Get The Look Sara Bareilles’ 2014 Grammy Awards Textured Braids

Sara Bareilles, known for her beautiful voice and lyrical impact, donned no-fuss, textured tresses at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.

Celebrity hair stylist Rolando Beauchamp described the look as “rough, beautiful hair that pulled her face up and back.”

Beauchamp prepped the hair first, using Garnier Fructis Style Deconstructed Beach Chic Texturizing Spray on Sara’s damp hair. In order to create the texture, he rough-dried the strands. When the hair was dry, he made two loose cornrow braids from the front to the back of her head.

He used a 1 1/4 inch curling iron on the rest of the hair; wrapping around just the ends. Using a bit of Garnier Fructis Style Deconstructed Move It Manipulating Gel, he worked it into Sara’s hair, section by section. This created more of a “slightly slept-in” look.

To set the hair, he gave it a few spritzes of Garnier Fructis Style Extreme Control Anti-Humidity Hairspray.

The result? Effortless waves and braids to compliment her feminine Blumarine gown.

Cyndi Lauper In Moschino Cheap and Chic - 2014 Grammy Awards Pre-Telecast Show

Singer/songwriter Cyndi Lauper accepted the Best Musical Theater Album award for ‘Kinky Boots’ onstage during the 2014 Grammy Awards Pre-Telecast Show at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday (January 26) in Los Angeles, California.

Like Katy Perry, Cyndi’s look had a musical reference, with her Moschino Cheap and Chic black-and-white skirt suit featuring a box-pleat ‘piano keys’ skirt.

If this look is feeling a tad familiar, that may be because Laura Carmichael wore a Moschino Cheap and Chic black mini dress with the same box-pleat ‘piano keys’ hemline last summer.

2014 Grammy Awards Menswear RoundupOn the whole, the fashion hit a flat note at the 2014 Grammy Awards, held on Sunday (January 26) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. So I was rather relieved, if not mildly amused, to see the guys turn up the volume on their sartorial statements. Here, a roundup of menswear glimpsed at the show.

Pharrell Williams: The singer-producer, who accepted the record of the year trophy with Daft Punk, couldn’t be missed last night, thanks to his absurdly over-sized Vivienne Westwood Mountain Hat. The rest of the look—a red track jacket, jeans and faded untied boots—took a back seat to the mushy, mountie topper, which naturally drew some silly comparisons and a host of memes. But at least there was some attitude on the red carpet.

Daft Punk: The big winners of the night, the ‘Lucky’ French duo danced their way around in head-to-toe Saint Laurent ensembles. Of course, what really made those dark tuxes and bow ties pop were the silver and gold robot heads, the matching metallic gloves, and the Saint Laurent jodhpur boots in silvery glitter leather.

Beyonce Knowles In Michael Costello - 2014 Grammy Awards Press Room

Having dried off her tresses from her performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center on Sunday (January 26) in Los Angeles, California, Beyonce Knowles slipped into another look to meet the press, which was again all about the booty.

The singer wore an open-back Michael Costello fishnet gown with white embroidery, which she styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

As alluring as this gown is, there isn’t much I like about it. It feels terribly dated, like something Tina Knowles would’ve whipped up for Destiny’s Child in the early days.

Also, I’m about ready for celebs to jump off this sheer trend… it’s been done to death.
