Deniz Gamze Erguven In Chanel – ‘Kings’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Some will surely experience a sense of déjà vu with Deniz Gamze Erguven’s ensemble from the ‘Kings’ Toronto Film Festival premiere on Wednesday (September 13).

Sofia Boutella wore the same dress back in July to the ‘Atomic Blonde’ world premiere in Berlin, Germany. I appreciate the glistening fabric and classic two-tone finish that is a hallmark of Chanel, but I have the same issues with this look as Sofia’s.

The white neck band feels out of place. It perhaps would have worked better with the double cuffs from the runway—or a bolder ivory clutch.

I also wish Deniz had pulled her hair back so it wouldn’t be interfering with the raised neckline.

Carey Mulligan In Chanel – ‘Mudbound’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Carey Mulligan was seen on the Toronto Film Festival scene on Tuesday (September 12) at the ‘Mudbound’ premiere.

Chanel ensembles are, at their best, chic, timeless, and sophisticated—and that’s exactly what was found in this design from the Pre-Fall 2017 collection.

I love how the dress married a sweet femininity with classic form in the colourful tweed accents and double-C belt.

It was an effortless look for Carey—and ideal for the slightly more relaxed Toronto red carpet premieres.

Rupert Sanderson ‘Myril Plato’ sandals completed her look.

Toronto Film Festival Red Carpet Roundup

The 2017 Toronto Film Festival red carpet has been red-haute with looks throughout the weekend, and here is a roundup of the rest of the stars that were seen on Sunday (September 10).

Margaret Qualley: The young starlet was at the ‘Novitate’ premiere dressed in a Valentino Fall 2017 gown. This ornate look translated a bit heavily for me, but it’s intriguing to watch Margaret continue to boldly experiment with her style.

Evan Rachel Wood: I absolutely loved this Stella McCartney Resort 2018 pinstripe ensemble on the actress at the ‘A Worthy Companion’ premiere. Riffing on menswear, the look perfectly played into her edgy style sensibility while providing a different take on the suiting trend with its play on proportions. Her makeup seemed a bit overzealous, but that would be my main qualm. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes completed her look.

Elisabeth Moss: After a few recent looks that successfully pushed the boundaries of Elisabeth’s go-to style, she was back in her comfort zone at ‘The Square’ premiere with this Rochas retro-inspired jumper and skirt accessorised with Chloe Gosselin embellished pumps.

Annabelle Wallis In Chanel – 2017 GQ Men of The Year Awards

Annabelle Wallis was also at the 2017 GQ Men of The Year Awards on Tuesday (September 5) in London, in addition to Erin O’Connor, Charli XCX, and Poppy Delevingne.

Channeling her inner golden goddess, she wore a Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 dress that had a certain retro allure with its high-octane shine and flared hem.

She ensured the look stayed on modern ground with her wavy locks and complementary jewels.

If this dress seems vaguely familiar, it’s because Monica Bellucci wore a modified version at the Cannes Film Festival a few months ago. However, I still loved seeing how Annabelle interpreted it.

Astrid Bergès-Frisbey In Chanel – 43rd Deauville American Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Astrid Bergès-Frisbey opted not to change a habit of a lifetime by wearing Chanel for the 43rd Deauville American Film Festival opening ceremony this evening (September 1) in France, where she joined Charlotte Le Bon and Berenice Bejo.

Her Resort 2018 Grecian goddess look came across as effortless and in keeping with her no-fuss, free spirited style.

I do however wish she had incorporated some of the runway styling, like the bag and perhaps the hairstyle.

Tracee Ellie Ross In Chanel – Television Academy’s Performers Peer Group Celebration

Tracee Ellis Ross attended the Television Academy’s Performers Peer Group Celebration on Monday (August 21) in Beverly Hills, California.

I love the rich embroidery of her black and gold wool knit coat and trouser combo from Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2017 collection, which she styled with a cropped Hanes x karla tee for a fresh, summery, less stuffy twist.

Within this look I feel Tracee’s personal style shines in a way that felt authentic and effortless. It was just another example of how the ‘Black-ish’ star’s sartorial prowess continues to grow.
