Diane Kruger In Atelier Prabal Gurung – ‘In The Fade’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

The three people I was looking out for this Toronto Film Festival were Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone and Diane Kruger.

Sadly, only one has managed to live up to expectation, and that was Jessica.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get on board with Diane’s Atelier Prabal Gurung look worn to the ‘In the Fade’ premiere on Tuesday (September 12).

Between the construction, the titanium lame fabrication and the conflicting gold accessories – which included Jimmy Choo sandals and a L’Afshar clutch – it just felt strangely disjointed to me.

It short, I don’t get it.

Bella Heathcote In Dolce & Gabbana – ‘Professor Marston & The Wonder Women’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Bringing her own bouquet of blooms to the red carpet, Bella Heathcote attended the ‘Professor Marston & The Wonder Women’ Toronto Film Festival premiere on Tuesday (September 12).

Fully embracing the array of flowers that permeated the Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2017 runway, she wore a colourful, dimensional mini dress from the collection.

I thought that she managed the beautiful yet intricate floral array quite successfully. That said, with such an extravagant bold-shoulder design, she could have gotten away with far simpler styling.

But, she was more interested in the full floral package with her Sophia Webster ‘Lilico Glitter’ platform shoes. An Atelier Swarovski lurex satin and mesh bag and a rose-red lip completed the look.

Sarah Silverman In Lavish Alice & Galia Lahav Couture – HFPA & InStyle Celebration of TIFF & ‘Battle Of The Sexes’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Sarah Silverman did double duty at the Toronto International Film Festival. First, the performer attended the HFPA & InStyle Celebration of TIFF on Saturday (September 9). Later, she joined Emma Stone and Andrea Riseborough at the ‘Battle Of The Sexes’ premiere on Sunday (September 10).

HFPA & InStyle Celebration of TIFF: Sarah further proved white dresses are a key player at TIFF 2017 with a Lavish Alice Fall 2017 number. She enhanced the glamorous vibe of the ankle-length frock with gold Sarah Flint ‘Ivy’ heels, golden jewellery and waves cascading over one ear.

‘Battle Of The Sexes’ Premiere: For evening, she kept the glamour but increased the party factor with Galia Lahav Couture. While her co-stars went for shorter silhouettes, Sarah championed a maxi gown festooned with lace appliqués. I appreciate the ensemble’s spirit and the way her topknot perfectly echoed the rosette detail on her neck.

Imogen Poots In Prada – ‘I Kill Giants’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

I was pleasantly surprised by Prada recently, with Jessica Chastain’s captivating gown at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival.

But, my brief love affair ended abruptly when Imogen Poots entered the film festival circuit for the ‘I Kill Giants’ TIFF premiere last Saturday (September 9), as I was quickly reminded why Prada can be a difficult sell on the red carpet.

It wasn’t just the lacklustre silhouette of the dress, but also the unflattering satin-y fabrication and the haphazard fringed beading that were problematic.

Add to that the black platform pumps and a messier approach to hair and makeup, and it’s a recipe for a redo. There isn’t anything I’d salvage here.

Alicia Vikander In Louis Vuitton – ‘Euphoria’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Alicia Vikander was at the ‘Euphora’ premiere during the 2017 Toronto Film Festival on Monday (September 11).

While the film festival seems to be the place for a few red-carpet transformations, it was very much the status quo for Alicia who was dressed in Louis Vuitton, naturally.

However, what was transformative about this Resort 2018 look was the modifications made from the original tapestry dress.

Made more traditionally feminine with the revised neckline and heightened bow at the waist, it created a sweet look for the actress. But it wasn’t without its fair share of edge.

Lest it get too ladylike, the two suggestively high slits at the side hinted at a slightly more rebellious intrigue.

I love how she styled the look with bounding waves for a softly romantic finish.
