Red Carpet Fashion Awards

For this week’s ‘Solo Moda’ programme, Nieves Alvarez began with a Giorgio Armani dress embellished with Swarovski crystals.

The dress, which needed very little to bring it to life, was styled with a pair of Christian Louboutin sandals and a large ring by Alexis Bittar.

For the second look, Nieves chose understated elegance in a Calvin Klein dress from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection. Again she chose to accessorise with Alexis Bittar jewellery and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Nieves switched things up for her final look by adding a colour popping pair of  trousers to an embellished black shirt – both from Roberto Cavalli’s Fall 2012 collection – and a pair of pink and orange Manolo Blahnik sandals. Alexis Bittar once again provided the jewellery.

All three looks are beautiful, but my favourite is the Calvin Klein. Sometimes less is more and the Alexis Bittar bangles and patterned Louboutin peep-toes were all that was needed lift this ensemble.

Which was your favourite?

After Fergie’s horrific look from earlier in the week, she fared much better on the red carpet at the 3rd Annual amfAR Inspiration Gala New York at The New York Public Library, hosted by Rose McGowan in New York City yesterday evening.

The singer kept her look simple: she opted for a Calvin Klein Fall 2012 dress covered in matte embellishments.

Keeping to the brand’s minimal aesthetic, Fergie only added a black clutch and Fergie Footwear pumps to her look.

Hair, makeup, everything is much improved on this occasion.

We couldn’t leave out the fellas who attended the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards, held at the Alice Tully Hall in New York City yesterday evening.

Brad Goreski: The stylist was most definitely not a wallflower wearing a Kate Spade ‘Florence Broadhust’ Japanese floral print suit. The beautiful black-and-white suit, custom-made by Martin Greenfield, was styled with a cute quiff and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Matt Bomer: Upon seeing the actor I checked out his IMDb page as I wondered where he has been all my life. Turns out I have seen him in a movie, ‘In Time’ but his good looks appeared to pass me by. I guess that’s what happens when you watch a movie on a tiny airplane screen. Matt wore a shiny Calvin Klein jet-black suit with a black buttoned white dress shirt and a black bow tie.

Cameron Silver: Like Bradley, Cameron can always be relied upon to do something different. The Decades owner wore a custom Nicole Miller suit with a coordinated custom Rod Keenan hat. He accessorized with a Shamballa Jewels medallion necklace, a custom Lisa Kingsley bag and bi-colour Burberry shoes.

Seth Meyers: The host for the evening arrived wearing a black Band of Outsiders suit, but during the awards he donned the black Comme Des Garçons lace dress Marc Jacobs wore to the Met Gala earlier this year with the white boxers. No doubt is was a LOL moment.

Marc Jacobs: After wearing several Comme Des Garçons dresses in a row, the designer suited up for the fashion awards ceremony. His traditional black tux was styled with a Louis Vuitton clutch. Who would’ve thought that Marc would be the more reserved of the bunch.

Chloe Moretz joined Kate Bosworth on the red carpet for the ‘Infinite Loop’ exhibition hosted by Calvin Klein in Seoul, South Korea, yesterday.

The young actress wore a Calvin Klein Fall 2012 dress.

Her red-orange sleeveless dress with a high neckline and a pleated skirt was paired with those unfortunate Calvin Klein platform pumps in a neutral beige colour.

Chloe teamed her simple dress with a silver box clutch and a lip colour to match her dress.

Elegant wavy long locks completed her grown-up look.

Whilst most stars are at the French Riviera, Kate Bosworth is currently in Seoul, South Korea.

The actress was there to attend the ‘Infinite Loop’ exhibition as a guest of Calvin Klein.

She donned a stylish black-and-ivory-leather combination dress from the Fall 2012 collection.

The high neck look with an almost space-age vibe was accented with a metallic silver waistband.

Kate styled her look with an ivory Calvin Klein clutch, stud earrings, and black patent pumps.

A simple side-parted bun completed her look.

Calvin Klein celebrated Women In Film during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival yesterday evening, inviting a host of beautiful stars.

Jessica Chastain: I had to peel myself off the floor when I saw Jessica carrying a clutch. Is this a first? I think so. The Oscar-nominated star, who has gone hands-free since bursting onto the scene last year, carried a clutch – yes a clutch – with her Calvin Klein long-sleeve coral mini dress – a Kodak moment if I ever saw one. Like Diane she wore white heels, but unlike Diane, her Elie Saab heels do not get a pass.

Naomi Watts: The Australian actress wore one of Calvin Klein’s signature nude slip dresses with a plunging neckline. She oozed sophistication in her naked dress which she teamed with a chain-accented clutch. She was my favourite at this event.

Shailene Woodley: On a busy night for the star, she also attended this event wearing a peachy Calvin Klein dress with suede sandals. She completed her look with a half-up, half-down hairstyle.

Lara Stone: I have always wondered what is so fascinating about Lara Stone, but on inspection of this horrid silver Calvin Klein dress which is creased to high heaven, today is not the day I will find out.

Hayley Atwell: From the bangs, which are too long, to the lip colour, which is too dark, to the dress, which is meh at best, to the Sergio Rossi heels, which don’t work with her look, this is a disaster from head-to-toe for Hayley Atwell. This whole look needed a rethink before heading out the door.

Jada Pinkett Smith: I think it is safe to say that Jada wasn’t wearing a Calvin Klein dress. The actress donned a petrol-blue Paco Rabanne Spring 2012 dress with bold shoulders and a plunge which grazed her naval. I bet the minimalist police were going crazy at this event when she walked in.
