Virgin TV BAFTA Television Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The Virgin TV BAFTA Television Awards on Sunday (May 13) in London, England featured an array of colours. Attendees joined Caitriona BalfeThandie NewtonVanessa Kirby and Claire Foy.

Ella Purnell: The new Chanel brand ambassador was clad in a Pre-Spring 2018 style. The dark colour echoed her Time’s Up pin while the fabric had such an interesting tactile quality from the golden thread. It’s a look you want to see up close and from far away.

Anna Friel: The rich green hue of the Best Supporting Actress nominee’s vintage gown enhanced her colouring. Alex Monroe and Jade Jagger jewels increased the opulent finish of the pleated style.

Vanessa Kirby In Christian Dior – Virgin TV BAFTA Television Awards

Vanessa Kirby joined her ‘The Crown’ costar Claire Foy at the Virgin TV BAFTA Television Awards on Sunday (May 13) in London, England.

She won the award for Best Supporting Actress and was outfitted in a Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2018 gown that was fit for the joyful occasion.

With its embellished beige tulle, the piece had a shimmering allure in the lookbook, but it was enhanced on the red carpet. Every detail glistened and it projected a regal elegance that suited her to a tee.

A Time’s Up pin rounded out the look.

Kristen Stewart In Chanel Haute Couture – Kering x Cannes Dinner

Kristen Stewart was at the Kering x Cannes dinner during the 2018 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 13) in France.

It was no surprise that she was in a Chanel Fall 2016 Haute Couture gown.

She streamlined the runway look, wearing only the strapless column with white pumps. Like the vast majority of her looks, she lends an insouciant cool to it through her attitude and styling.

Some might question the fit of the bodice given where the neckline sits. I initially had the urge to see the dress raised, but it seems to be the size rather than the placement of the embellished band that’s creating the effect.

‘Sink Or Swim (Le Grand Bain)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

There were so many more Cannes lovelies who were out in force for the ‘Sink Or Swim (Le Grand Bain)’ Cannes Film Festival premiere on Sunday (May 13).

Izabel Goulart: Some of you may be thinking what happened to the front of this signature embellished Zuhair Murad Spring 2018 Haute Couture bodysuit-gown fusion. But, the model has legs for days and she showed them off in top form with this enchanting moment that measured its sexiness by a moment of fairytale allure in the long embellished train. Naturally, Chopard jewels were a perfect finish.

Anja Rubik: As vibrant as this Saint Laurent Fall 2018 floral mini was, it seemed better suited to a daytime photocall than a red carpet premiere.

Marion Cotillard In Chanel Haute Couture – ‘Sink Or Swim (Le Grand Bain)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

For her fourth look of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, Marion Cotillard continued to keep us on our toes with her range of looks at the ‘Sink Or Swim (Le Grand Bain)’ premiere on Sunday (May 13), where she joined Isabelle Huppert, Jane Fonda, and Araya A. Hargate.

Looking to the Chanel Fall 2014 Haute Couture for inspiration, she offered a darling sense of prim Parisian charm in this bow-accented, tiered frock which was obviously modified and lengthened out of appropriateness for the setting.

Some might still say this dress, styled with Chopard jewels, was too understated for the likes of Cannes.

However, Marion did look lovely, carrying it all off with an unpretentious chicness.

I do question the gold sandals and the hot-orange manicure, as they didn’t marry as seamlessly into the rest of the aesthetic.

‘Girls Of The Sun (Les Filles Du Soleil)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

There were plenty more ladies who joined Cate Blanchett, Helen Mirren, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Araya A. Hargate and many more on the red carpet for the premiere of ‘Girls Of The Sun (Les Filles Du Soleil)’ during Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 12).

Kendall Jenner: Someone please set up a Go Fund Me page for Kendall Jenner, the poor girl left LA without a single bra. I jest of course, but I’m getting tired of photo shopping her nipples out of the picture. The model wore a heavenly Schiaparelli Fall 2017Haute Couture tulle gown embroidered with polka dots plus a trompe l’oeil belt.  The look was styled with Chopard jewels.

Golshifteh Farahani: The Iranian actress wore a Chanel Spring 2016 Haute Couture gown which I love for the shimmering fabrication and delicate embellishments. On this occasion the necklace doesn’t overwhelm the look.

Jurors Protest At The ‘Girls Of The Sun (Les Filles Du Soleil)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Kirsten Stewart, Lea Seydoux, Khadja Nin, Ava DuVernay and Cate Blanchett walked the red carpet in protest of the lack of female filmmakers honored throughout the history of the festival at the screening of ‘Girls Of The Sun (Les Filles Du Soleil)’ this evening (May 12) during Cannes Film Festival.

Only 82 films in competition in the official selection have been directed by women since the inception of the Cannes Film Festival whereas 1,645 films in the past 71 years have been directed by men.

Kristen Stewart: The actress wore classic Chanel suit, styled with rebel Roberi & Fraud retro-inspired shades.

Lea Seydoux: Her custom Louis Vuitton gown from the Fall 2018 collection is stunning. I love how it defines her gorgeous figure, and how the ruffled detailing gives the look an interesting dimension.

Khadja Nin: This navy gown was given plenty of African flare with her signature head scarf and sash combo.

Ava DuVernay: I had hoped to see more of Ava at Cannes, but her third outing didn’t disappoint Alberta Ferretti.

Cate Blanchett: The Australian actress wore her second Armani Prive look of the festival. The sensual fabrication was only enhanced by the asymmetrical cut, sculptural hip detail and figure forming fit. Chopard jewels completed her look.
