Kate Walsh In Carolina Herrera - 2013 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Kate Walsh made a graphic fashion statement on the red carpet of the 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, hosted last night at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C.

The ‘Private Practice’ star grabbed stares in a dramatic, black-and-white strapless ball gown from the Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

With the exploded chrysanthemum print and diaphanous layers, the dress had a big, bold and beautiful story to tell. And I loved it for exactly those reasons.

A sleek ponytail, a rosy lip, and just the right amount of sparkle with flower-inspired earrings by Norman Silverman completed this sophisticated entree.

Julianne Hough In Carolina Herrera - Second Annual FABB West Opening Night Cocktail Party

Julianne Hough made her first red carpet appearance as a single gal at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, California for the Second Annual FABB West Opening Night Cocktail Party.

As you know, I’m not that much of a fan of Julianne’s style, what with the princess dresses and rockabilly hairstyles, but she looked very grown up and sophisticated wearing a Carolina Herrera Spring 2013 ensemble on this occasion.

Opting not to wear the sea-foam blouse as presented on the runway, she wore an electric-orange short-sleeved knit sweater with an abstract-print skirt with red piping and a skinny red belt.

Even though I wish the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Spring 2013 yellow satin ‘Isabel’ three strap heels were sandals, she looks flawless, with her hair and makeup much improved too.

I guess when she stopped trying so hard, the real her has come to the surface.

Renée Zellweger, who presented at the award ceremony, brought a gleaming gold look to the 2013 Oscars in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Clad in her go-to designer, Carolina Herrera, Renée looked very statuesque in a curve-hugging sequined gown. Renée’s gown offered an element of surprise from the back with a small train and keyhole cutouts with red velvet bow details.

The actress styled her gown with ruby and diamond bangles from Van Cleef & Arpels and a gilded box clutch.

While Renée’s dress was beautiful, her hair and makeup style was underdone for the occasion, as it looked like she pulled her hair back at the last minute.

What do you think of Renée’s beauty and gown choices?

Carolina Herrera Fall 2013

Karlie Kloss opened Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2013 runway show, which was my first sighting of my favourite model this fashion week.

With the models’ hair styled into 40s victory-roll pin ups, they took to the runway wearing a delightful mix ranging from chic, feminine daywear to masculine suits with exceptional tailoring, which will delight the likes of Rachel Evan Wood and Tilda Swinton.

Luxurious fur-trimmed pieces stood alongside pretty printed dresses, chic separates, bold-hued frocks, wool coats and, of course, the show closed with plenty of red-carpet-worthy gowns.

We saw a stunning white column gown with a keyhole detail, a sleek black gown with sequin sleeves, and my favourite was a fuchsia gown with a plunging neckline and bow accent.

Ali Larter In Carolina Herrera - LA Art Show Opening Night Premiere Party

Ali Larter attended the LA Art Show opening night premiere party at Los Angeles Convention Center in California on Wednesday evening.

The actress opted for an ethereal Carolina Herrera Spring 2013 gown.

Her abstract-print one-shoulder gown with seafoam and electric-orange leather skinny belt featured a light ruffled detail on the shoulder which cascaded down her back.

Carrying the celebrity favourite Edie Parker pearlescent clutch in nude with a gold clasp, she completed her look with barely-there makeup and a simple ponytail.

I love the effortlessness of this look. Anything more would’ve overwhelmed the look.

If I could remove just one thing, it would be the silver chain-link bracelet.

Your favourite this week, by one per cent, was Lucy Liu’s Carolina Herrera strapless floral ball gown, which she wore to the 2013 Golden Globe Awards.

You loved the bold floral print, her styling of this look and the fact that the petite actress had so much fun posing and walking around like a princess in her gown.

My favourite, by far, was Emily Blunt. Her Michael Kors gold lace gown with sexy cut-outs fit her like a glove and was one of the few refreshing looks in a sea of fairly predictable gowns.

Top that off with some stunning ruby jewels and flawless makeup and I was completely in awe of her breathtaking Globes look.

When it came to the fellas, there was no such divide in opinions. Eddie Redmayne, the golden boy of red carpet menswear dressing, has pretty much dominated this poll since its inception.

We clearly can’t get enough of his dapper slim-fit suits. On this occasion, he won wearing an ink-blue Hugo Boss suit.
