Zhang Ziyi In Carolina Herrera - 'The Bling Ring' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Zhang Ziyi made her third appearance during the Cannes Film Festival this evening for ‘The Bling Ring’ premiere.

With the rain still coming down heavily in France, the actress selected a Fall 2012 gown by Carolina Herrera.

Her black-and-silver painterly print gown with a voluminous skirt styled with a stunning Chanel necklace takes me back to her princess days.

Opting to keep her wig on the headstand this evening, she swept her hair back into a sleek updo with a Jimmy Choo clutch providing the finishing touches to her look.

I’m sure I don’t need to ask you which look you preferred from last night and tonight.

Karolina Kurkova In Carolina Herrera - 2013 Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup

Model Karolina Kurkova turned out for a day of sport at the 2013 Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup at the Greenwich Polo Club in Connecticut, hosted on Wednesday during HRH Prince Harry’s visit to the United States.

After a punkish spin at the Met Gala last week, the statuesque stunner referenced another style era, the ’40s, with this retro-chic moment; a bell-sleeve dress from Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2013 collection.

Covered up in abstract blue dahlia blooms, Karolina strutted out an entirely different vibe from her customary cool-girl edge in this prim and proper frock.

But she was no wallflower and can obviously keep pace with old Hollywood glamour, too.

In fact, I almost prefer her more simplistic styling of the look to that seen on the runway, as she turned the neckline into a keyhole and threw off the dark-navy belt in favour of letting the ruched corset waist stand on its own.

The matching sandals were also cast aside for a straightforward pair of white pumps, while she topped off the ensemble with a casual side-parted ponytail and a petal-pink lippie.

Perfect for polo, or too plain?

Emily Blunt In Carolina Herrera - 2013 Met Gala

Emily Blunt went the route of all black for Monday’s punk-themed Met Gala in New York.

The actress wore a gown by Carolina Herrera.

The all black-ensemble proved it’s all in the details with a slit, key hole cutout, and buttons down the front of the dress.

Emily kept her makeup simple aside from a swipe of hot pink on her eyelids and a braided topknot style for her locks.

I’m a big fan of Emily’s sartorial choices but this look is not my favorite. I imagine Met Gala styles to be more exciting and over the top than this beautiful, but simple design.

MinkaKellyCarolinaHerrera1

Minka Kelly hit the red carpet at this evening’s Met Gala in New York City with a vampy take on the fundraiser’s ‘PUNK: Chaos to Couture’ theme.

The actress stunned in a Carolina Herrera Fall 2013 design with a high-neck, long-sleeved gown cinched at the waist with a geometric belt.

The mix of delicate lace and tough-girl beaded texture at the neckline perfectly complimented the dark purple hue of the dress.

Minka finished off her punked look with a dark lip colour, winged eyeliner, and a braided updo topped with hair jewels.

Julianne Hough In Carolina Herrera - An Unforgettable Evening benefiting EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund

Julianne Hough attended EIF Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s 16th Annual ‘An Unforgettable Evening’ hosted by Saks Fifth Avenue on Thursday evening in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress/dancer wore a stand-out Caroline Herrera Pre-Fall 2013 frock which featured a giant bow at the rear which funnelled out to the side of her skirt.

With the striking dress providing all the drama, Julianne opted to keep the rest of her look simple with black satin Stuart Weitzman ‘Naughty’ pumps and an L.K. Bennett ‘Alexia’ clutch.

A slick back bob and a pink lip colour completed the look.

Do you find Julianne’s post-breakup style more refined?

Malaga Film Festival Closing Ceremony

The 2013 Malaga Film Festival had its official closing ceremony at Teatro Cervantes in Spain on Saturday.

Juana Acosta: Probably the best-dressed star of this festival, Juana wore a gorgeous limoncello gown by Spanish designer, Lorenzo Caprile. The form-fitting gown with padded shoulders and a mermaid silhouette was styled with a Lorenzo Caprile gold clutch and Barcena jewels for a head-to-toe Spanish representative look. Glossy waves, a red lip colour and matching manicure completed her look.

Dafne Fernandez: My favourite Spanish actress kept it simple and chic, wearing an Oscar de la Renta navy gown from the Spring 2013 collection. Opting not to wear the gold-metallic belt that the dress was styled with on the runway, she instead added a gold clutch to her navy short-sleeved gown with a sheer yoke. While Dafne looks stunning, I would’ve preferred the look with the belt.

Eva Marciel: The actress also selected a bold colour, wearing a Carolina Herrera lace emerald-green one-shoulder gown styled with Jimmy Choo sandals, a gold Escada clutch and gold Tous jewels. Like Juana, she also opted for glossy waves, red lips and a red manicure.
