Keira Knightley In Chanel – 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Keira Knightley In Chanel - 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Keira Knightley was back on the red carpet at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 11) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Nominated for best supporting actress for ‘The Imitation Game,’ she took the opportunity to wear a custom Chanel design, based on a look from the Pre-Fall 2015 collection, which she accessorized by Chanel Fine Jewelry.

The mum-to-be has so far failed to impress with her maternity looks, and unfortunately she does nothing to change my mind here.

I wasn’t a particular fan of this look on the runway, and I still cannot find a fond place in my heart for the ruffled bib-like bodice and tiered skirting—although I am glad that the equally ruffled sleeves have disappeared on Keira’s version.

That’s not to say that the butterfly print of this dress, right down to the over-sized butterfly accent piece on her wrist, isn’t right in line with the star’s bohemian style.

What do you make of this piece?

Best Brand Ambassador 2014 – Keira Knightley for Chanel

Best Brand Ambassador 2014 - Keira Knightley for Chanel

Keira Knightley is your Best Brand Ambassador 2014 for Chanel.

With Jennifer Lawrence raising eyebrows on countless occasions for her Christian Dior affiliation, it likely comes as little surprise that Keira was selected as the superior ambassador.

Her classic, Audrey Hepburn-esque style mixed with a contemporary, bohemian flair and the occasional tomboyish mood makes her a good model (most of the time) for the revered design house.

While she by no means exclusively wears Chanel, she does wear the label well, as can be seen in such ensembles as a playfully printed frock, flipped at the hem, and a sophisticated and smart, black-and-white dress donned at the Chanel Fall 2014 show—paired with gold pumps, no less. A whimsically embellished chiffon gown, which she debuted at the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party, really channeled that boho side.

But perhaps one of her most gorgeous Chanel statements was at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of ‘The Imitation Game,’ where she stunned in an enchanted, off-white neoprene embroidered dress with a silk tulle skirt. This is what a brand ambassador looks like.

Diane Kruger In Chanel Couture – 2014 Glamour Awards

Diane Kruger In Chanel Couture - 2014 Glamour Awards

Diane Kruger attended the 2014 Glamour Awards on Thursday (December 11) in Milan, Italy.

The actress wore a Chanel Fall 2014 Couture white dress with silver embellished detailing enriching the A-line design, which she styled with a Chanel Perspex shoulder bag and nude Christian Louboutin ‘Double Tutti’ sandals.

I don’t at all mind the sandals as they don’t upstage the look, so while this is yet another fashion homerun for the German actress, I can’t quite get over the overwhelming sense of déjà vu.

Possibly due to the similar white embellished dresses with A-line silhouettes recently worn by Lupita Nyong’o and Keira Knightley, or perhaps because I had already pictured her in this dress in my mind’s eye, or because it reminded me of the Chanel dress she wore to the 2012 amfAR Gala.

Chanel Metiers d’Art Collection Pre-Fall 2015 Paris-Salzburg Front Row

Chanel Metiers d'Art Collection 201415 Paris-Salzburg Front Row

The Chanel Metiers d’Art Collection 2014/15 Paris-Salzburg was hosted on Tuesday (December 2) in Salzburg, Austria. Chanel-bedecked pretties were seated front and centre for the show.

Rooney Mara: The actress was dressed in a Chanel Fall 2014 Couture grey organza dress embellished with small concrete cubes and accented by balloon sleeves that corresponded with the full skirt embroidered with grey and gold rubber ribbons. Because the frock in itself was an art piece, she let it be the main exhibit with simple Chanel black pumps and the lightest sprinkling of Chanel Fine Jewelry to finish this statement look. The silhouette was girly, but the edginess was in the style-forward construction and materials.

Lily Allen: Working her own brand of edginess, the singer wore a Chanel Spring 2015 short-sleeve grey tweed coat over a blue knit top. It was rather demure—from the waist up. The Chanel Resort 2015 black sheer lace pants put the suggestive pop into this look, with a kitschy ‘lait de Coco’ Chanel milk-carton bag adding a final punch of humour. I just cannot get past her faded coral hair colour at the moment, though.

Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey: Working a sophisticated angle, the Franco-Spanish starlet wore a Chanel Spring 2015 matching black and white printed organza top and skirt with Chanel Fine Jewelry. Prim and feminine, she topped it off with mannish twist with her buckle boots and black tights.

Gisele Bündchen In Chanel – 2014 Champions Of The Earth Award

Gisele Bündchen In Chanel - 2014 Champions Of The Earth Award

UNEP Goodwill Ambassador Gisele Bündchen attended the United Nations Environment Program Champions of the Earth awards ceremony held at the Smithsonian American Art Museum & National Portrait Gallery on Wednesday (November 19) in Washington, DC.

With glamour very much part of her DNA, the face of Chanel No. 5 was able to dial it down for the event wearing a Chanel Fall 2014 grey wool dress with an asymmetrical neckline.

More suited to a First Lady, the event-appropriate look is something very fresh and new for Gisele.

My thoughts are that she perhaps should’ve worn her hair back, but I guess dialling down the sex appeal was one thing but keeping her signature tresses flowing is what makes her Gisele.

Perfectly event appropriate or too muted for her style?

Keira Knightley In Chanel – ‘The Imitation Game’ New York Luncheon

Keira Knightley In Chanel - 'The Imitation Game' New York Luncheon

Keira Knightley attended another luncheon hosted by the Weinstein Company for her latest movie, ‘The Imitation Game’, in New York on Monday (November 17).

The actress wore Chanel, selecting a red, black and white tweed jacket and skirt from the Spring 2015 collection.

Considering that the looks Keira has been serving up while promoting this movie have been mostly white or summery hues, this look takes quite a different direction.

What keeps this interesting for me is how the primness of the design is spliced with that alluring black lace asymmetrical panel on the jacket. Without that perhaps the look would’ve felt quite stuffy.

The ladies-who-luncheon look was simply styled with black suede Mary Jane pumps.
