Red Carpet Fashion Awards

47th Annual CMA Awards - ArrivalsLucy Hale looked radiant on the red carpet for the 2013 CMA Awards; makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan describes her inspiration for the ‘Pretty Little Liars’ actress’s who is also the mark celebrity brand ambassador.

“Lucy wore a gorgeous pastel flowy Julien Macdonald dress so her makeup had to be glamorous and standout, but not overpower the sweetness of her overall look. We decided on a fresh look focusing on her eyes and drew shadow inspiration from the colours of her dress.”

“I began by prepping her skin with Nourish moisturizer by Lancer Skincare. This product soaks into the skin leaving it hydrated throughout the night, allowing the makeup to continually look even and fresh. For Lucy’s skin, I mixed Armani luminous silk foundation in 5 and 5.5 and applied it with a fluffy brush, working from the centre of her face outward. For any areas that needed extra coverage and to brighten under the eyes, I used Clé de Peau Beauté concealer in Ivory. Next I applied mark Just Blushing Powder Blush in Cameo to create a deep contour and topped off the cheeks with the pinks of the mark Wonder Glow Blush & Glow All Over Face Palette. I swept it high across Lucy’s cheekbones, allowing the subtle shimmer to illuminate her skin.”

Eyes:
“To make Lucy’s eyes pop, I used the mark 10 Year Anniversary Eye Shadow Palette in the left two colours (the M and A) all over her lid. I lined the top and bottom with both mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Jet Set and Foxy Brown. For the inner corners of her eyes, I used the white shade (on the far right) of the mark 10 Year Anniversary Eye Shadow Palette. The brightness in the corners of her eyes allows the shadow to catch the light and reflect it and makes Lucy’s eyes appear larger. I finished her eyes with two generous coats of mark Scanda-Lash mascara in Blackest Black.”

Lips:
“To finish Lucy’s look, I applied mark Make It Rich Lip Crayon in Naturally. This sweet peachy-pink allows the focus to be on her eyes, but also complements her dress and her overall look.”

Carrie Underwood CMACarrie Underwood stunned on the red carpet of last night’s 47th annual CMA Awards, hosted at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. But that was only the beginning of the co-host’s impressive fashion run, as she made a grand total of eight wardrobe changes during the show. Surprisingly, she also managed to stay out of pageant land for most of the evening, as well.

Carrie kicked off the night with a cotton-candy confection of a dress; a pink petal-laced number by Christian Siriano. She accented the plunge-front, high-low gown with Brumani jewels, matching pink Christian Siriano sandals and a bubblegum-lacquered lip. Even though the look was sweet, it didn’t cross over into overly saccharine territory, perhaps due to the edgier silhouette.

Next up, she cut things short in a Georges Chakra Spring 2013 Couture navy cutout frock, with pink and orange colour-block panels and a sequin waistband. Sherbet-hued sandals from Christian Siriano and David Yurman jewels, along with a half-up, half-down ‘do, added the finishing touches.

Her shiny metallic Talbot Runhof wrap column dress was perhaps her most glamorous. She accessorized the glittery gown with a giant Baccarat ring and Sutra earrings, along with Ryan Haber shoes. A low side ‘do contributed to the old Hollywood appeal.

Carrie showed off her legs in one of her more daring ensembles of the evening from Indian designer, Alpana Neeraj. She complemented the sporty-sultry, bronze sequined jumper dress, which featured an exaggerated step hemline, with Rupert Sanderson peep-toe heels and a Melinda Maria ring. Her long, blonde waves and pretty makeup eased some of the edginess, though.

Sheryl Crow In Ralph Lauren - 2013 CMA Awards

Sheryl Crow joined other legends in country music, including Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift, for the 47th annual CMA Awards held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee yesterday evening.

For this well-dressed event the singer wore a Ralph Lauren Fall 2012 black halter gown with a simple silhouette and an embellished neckline.

Opting for a big bouffant ‘do (this is a country event, after all), she styled her look with gold jewels including a large ruby-stone ring.

Faith Hill In Lanvin - 2013 CMA Awards

Faith Hill attended the 47th annual CMA Awards held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee yesterday evening alongside Kellie Pickler, Lucy Hale, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift.

The country legend wore a custom-made white liquid jersey draped gown by Alber Elbaz for Lanvin featuring a deep plunge with a Swarovski-embellished neckline and metal waistband.

Wearing her hair back in a sleek ponytail, she completed her look with a selection of gold jewels.

Her gown is beautiful but the belt feels so aggressive. A thinner version may have worked better.
