body-hugging knee-length monochrome Chanel dress.

The classic tweed dress is elegant and understatedly chic. Lily’s pearl earring and matching hairpiece all added to the pure glamour of this look.

Her chic up-do is the perfect finishing touch while the Chanel bag, although not my favourite style, added a splash of colour.

I can’t however ignore Lily’s disappointing shoe choice. The black, cumbersome platforms completely contrast to the elegance of the rest of the look and I really think let it down. But what do you think?
