Kerry Washington In Carolina Herrera – Bronx Children’s Museum Gala

Kerry Washington was honoured at the Bronx Children’s Museum Gala on Tuesday (May 2) in New York City, following the Met Gala.

I was surprised to read that some of you haven’t felt excited about Kerry’s red carpet style since her ‘Django Unchained’ promo tour which is back in 2013, so hopefully this Carolina Herrera tea-length dress will see her back in your good graces.

While there were some kinks which needed ironing out, I love the ladylike elegance and simple ease of this look despite its structured silhouette. Even the hair and makeup took a non-fussy path, with black pumps adding the finishing touch.

Models @ The 2017 Met Gala

The models had their moment at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City. Here, a look at how they made the night’s blue carpet their catwalk.

Bella Hadid: We’ve heard of the naked dress, but Bella had the naked jumpsuit of the evening in this sheer mesh Alexander Wang number that left precious little to the imagination.

Gigi Hadid: Her sister may have opted for the naked look, but Gigi just went plain nude in this sweeping Tommy Hilfiger gown—her version of a princess dress—that combined architectural tailoring with romantic femininity. To add an edge, Wolford fishnets did the trick for her leg jut that was likewise accessorised by Christian Louboutin heels.

Emmy Rossum In Carolina Herrera – 2017 Met Gala

Emmy Rossum was also in attendance at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Leave it to Emmy to bring the ultimate sense of mod yet refined elegance to the proceedings with this Carolina Herrera masterpiece.

I love how the whoosh of the extravagant flourish and train at the side elevated the minimalist spirit of the fusion look. From one side, it was a flowing white gown; from the other, a study in menswear-chic tailoring.

All together, it was a sleekly sophisticated moment with Emmy’s low bun, sparkling jewels, and red lip only adding to the perfect style equation.

harper x Harper’s BAZAAR May Issue Event Red Carpet Roundup

Other starlets joined Emily Robinson for the harper x Harper’s BAZAAR May Issue Event on Wednesday (April 26) in LA.

Laura Marano: I love the colourful vibrancy of this Balmain bandage-inspired dress. What I didn’t love so much was Laura’s slicked-down hair and heavy makeup, as this beauty approach was too forced and mature for the bright young actress.

Debby Ryan: With a fresher outlook, Debby was darling in a sky-blue patterned Carolina Herrera frock styled with a silvery-gray Edie Parker clutch, only leaving me to question why not echo a silver or blue shade in her shoes?

Victoria Justice: She covered off on every era in this ensemble—from her ’70s-inspired sparkling sequin PrettyLittleThing ‘Sharlie’ mini, to a hole-dotted denim jacket that could have been ripped straight from the ’90s, and Lucite heels hearkening back to the ’80s. And, despite its OTT essence, she surprisingly wore it with a sense of relaxed ease.

Variety Power of Women Event Red Carpet Roundup

Blake Lively wasn’t the only power female at Variety’s Power of Women: New York event on Friday (April 21) in New York City, as other leading femmes were also in attendance.

Jessica Chastain: As an honoree of the evening, Jessica dressed for the occasion with chic sophistication in a Carolina Herrera embellished dress with playful tied sleeves. As the actress looks so good in colour, I’m glad she wore a vibrant mulberry lip, with silver metallic pumps adding more zing.

Katie Lee: You won’t find any objection from me with the bold, bright nature of this Proenza Schouler lily print frock. I do wish she had more sleekly completed the look with a stronger makeup look and a pulled-back hairstyle.

Salma Hayek: Salma went for a classically reserved Balenciaga ensemble with elongating stripes. But, I do wish she had worn a sandal instead of the patent black pumps to further the effect.
